        This paper describes the power line proximity warning device for mobile crane by using the induced voltage measurement method. A mobile crane worker can be easily exposed to dangerous electrical shock and the electrocution while this are working at near the high-voltage electrical lines. In this paper, the derivation electric-potential of the power lines are simulated and microprocessor-based detecting device and transmitter/receiver modules are introduced to show a solution for the dangerous mobile crane working environment.

        In this paper, a wireless heart sound stethoscope system and its characteristic waveform method with an electronic stethoscope, wireless transmitter and receiver modules are proposed. Heart sounds recorded by this system can be easily transmitted to personnel computers using wireless communication devices. moreover, the kinematic model inducing from the human eardrum property is proposed for various heart sounds analysis. The validity of the hardware system of the heart sound characteristic waveform method and normal heart sound signals recorded from on are tested and verified.

        원자현미경을 이용한 마이토마이신 노출 시간에 따른 공막 표면 콜라젠의 변화 관찰

        Purpose: To investigate the effects of mitomycin C on the scleral collagen surfaces using atomic force microscopy (AFM). Methods: Two non-contact mode AFM machines were used to observe changes in the morphological characteristics of human scleral surfaces before and after one, three, and five minutes of 0.02% mitomycin C application. Based on AFM topography and deflection images of the collagen fibril, the morphological characteristics of scleral fibrils including the fibril diameter and D-period were measured using the line profile. Results: The sclera collagen fibril treated with 0.02% mitomycin C for one minute did not show any significant increases in mean fibril diameter (155.04 ± 17.46 nm) or mean D-periodicity (70.02 ± 3.33 nm), compared to those of the control group. However, the scleral collagen fibrils treated with 0.02% mitomycin C for three and five minutes showed significant increases in mean fibril diameter (182.33 ± 16.33 nm, 199.20 ± 12.40 nm, respectively) and mean D-periodicity (70.27 ± 13.66 nm, 72.75 ± 19.32 nm, respectively), compared to those of the control group. Conclusions: The present study examined the structural changes in the scleral collagen fibrils before and after mitomycin C application according to atomic force microscopy. The results indirectly suggest that three or more minutes of 0.02% mitomycin C application affects the morphology of scleral collagen. J Korean Ophthalmol Soc 2011;52(6):671-678

        Fabrication of a SERS-Encoded Microfluidic Paper-Based Analytical Chip for the Point-of-Assay of Wastewater

        New environmental problems have arisen due to the production of numerous toxic materials with the development of industrial technologies. Although various technologies have been developed to solve these critical problems, the results were not satisfactory. Therefore, this study introduces a label-free, paper-based biosensing strip sensor to directly analyze the components of wastewater on site. Raman spectroscopy was used for fingerprinting the chemically-vibrational responses of the wastewater. In order to enhance the low signal intensity of the Raman results, the surface-enhanced Raman scattering (SERS) effect was implemented by using gold nanoparticles (AuNPs). Dense and uniform AuNPs were synthesized and distributed onto paper by a power-free successive ionic layer absorption and reaction (SILAR) method. The biosensing ability of the SERS paper strip showed a sensitivity of 10–10 M and an enhancement factor of 2.8 × 107 for rhodamine 6G. Two organic toxic drugs were selected to mimic wastewater.         얼굴 전산화단층촬영 사진을 이용한 안구용적측정치와 안축장과의 상관관계

        Purpose: To measure the ocular volume from facial computed tomography (CT) scans using a semi-automatic computer program, and to analyze possible correlations between the axial length and ocular volume using regression analysis. Methods: Forty eyes from 20 facial CT scans were used to measure the ocular volumes. The cross-sectional ocular areas were calculated using a semi-automatic program based on MATLAB r2009a (MathWorks, Inc., Natick, MA, USA), and the ocular volumes were calculated from serial cross-sectional areas. The axial lengths were measured by A-scan ultrasound. Statistical analysis including regression analysis was used to determine possible correlations between the ocular volumes and axial lengths. Results: The mean ocular volumes measured in males and females were 7.16 ± 1.80 cm3 and 7.24 ± 3.38 cm3, respectively. The mean axial lengths measured in males and females were 23.47 ± 0.69 mm and 23.23 ± 1.64 mm, respectively. There were positive correlations using Pearson’s correlation coefficient and the partial correlation coefficient adjusted by axial length. Using regression analysis, the following statistically significant equation was derived: (ocular volume [cm3] = 0.0056558 × axial length3 [mm3] ‐ 0.1798106 × axial length2 [mm2] + 32.9008570 [p < 0.001, R2 = 0.384]). Conclusions: The ocular volume measurement tool in this study was noninvasive and very useful, without special equipment. Accurate estimation of ocular volumes by a statistical equation was feasible, and these findings may be helpful in further study of various ocular diseases and in predicting preoperative and postoperative ocular volumes. 목적: 얼굴 전산화단층촬영 영상과 반자동화 프로그램을 이용하여 안구용적을 측정하고 안구용적의 안축장과의 상관관계 및 안구용적을 추정하는 회귀분석을 연구하고자 하였다. 대상과 방법: 얼굴 전산화단층촬영을 시행한 20명, 40안을 대상으로 반자동화 프로그램(MATLAB r2009a, MathWorks, Inc., Natick, MA, USA)을 이용하여 얼굴 전산화단층촬영 사진의 축영상과 관상영상의 안구 단면적을 각각 측정하였고, 측정 단면적을 누적하여 안구용적을 계산하였다. 안축장은 A-scan 초음파를 이용하여 측정되었으며, 안구용적과 안축장 간 회귀분석을 포함한 통계적 분석을 시행하였다. 결과: 안구용적의 측정 결과, 남성은 평균 7.16 ± 1.80 cm3, 여성은 평균 7.24 ± 3.38 cm3였다. 또한 안축장의 측정 결과 남성은 평균 23.47 ± 0.69 mm, 여성은 평균 23.23 ± 1.64 mm로 측정되었으며 안구용적과 안축장은 남녀 간 유의한 차이가 없었다. 안구용적과 안축장은 Pearson 상관계수와 전방깊이를 고려한 편상관계수에서 모두 유의한 양의 상관관계를 보였으며 단순회귀분석을 통해 유의한 통계식이 도출되었다(안구용적[cm3] = 0.0056558 x 안축장3 [mm3] – 0.1798106 x 안축장2 [mm2] + 32.9008570 [p<0.001, R2=0.384]). 결론: 본 연구의 안구용적측정법은 비침습적인 얼굴 전산화단층촬영을 이용한 것으로 특별한 장치 없이 안구용적을 측정하는데 매우 유용한 도구이다. 본 연구의 안축장과의 통계식을 통해 안구용적의 추정 또한 정확하게 할 수 있을 것으로 기대되며 이들을 통해 여러 안질환 및 수술 전후 안구용적에 대한 추가 연구에 도움이 될 수 있을 것으로 생각된다.

