First record of Dolichospermum mucosum (Nostocales, Cyanobacteria) in Korea: A study from the Han River

The heterocytous cyanobacterium Dolichospermum mucosum was observed in Cheongpyeong Lake, located in the mid-to-downstream region of the North Han River. This species is morphologically characterized by irregularly and circularly coiled trichomes, which are consistently surrounded by a transparent mucilaginous envelope at a distance of 19.8±11.3 μm. Akinetes were solitary, nearly spherical, and positioned at a distance from the heterocysts, with a width-to-length ratio of 1.1±0.2. In phylogenetic analyses based on the 16S rRNA and rbcLX genes, this strain clustered within the same clade as previously reported D. mucosum. However, in the phylogenetic analysis, it grouped mostly closely with D. smithii, which exhibited the highest nucleotide sequence similarity. Structural variations in Box-B and V3 helices enabled clear differentiation between D. mucosum and D. smithii. Based on these morphological and phylogenetic characteristics, the Dolichospermum strain was identified as D. mucosum, marking its first recorded occurrence in the Republic of Korea.

나바에츠(D. Narvaez)의 윤리적 스킬에 기반한 윤리상담(Ethics Consultation) 기법

The purpose of this study is to explore the techniques of ethics counseling that can be used inelementary school moral education. Ethics consultation can complement the content aspects of moraleducation in that it is possible to have a customized moral guidance considering the situation of thestudent's individual and to have a more in-depth moral dialogue. It can also complement themethodical aspects of moral education because it can overcome the time constraints of moral classin elementary school. Ethics consultation is distinguished from philosophical and psychologicalcounseling in that it directly deals with the morality of the clients, has educational goals, andultimately aims to practice moral behavior. Based on the 4-components model of Rest, Narvaezpresented a list of ethical skills that students should learn to live a happy and excellent life. Narvaez's ethical skills theory and ethics consultation have a common purpose to complement thespecifics and realities of moral education. In this study, the list of Navaez's ethical skills wasreconstructed based on the 'development stage of elementary school students','practicality','theeducational environment of Korea' and 'the 2015 moral curriculum'. The ethics consultation processin this study consists of seven stages and is progressed in the order of 'Name of the skill → What'sgood about learning skill?/Myself who has learned the skills → My current self → Best model → Howto practice the skill → Sponsors/Cheering comments → Celebration party'. At the same time asproposing the ethical consultation process, this study specifically suggested the ethical consultationactivities that could be used in the fifth step, the 'How to practice the skill'. The value of this studylies in that it specifically proposed the techniques of ethics consultation that have not been studiedso far, and connected ethics consultation theories with school demanding ethics consultations. 윤리상담은 학생 개인의 상황을 고려한 맞춤형 도덕지도가 가능하고 보다 심층적인 도덕적 대화를나눌 수 있다는 점에서 도덕교육의 내용적 측면을 보완할 수 있다. 또한 도덕과 수업의 시간적 제약을극복할 수 있어 도덕교육의 방법적 측면을 보완할 수 있다. 기존 연구에서 윤리상담은 크게 내담자의도덕적 건강이나 치유를 지향하는 상담으로 정의되거나, 일상의 문제를 해결하기 위해 윤리학적 관점을이용하는 상담으로 정의되었다. 윤리상담은 내담자의 도덕성을 직접적으로 다루며 교육적 목표를 지니고 궁극적으로 도덕적 행동의 실천을 목표로 한다는 점에서 철학상담 및 심리상담과 구분된다. 본 연구에서는 윤리상담을 ‘도덕적 성찰을 바탕으로 내담자의 윤리적 스킬 습득 및 실천을 촉진하는 상담’으로정의하였다. 나바에츠는 레스트의 4구성요소를 바탕으로 학생들이 행복하고 탁월한 삶을 살아가기 위해 익혀야 할 윤리적 스킬 목록을 제시하였다. 나바에츠의 윤리적 스킬 이론과 윤리상담은 도덕교육의구체성과 현실성을 보완하려는 공통된 목적의식을 지닌다. 그러나 나바에츠의 윤리적 스킬 목록은 미국의 중·고등학생을 대상으로 작성되었고, 그 내용과 범위가 매우 방대하여 한국의 초등학생을 대상으로한 윤리상담에 부적합하다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 나바에츠의 윤리적 스킬 목록을 ‘초등학생의 발달 단계’, ‘실현가능성’, ‘한국의 교육 환경’, ‘2015 도덕과 교육과정’을 기준으로 재구성하였다. 재구성한 윤리상담 절차는 총 7단계로 이루어지며, ‘기술의 이름 → 기술을 배우면 좋은 점/기술을 배운 내 모습→ 현재 나의 모습 → 모범 사례 → 기술 연습 방법 → 후원자/응원 댓글 → 축하활동’의 순서로 진행된다. 본 윤리상담 기법은 초등학생의 발달 단계에 적합하고 도덕적 행동을 습관화하는데 기여하며 도덕적 담화 공동체를 형성하고, 도덕교육 환경을 응원과 지지의 분위기로 변화시킨다는 의의가 있다.

