This study examined differences in gender, age and educational status to find out the veracity of incompetency strategy in gratitude speech act. In daily life, Koreans often express incompetency in the context where their gratitude has to be expressed. It could mean that incompetency strategy is used to express continuous relationship, particular types of thoughts and value criterion in Korean culture. To prove this point, a survey by questionnaire which consists of psychologically grateful situations was conducted. The findings of the study are as follows. First, there were no significant differences in gender, age and educational status in relation to the veracity of the incompetency strategy in gratitude speech act used by each group. Second, incompetency strategy in gratitude speech act was a general trend in the Korean speech community, especially in psychological situations.

The aim of this study is to show the degree of feeling of Gomapseupnida in Korean. in daily conversation, Koreans generally say the expression as appreciation. But we might be wondering if it is a real feeling cc- not it means that the feeling of Gomapseupnida could be different in various situations. Austin(1962) and Searle(1969) said we need Preparatory condition, Sincerity condition and Essential condition that am rules on speech ad. Despite the theory, speech actors might have different intention in violation of the rule, in this regard this paper fries to find out the degree of feeling of Gomapseupnida The model situations of Gomapseupnida are divided into four categories such as Physical appreciation, Material appreciation, Psychological appreciation and Formal appreciation. All these data are collected by the questionnaire which consists of various questions to find out the result The factors of the survey are gender, age, level of education, religion, job and income.
