Objectives A neural circuit including amygdala, the hippocampal complex and prefrontal cortex was associated with deficits in facial processing in schizophrenia. These deficits have a significant impact on social functioning in schizophrenia. Both neuropsychological deficits and brain structural abnormalities in first-degree relatives of schizophrenia patients suggest that they may also have the deficit in facial information processing as genetic factors. The purpose of this study was to explore the dysfunction of facial information processing in first-degree relatives of schizophrenia patients using functional magnetic neuroimaging (fMRI). Methods Ten non-affected siblings of schizophrenic patients and 10 normal comparison subjects having no schizophrenic siblings underwent fMRI during the dynamic facial change procedure consisting of presentations of facial emotion and gender discrimination stimuli. The emotion discrimination condition consisted of the presentation of 12 happy faces and 12 disgust/fear faces. The gender discrimnation condition consisted of the presentation of 12 male faces and 12 female faces. Condition-specific brain activations were compared between non-affected siblings and normal comparison subjects Results The facial information processing related brain regions including fusiform gyrus, several areas of frontal, temporal, occipital, and cerebellar regions exhibited more activation during gender discrimination than emotion discrimination tasks in each group. During gender discrimination task, siblings of schizophrenic patients showed less activation in right fusiform gyrus, both middle and superior frontal gyrus, left cuneus, and left inferior frontal gyrus, compared with normal comparison subjects. Conclusion Dysfunctional facial information processing, such as a deficit in gender discrimination, might be an endophenotype of schizophrenia.

This study performed field examinations of a zero discharge and reuse system developed by Hong and Choi(2009). The system installed one of villages located in Hyoryeong-myeon, Gunwee-gun for the experiments. The zero discharge and reuse system consists of anoxic, FES (Ferrous Electricity System), Oxic, Cralifier processes for water treatments. The main feature of the system is to remove phosphorous by using Fe-ionizing module within the FES process. The water purification performances of the system were evaluated, while any defects for using the system were investigated through the field monitoring. It was found that the removal capacities of T-P, T-N, and BOD of the system meet the required water quality with outstanding performance from T-P by obtaining the results of over 90 % removal rates. The efficiency of T-P removal rate of the system found to be greatly influenced by whether using an automatic washing system to the Fe-ionizing module and conducting replacement of iron plate within a proper period.

Employing the resource based and relations based theories of firm, this study examined the factors affecting the partnership between small & medium domestic manufacturers and overseas logistics firms. The study identifies two main channels of influence — namely firm specific resource (manufacturing capability, brand Awareness) and relational resources (role Clarity, reliability) — and tests the structural relations with competitive advantage and financial performance of the partnership. Using SmartPLS 2.0, the test reveals that the statistically significant positive factors on competitive advantage are reliability, brand recognition, and manufacturing capability. Further, consistent with many previous studies, this study confirms that for Korean small & medium manufacturers as well, competitive advantage of partnership has statistically positive significance on financial performance.
중국 콜드체인 물류시스템 내 식품의 안전성 저해 요인에 관한 연구 - 산동성을 중심으로 -

In recent years, China’s cold chain market has been growing rapidly, but it still lags behind other nations in terms of scale and efficiency. This poor condition has had a harmful influence on consumer’s health safety, in addition to bringing heavy financial losses to manufacturing, processing and logistics companies. In response, the Chinese government recently announced various policies to improve the cold chain system. They include measures to construct a more advanced and safer cold chain infrastructure, to enhance the logistics standard system, and to encourage the establishment of specialized cold chain firms. This study examines the current conditions and policies affecting China’s cold chain system and identifies the threat factors adversely influencing food safety in China by conducting a survey of cold chain companies currently operating in Shandong Province. Using the AHP analysis method, the study presents the relative weight and order of the threat factors.

Rheumatoid arthritis as one of the chronic illness requiring management in long period of time puts great burden to patients, their family and society. For patients with chronic illnesses, providing a social support is important and the most important source comes from spouses. Therefore we assessed burden of husbands of female rheumatoid arthritic patients and also found out the factors affecting burden. The sample of study was 107 female rheumatoid arthritic patients and their spouses. The tool of assessing spouses' burden was the revised version of subjective and objective parameters developed by Montgomery et at,(1985). The results are as follows: 1. General characteristics of patients and spouses: The mean age of the patients was 48 years. Educational level of patients was high school 41.1%. The mean age of the spouses was 51years. Educational level of spouses was mostly high school(40.2%) and college(29.9%) graduate, The mean marital period was 23.4years. Average income per month was 1,609,000 won. The average duration since diagnosis was 9.4years. As a therapy, 67.3% chose standard drug therapy. Average rating of discomfort by Patient was 3.05(range1-5) and that of severity was 3.48 and that of dependency was 2.58. The husband's rating of their spouses disease severity was 3.68. 2. Husbands' burden : The average burden in subjective items was 21.61(range 6-36) and objective items was 35.24(range 10-60). The average of total burden was 56.59(range 16-96). 3. Husband's total burden correlated with patient's age, educational level of patients, therapy method, Patient's level of discomfort, patient's severity, patient's level of dependence, husband's recognition of level of severity in statistical level. Husband's objective burden correlated with patient's age, educational level of patient, Patient's level of discomfort, husband's recognition of level of severity. Husband's subjective burden correlated with Patient's age, educational level of patients, therapy method, patient's severity, patient's level of dependence, husband's recognition of level of severity. 4. Linear correlation analysis on burden: The husbands' total burden is explained in 37.7% by husband's recognition of level of severity and husband's age. The husbands' objective burden is explained in 31.2% by patient's level of dependence, husband's age, husband's recognition of level of severity. The husbands' subjective burden is explained in 26.7% by husband's recognition of level of severity and patient's age. In conclusion, husbands' level of burden is affected by many factors and therefore nursing strategy for relieving burden of middle aged husbands should be individualized taking these factors into consideration.

This study investigated the effects of NPS(non point source) pollution reduction of sediment traps through field experiments. Various sizes of 4 sediment traps were applied in a upland field located in Gunwi and assessed the infiltration and storage effects as well as NPS pollution reduction effects of this technique. The characteristics of deposited soil in the sediment traps were also analyzed including distribution of particle size, soil texture, and chemical properties. The results showed that slightly different composition of soil particle size from each sediment trap with high proportion of 0.15mm and 0.25mm ranges of soil particle diameters, while the loamy sand is the main types of deposited soils in the sediment traps. Decreased NPS pollution were observed from the water quality analysis of the samples taken from the sediment traps. Further research need to be proceeded continuously to improve this technique in order to utilize on upland fields for management of agricultural NPS pollutions.
