The purpose of this study was to evaluate the effect of different polishing procedure on the surfaces of amalgams. 70 Cavities prepared on the plaster-stone dies, 6㎜ in diameter and 2㎜ in depth, was filled with amalgam. The amalgam specimens were polished by using cotton boll and 6 polishing devices; matrix, polishing bur, pumice, zinc oxide - eugenol, silicone rubber disk and sand paper. A profilometer (Bendix type) was used to record in microinches the surface roughness of each surface finished amalgam specimens. 1) In all groups, rough surface were appeared. 2) The silcone rubber disker produced the smoothest in the experimental groups. 3) Amalgam surface scrubbed with a cotton bolls produced the roughest surface. 4) The orders of surface roughness were cotton bolls, 12-fluted carbide burs, pumice, sang paper disks, matrix, zinc oxide - eugenol and silicone rubber disks.
I am reporting here a syntematic in vitro examination for specificity of anti-cancer effect of several oriental herbs, which have been used frequently for cancer pateints(therapy), on Molt-4 LCL(Lymphoblastoid Cell Line) Leukemic cells in relation to its density and time of incubation. 1. ErOH extract of Jujubae Fructus reduced Molt-4 cell's survival rate effectively after 48 hours' treatment at 1000㎍/㎖'s density and it reduced survival rate of LCL effectively after 12 hours' treatment at 1000㎍/㎖'s density. 2. EtOH extract of Cordyceps reduced LCL's survival rate effectively after 36 hour's treatment at 1000㎍/㎖'s density. 2. EtOH extract of Fici Fructus reduced LCL's survival rate effectively after 36 hours' treatment at 1000㎍/㎖'s density. 4. EtOH extract of Trionycis reduced Molt-4 cell's survival rate even at 500㎍/㎖ density and further effective at 1000㎍/㎖ density after 24 hours treatment and it killed the cells completely at 1000㎍/㎖ density after 48 hours treatment, It also Killed LCL completely after 12 hours and 36 hours' treatment at 1000㎍/㎖'s density. 5. EtOH extract of Biotae Cacumen reduced LCL's survival rate effectively after 12 hours' treatment at 1000㎍/㎖'s density, and after 36 hours treatment it reduced LCL's survival time very effectively. 6. EtOH extract of Psoraleae Fructus reduced Molt-4 cell's survival rate very effectively after 24 hours' treatment at 500㎍/㎖ and 1000㎍/㎖'s density, and after 48 hours' treatment at 250㎍/㎖'s density it reduced effectively and it killed the cell completely at 500㎍/㎖ and 1000㎍/㎖'s density. It also killed LCL completely after 12 hours and 36 hours' treatment at 1000㎍/㎖'s density. I hope to proceed with more advanced experiment in vivo and clinically as for the two kinds of oriental herbs and another herbs effective for leukemia.
The sentiment of “Melancholy” that is found on the Dongin Ji in 1920’s has been criticized due to its passive and retrogressive attitude, which was considered as escaping the reality, even though that was letting out their pent up anger toward failure of “3.1. Independence Movement”. This is the result of the interpretation which combines the historical atmosphere and critical mind that can be found in the Dongin Ji in 1920’s. The implication of the various symbols and writing method which was found in Dongin Ji, remains limited due to its one sided interpretation. The critical mind of this thesis is starting from this point and tried to re evaluate the sentiment of “Melancholy” that can be commonly found in Dongin Ji in the 1920’s and developed the debated aiming at Lee, Jang Hee(Poet) among them. The sentiment of the “Melancholy” in Lee Jang Hee's poet can be interpreted in positive way related with “The Old Memory” and “The Tomb”, although his “Melancholy” also evaluated as passive and retrogressive attitude just like other poets in a discourse system of Dongin Ji on those days. This thesis is mainly referred the concept of Kristeva’s “Melancholy” and by reading this paper we can find out affect of the “Melancholy” which is presented in Lee, Jang Hee’s poem is oriented at maternal world and presented in various writing method which dissolves order of symbolic(le symbolique) on those days. Therefore the sentiment of “Melancholy” which is presented in Lee, Jang Hee’s poem is consious product which is trying to shaping new poetic order and can be considered as “Maternal Politics”.
