        인지적 구성주의에 근거한 의학교육의 발전 방향

        This study introduces cognitive constructivism in reference to its emergence in the development of medical education. The main concepts of cognitive constructivism as they relate to knowledge construction and the learner’s process were described, and cognitive constructivism as a learning theory was examined in its capacity to help interpret the phenomenon of medical education. Piaget’s theory of cognitive constructivism and Ausubel’s meaningful learning theory were applied in an attempt to explore the role of students and educators, curriculum, and teaching and learning in medical education from a cognitive constructivist perspective. When faced with new information, learners compare it with the existing schema to understand, and in order to resolve conflicts caused by inconsistencies in the information, learners incorporate assimilation and accommodation to help maintain equilibration. Therefore, instructors must meaningfully connect new content to the learner’s existing schema and make endless efforts to satisfy learners’ intellectual curiosity. The basic premises of medical education content is a suitable subject of meaningful learning. A learner who already possesses well-structured knowledge is likely to experience meaningful learning and a richer intellectual experience. Therefore, it is necessary to organize the curriculum strategically and elaborately so that learners can have an improved and effective learning experience.

        의과대학생의 성취목표지향성과 완벽주의가 학업적 자기효능감과 학업성취에 미치는 영향

        The purpose of this study is to explore the effects of achievement goal orientation and perfectionism on the academic self-efficacy and achievement of medical students. 189 students of K medical school in D city participated in this survey. The results of regression analysis are as follows. Firstly, the scores of mastery-approach and mastery-avoidance significantly impacted on the total score of academic self-efficacy(p<.001). 44% of self-efficacy and 10% of achievement were explained by the two orientation variables. Secondly, self-oriented and socially prescribed perfectionism significantly impacted on the self-efficacy and predicted 27% of total variance. Self-oriented perfectionism predicted 5% of achievement. The suggestions based on the research findings are as follows. For the improvement of students' self-efficacy and achievement, differentiated learning support and guidance need to be provided by mastery-approach and mastery-avoidance factors of achievement goal orientation as well as self-oriented and social prescribed perfectionism. In addition, it is suggested that other comparative studies with another students' group and longitudinal study of medical students need to be conducted. 본 연구는 성취목표지향성과 완벽주의가 의과대학생의 학업적 자기효능감과 학업성취에 어떤 영향을 미치는지를 알아보기 위한 것으로, 대구소재 K의과대학에 재학 중인 의학과 1, 2, 3학년 학생 189명이 본 연구에 참여하였다. 그 결과, 성취목표지향성 중 숙달접근과 숙달회피가 학업적 자기효능감 전체에 유의한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났으며(p<.001), 전체 변화량의 44%를 설명하고 있었다. 학업성취에 대해서도 전체 변화량의 10%가 이들 변인들에 의해 설명되었다. 다차원적 완벽주의 중 자기지향 완벽주의와 사회부과 완벽주의가 학업적 자기효능감 전체에 유의한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났으며(p<.001), 전체 변화량의 27%를 설명하고 있었다. 학업성취에 있어서는 자기지향 완벽주의가 5%의 설명력을 가지고 있었다. 따라서 의과대학생들의 학업적 자기효능감과 학업성취를 증진시키기 위해서는 성취목표지향성의 숙달접근 및 숙달회피지향성과 다차원적 완벽주의 중 자기지향 및 사회적으로 부과된 완벽주의 요인을 고려하여 차별화된 학습지원 및 학생생활 안내를 제공할 필요가 있다. 아울러 본 연구의 결과가 의과대학생의 집단특성인지, 아니면 발달적 특성인지를 알아보기 위하여 타 집단과의 비교연구와 종단적인 연구를 제안한다.

