■ Objectives The goal of this study is to find the correlation between the motor function and gait pattern of stroke patients. ■ Methods We measured Manual muscle test(MMT), Motricity index(MI) and Spatiotemporal gait parameters of admitted hemiplegic patients with stroke. The gait parameters were measured using a Treadmill gait system. ■ Results There is a significant correlation between motor function and spatiotemporal parameters such as step length, stride length, step time, stride time, total double support or cadence, in stroke patients. ■ Conclusion The better motor function of stroke was, the more gait improved.
편심유공합성보의 종국내력 및 변형능력에 관한 실험적 연구

유공합성보는 공기조화설비등의 각종 배관으로 인한 용적률의 저하를 완화할 수 있고, 바람과 같은 수평력에 의한 층모멘트 감소등의 구조적 측면에서도 유용하다. 또한 휨강성도 증가되어 하중에 의한 처짐이 적어지고 진동하중이나 충격하중에도 유리하게 되어 건축물의 강성 및 내력을 높이기 위해 사용되고 있다. 그러나 개구부 위치 및 편심여부에 따라 외력에 대한 구조적인 거동이 달라지게 되므로 이에 대한 적절한 검토가 요구된다. 이에 본 논문은 편심유공합성보의 종국내력 및 변형능력에 관한 실험적 연구로서, 무공합성보인 기준시험체와 중심 및 상 하 편심유공합성보 시험체의 실험 및 이론적 고찰을 통하여 각 시험체들의 항복 및 최대내력, 휨 및 전단강성, 개구부주위의 응력분포, 그리고 모멘트-전단력 상관관계등의 구조적 특성을 규명코자 한다. Web openings of large beams provide space for wiring, piping, and duct work to provide for proper drainage, pipes and duct must be slightly sloped with the attendant result that all web openings can not be centered on the centroidal axes of the beams. Test specimens are made for opening-depth to beam-depth ratio of 0.5 and for eccentricities of the opening center line of 10% from middepth of the beam because of the proximity of the opening edge to the flange. In this paper, available test results and theories relating to the strength of composite beams having eccentric rectangular openings are surveyed and experiments were carried out to examine the structural behaviors. In all the tests in this paper good agreement is demonstrated with maximum loads measured in tests, and observed failure modes Furthermore, compared with analytical values and experimental values of interaction diagram between moment and shear capacity were safed as it is scattered with outer part of the analytical values.

■ Objectives The goal of this pilot study is to observe the change of gait pattern in a patient after peroneal nerve electrical stimulation(PNST). ■ Methods We analyzed the gait pattern of stroke patient using treadmill gait analysis system before and after PNST for seven weeks. The PNST was carried out for 20minutes every day except Sunday. In addition, the measurement was carried out every Saturday. At the fifth week, the PNST was not carried out to confirm whether the effect of PNST was disappeared immediately when PNST was not applied. ■ Results After PNST, while heel contact time and heel max force increased and forefoot and midfoot max force decreased, the gait parameters such as cadence, velocity, swing phase, stance phase, total double support, step length, stride length, step time, stride time and forefoot contact time, were not changed. ■ Conclusion Gait of a patient with cerebral stroke was changed positively after PNST.

A model for the strenghth of composite beams with reinfforced web openings is presented. All of theh models are based on the static theorem of ultimated strength of reinforced rectangular perforated composite beam and is compared to the test.

The following study reviewed the walking patterns of stroke patients with hemiplegia, which is called hemiplegic gait of stroke patients. Focusing is given to the changes in the distance and temporal factors of walking, which is called spatiotemporal characteristics, throughout the walking cycle. First, we introduced the definitions of essential terms related to gait and its measure. Second, we reviewed the spatiotemporal characteristics of hemiplegic gait. A main issue was that hemiplegic gait showed significant deviations from normal healthy gait. Although hemiplegia is primarily associated with unilateral motor disorder, changes in almost all spatiotemporal parameters used to assess walking were evident on both the involved and uninvolved sides of the body. Last, we reviewed the changes of spatiotemporal parameters of hemiplegic gait according to the prognosis or status of stroke patients, which may help to give a specific intervention for rehabilitation of stroke.

■ Objectives The goal of this pilot study is to observe the change of gait pattern according to the clinical status in a patient with ataxic gait by cerebellar infarction. ■ Methods We measured the spatiotemporal gait parameters of a patient with ataxic gait four times, in which, first, the patient was not able to walk independently, second, able to walk independently, third, unable to walk independently by general tremor, and, last, able to walk independently after disappearing of general tremor. ■ Results When a patient with cerebellar ataxic gait was able to walk independently and the cerebellar tremor was disappeared, the change of gait pattern was that step and stride length decreased and total double support and stance phase increased. ■ Conclusion When different clinical characteristics were improved, the change of gait showed same pattern.