The purpose of this article is to examine Song Wook’s poetic journey from collection of poems Yuhuk to serial poetry Haeinyeonga focusing on ‘life consciousness’ as a fundamental problem consciousness. Previous research has been paying attention to ‘body’ as a theme penetrating Song Wook’s poetic world, but it has not received much attention that ‘life consciousness’ is interspersed in the background of his various experiments surrounding ‘body’. Song Wook tried to move toward a world where human and nature are united through ‘body’, represented by ‘naked body’ in his early poems, and showed a consciousness of trying to break free of space-time constraints and join others on a cosmic level. This is due to his experience of Showa Culturalism in japan at the end of the japanese colonial period, but Song Wook embodied this as a question of ‘life’ in Korean society after the war. More specifically, he tried to satirize the Korean society, which is marked as ‘Pseudo-modern times’ through the symbol of the grotesque body in his serial poetry Hayeojihyang, which is based on the structure of confrontation between the qualities of ‘anti-life’(death) and ‘life’(living). In this regard, his consciousness of social criticism was in a two-sided relationship with his consciousness of life. In fact, Song Wook tried to create an alternative space to heal the world marked by anti-life by restoring the network of human-natural relations from the Haeinyeonga. In particular, he wanted to portray a world in which the uniqueness of an object harmonizes with the life order of the entire universe through the time of the ‘second genesis’ and the ‘body’ on the cosmic level. Therefore, Song Wook’s persistent poetry of ‘life’ is significant in that it is related to the awareness of problems surrounding the post-war Korean society and is linked to the physicality that runs through his poetic world.
A new process for stadardization of Pyritum is reported. The process included a composition analysis of Pyritum which is pre-treated under the variety of roasting and quenching conditions. Optimun treatment condition was determined based on the percent amount of Fe and As in the pre-treated Pyritums. The treatment condition which gave maximum percent amount of Fe and minimum percent amount of As in the Pyritum is asumed to be the best treatment condition. Full series of the analysis showed that 3 hr roasting in muffled electric furnace followed by quenching in > 5% acetic acid is the optimum treatment condition. Our experimental result can be a good evidence that the standardization of Pyritum can be performed by muffled electric furnace technique.
The concept of ‘human life’ in early modern Korea and Japan has created an important momentum to build modern literary thought. From the start, the concept of ‘human life’ contained a flexible attribute by ‘life’ as the signifier itself, and therefore it had polysemy. It also provided a basis for expressing various literary thought depending on the context of a writer and would be an element while showing points of difference from Korea and Japanese modern literature. Matthew Arnold, who has a strong influence on Korea and Japanese modern literature by introducing the concept of ‘human life’, has left rooms for differences regarding ‘human life’ while positioning the relationship between ‘human life’ and ‘literature’ into universal domain of man’s life. During the Meiji period of Japan, Kitamura Toukoku arranged literary thought of Yamaji Aizan into ‘utilitarianism’ and tried to contextualize ‘life’ in the direction of expressing individual mental freedom. In this sense, the concept of ‘human life’ in the Meiji period of Japan embraced the domain of ‘individual’ and ‘society’ while including the conflicting points by both parties through ‘life’. Furthermore, ‘life’ in 1920s’ Joseon served as a momentum to create each of thought in terms of ‘individual’ and ‘society’ and also harmonize them together through ‘life’. This was represented by ‘art for life’s sake’ from Lee Kwangsu and Kim Uk. Therefore, it important to examine the concept establishment of ‘human life’ and settlement process of ‘life’ in that it shows the modern literature of Korea and Japan becomes the corner stone in the context of each country.