Prolactin-secreting adenomas are the most common pituitary tumors. Menstrual disturbances and infertility are the main complaints in women with prolactinoma. Dopaminergic agonists such as bromocriptine are well-established treatments for prolactinoma when pregnancy is desired. Pregnancy-related outcomes in macroprolactinoma are worse than those in microprolactinoma. In addition, symptomatic tumor expansion during pregnancy occurs in 30% of women with macroprolactinoma. Therefore, when women with macroprolactinoma are planning a pregnancy, serum prolactin level should be normalized and the tumor volume significantly reduced. On the other hand, a spontaneous regression of macroprolactinoma can occur after pregnancy. We report a case of macroprolactinoma showing significant tumor regression during repeated pregnancies and low dose bromocriptine treatment, with a literature review.

고구려 고분벽화에 나타난 문양과 상징성에 관한 고찰

In this thesis, I examined the mental, philosophical aspects and the aesthetic sense of our ancestors through the study of the patterns pictured in the mural paintings of Koguryo dynasty`s old tomb. To view the mode of construction in Koguryo dynasty from present angle, the detailed analysis of the patterns was done. As a result, I could fully understand the formative consciousness of our nation. 1. I defined the process of transition of the mural paintings by putting some 70 mural aintings into the form of a diagram. 2. The cultural aspects of the mural paintings in Koguryo dynasty were characterized by the fusion of our primitive religion and Buddhism, Confucianism and Taoism which were introduced from China. From this fact, I could inferred that Koguryo people were giving off the strong desire for the faith by means of the mural paintings. Further more I found that configuration of the patterns such as religious elements. 3. The types of the patterns were classified into four types, this is, geometric type, natural type, cultural type and abstract type. Among these types, geometric type and natural type were nonsymbolic in nature but became cultured and abstracted in course of time. cultural pattern and abstract pattern got the symbolic meaning in the long run. Of all the constitution of the patterns represented in the mural paintings such as repeat constitution, left and right symmetric constitution, top and bottom symmetric constitution and rotary symmetric constitution, the left and right symmetric constitution was mainly used and some monotony of left and right symmetric constitution. The analysis of motif which was got from the model of the patterns showed that the mixing of symbolic and nonsymbolic patterns made it possible to regard the separate symbol as compound in nonsymbolic patterns and the combination between nonsymbolic patterns ensured the understanding of other patterns in certain cases. Our ancestors mad great efforts to transmit certain meaning symbolically. Also to heighten the symbolism, they drew the meangless patterns firstly and then appended meaning to those patterns secondly. Furthermore, they offered the background to the patterns comblined with symbolism, so that meaning transmission was clarified at last. As mentioned above, the patterns shown in the mural paintings of Koguryo dynasty`s old tomb were characterized by natural beauty. And natural beauty was found out clearly in the form and constitution of the patterns. Therefore I concluded that our nation`s religious, philosophical tradition was acted on the patterns strongly.