        얼굴 전산화 단층촬영 사진을 이용한 안와 용적의 측정

        목적: 얼굴 전산화 단층촬영 사진의 축영상과 관상영상을 반자동화 프로그램을 이용하여 안와 용적을 측정 및 비교하고자 하였다. 대상과 방법: 얼굴 전산화 단층촬영을 시행한 30대 정상 성인 남성 17명, 여성 18명에 대하여, 안와 용적의 측정이 가능한 반자동화프로그램(MATLAB 2009a)을 이용하여 얼굴 전산화 단층촬영 사진의 축영상과 관상영상의 안와 단면적을 각각 측정하였고, 측정 단면적을 누적하여 안와 용적을 계산하여 이를 비교 분석하여 보았다. 결과: 안와 용적의 측정 결과, 남성은 축영상에서 우측 26.34 ± 3.09 cm3, 좌측 26.30 ± 3.21 cm3, 관상영상에서 우측 26.58 ±2.76 cm3, 좌측 26.59 ± 2.75 cm3로 측정되었으며, 여성은 축영상에서 우측 23.84 ± 2.29 cm3, 좌측 23.89 ± 2.33 cm3, 관상영상에서 우측 24.06 ± 2.90 cm3, 좌측 24.10 ± 2.82 cm3로 측정되었다. 축영상과 관상영상을 통해 계산한 안와 용적은 유의한 양의 상관관계(r=+0.832, p=0.0001)를 보였고, 안와 용적의 평균값은 유의한 차이를 보이지 않았다(p=0.006). 결론: 본 연구 결과에서 얼굴 전산화 단층촬영 사진은 비침습적인 방법으로 특별한 추가 장치 없이 안와 용적을 측정하는 데에 매우유용한 도구이며, 이 방법을 통해 여러 안질환에서 안와 용적 변화에 대한 추가 연구에 도움이 될 수 있을 것으로 생각한다. Purpose: To measure the orbital volume from facial CT scans using a semi-automatic computer program. Methods: Axial and coronal slices of 35 facial CT scans were used to measure the orbital volume. The cross-sectional area was determined from each slice using a semi-automated computer program (MATLAB 2009a). Next, the orbital volume was calculated from serial reconstruction of the cross-sections. Results: The measured value in males was 26.34 ± 3.09 cm3 in the right orbit and 26.30 ± 3.21 cm3 in the left orbit from axial scans, and 26.58 ± 2.76 cm3 in the right orbit and 26.59 ± 2.75 cm3 in the left orbit from coronal scans. In females, the values were 23.84 ± 2.29 cm3 in the right orbit and 23.89 ± 2.33 cm3 in the left orbit from axial scans, and 24.06 ± 2.90 cm3 in the right orbit and 24.10 ± 2.82 cm3 in the left orbit from coronal scans. There was high positive correlation (r = +0.832, p = 0.0001) in measured orbital volume between axial and coronal scans. Conclusions: The orbital volume measurement from facial CT scans using a semi-automatic computer program is very useful. This method should prove useful in further studies examining the correlation of orbital volume variation in many ophthalmologic disorders.

        인공 치아우식 발생 모델에서 디지털 방사선 공제술을 이용한 인접면 치아우식증의 진단

        Purpose : The purpose of the experiment was to evaluating the diagnostic ability of dental caries detection using digital subtraction in the artificial caries activity model. Materials and Methods : Digital radiographies of five teeth with 8 proximal surfaces were obtained by CCD sensor (Kodak RVG 6100 using a size #2). The digital radiographic images and subtraction images from artificial proximal caries were examined and interpreted. In this study, we proposed novel caries detection method which could diagnose the dental proximal caries from single digital radiographic image. Results : In artificial caries activity model, the range of lesional depth was 572-1,374 μm and the range of lesional area was 36.95-138.52mm². The lesional depth and the area were significantly increased with demineralization time (p<0.001). Furthermore, the proximal caries detection using digital subtraction radiography showed high detection rate compared to the proximal caries examination using simple digital radiograph. Conclusion : The results demonstrated that the digital subtraction radiography from single radiographic image of artificial caries was highly efficient in the detection of dental caries compared to the data from simple digital radiograph.