        의과대학생의 학업적 실패내성과 학업적 자기효능감에 따른 성취목표지향성의 차이

        The purpose of this study is to explore the variables maintaining academic adjustment and learning of medical students. In other words, to see the differences of achievement goal orientation of medical students according to the academic failure tolerance and self-efficacy. To accomplish the above object, 184 students of medical school participated in the survey. The results of this study are as follow. Firstly, the group of high score for academic failure tolerance showed high score in mastery-approach goal but low score in mastery-avoidance goal and performance-avoidance goal significantly. Secondly, they showed differences in achievement goal orientation according to the task difficulty preference, feeling, behavior which were sub-variables of academic failure tolerance. And also, the group showing high level of feeling showed low score in mastery-avoidance goal, performance-avoidance goal and performance-approach goal. Thirdly, the group of high level in academic self-efficacy showed high score in mastery-approach goal but low score in mastery-avoidance goal and performance-avoidance goal significantly. Also, showed the differences in achievement goal orientation according to the task difficulty preference, self-regulatory efficacy and self-confidence which were the sub-variables of academic self-efficacy. Lastly, there was statistical difference in school achievement among four groups divided by the level of achievement goal orientation. The suggestions based on the research findings are as follows. The ways to support students' learning and counseling need to be provided by considering the level of students' academic failure tolerance, academic self-efficacy and achievement goal orientation to maintain the academic adjustment and learning of medical students. 본 연구는 의과대학생들의 학업적 적응과 학습 유지를 위한 요인이 무엇인지를 탐색하기 위한 것으로, 학업적 실패내성 수준과 학업적 자기효능감 수준에 따라 성취목표지향성에 어떤 차이가 있는지를 알아보기 위한 것이었다. 이를 위하여 대구소재 K의과대학 소속 의학과 1, 2, 3학년 184명이 조사대상자로 참여하였다. 그 결과, 학업적 실패내성 전체 점수가 높은 집단의 숙달접근 점수가 높았으며, 숙달회피와 수행회피 점수가 통계적으로 유의하게 낮았다. 또한 학업적 실패내성의 하위요인인 과제수준선호, 감정, 행동에 따라 성취목표지향성에 차이가 있었으며, 특히 감정수준이 높은 집단의 숙달회피, 수행회피, 수행접근 점수가 낮은 것으로 나타났다. 학업적 자기효능감 수준에 따른 성취목표지향성의 차이를 살펴본 결과, 학업적 자기효능감 전체 점수가 높은 집단의 숙달접근 점수가 높았으며, 숙달회피와 수행회피 점수가 통계적으로 유의하게 낮은 것으로 나타났다. 또한 학업적 자기효능감의 하위요인인 과제수준선호, 자기조절효능감 그리고 자신감 수준에 따라 성취목표지향성에 차이가 있었다. 조사대상자를 성취목표지향성에 따라 4개 집단으로 나눈 후, 이들 집단 간 성적을 비교해본 결과, 통계적으로 유의한 차이가 있었다. 이러한 결과에 기반하여 의과대학생들의 학업적 적응과 학습 유지를 위해서는 학업적 실패내성과 학업적 자기효능감, 그리고 성취목표지향성 수준에 따른 학습지원 및 상담지원 방안을 모색할 필요가 있다.

        Diversity of Emotional Intelligence among Nursing and Medical Students

        Objectives: The purpose of this study is to identify the types of perception of emotional intelligence among nursing and medical students and their characteristics using Q methodology, and to build the basic data for the development of a program for the would-be medical professionals to effectively adapt to various clinical settings in which their emotions are involved. Methods: Data were collected from 35 nursing and medical students by allowing them to classify 40 Q statements related to emotional intelligence and processed using the PC QUANL program. Results: The perceptions of emotional intelligence by nursing and medical students were categorized into three types: “sensitivity-control type”, “sympathy-motivation type”, and “concern-sympathy type”. Conclusion: The perceptions of emotional intelligence by nursing and medical students can represent an effective coping strategy in a situation where emotion is involved. In the medical profession, an occupation with a high level of emotional labor, it is important to identify the types of emotional intelligence for an effective coping strategy, which may have a positive effect on the performance of an organization. Based on the findings of this study, it is necessary to plan an education program for vocational adaptability for nursing and medical students by their types.

        의과대학·의학전문대학원생의 학업소진 양상과 관련 변인들과의 관계

        The purpose of this study was to investigate the influence of demographic data, academic demand, perfectionism, and academic failure tolerance on academic burnout of medical and graduate students at Yeungnam University. A mixed method study was conducted. Fourteen students participated in a focus group interview and 302 students, including 151 medical students and 151 graduate students, completed a survey, which addressed the factors of academic burnout, academic demand, perfectionism, and academic failure tolerance. There were significant differences in the academic burnout by age and year in school. The 2nd year medical & graduate students experienced significantly higher academic burnout than the other students. Multiple regression analysis revealed that academic burnout of medical and graduate students was significantly affected by academic demand (p<0.001), self-oriented and socially-prescribed perfectionism (p<0.001, p<0.01), and feeling and behavior, which were sub-factors of academic failure tolerance (p<0.05, p<0.01). It is suggested that comparative studies with other student groups, a longitudinal study of medical and graduate students, and a prospective study of coping styles and methods of preventing academic burnout need to be conducted.

        공동체화폐운동의 소비자주의적 함의 연구 : 한밭레츠에 참여하는 소비자의 경험을 중심으로

        The purpose of this study was to explore the meaning of consumerism of Community Currency Movement through an analysis of the consumer experience of Hanbat-LETS participants. Consumerism is also an effort to try to brings to solution of the market economy system’s problem, for example the unequal problem of between corporation and consumer. Hanbat-LETS is the active institution which is the most active in the midst of Korea Community Currency, so Hanbat-LETS is selected by the subject of this study. The analytical methods adopted in this study were the participation & observation method and the Focus Group & In-depth Interview method. Major findings of this study were as follows: Hanbat-LETS participants experienced the following consumer experience ; the creation of value through the exchange trade, the solidarity shared with community, the experience free for the need of competition and ownership, the satisfaction from offering oneself property, the practice of sustainable consumption life. Community Currency Movement imply the following meaning of consumerism. First, the autonomous participation, Second, the practice of environment-friendly value, Third, the development of oneself ability, Fourth, the construction of trust society through belief, Fifth, the realization of community society. Therefore it is proved Community Currency Movement is a complementary institution of the monetary system and a desirable and new-style economical institution that cure the anxiety and relative comparison, alienation. This study is significant as a exploratory work probing the participants of Community Currency Movement and the extension of scope of consumerism and consumption study.

        의과대학에서의 교육풍토, 자기주도 학습, 그리고 창의적 사고에 대한 고찰 - 타 대학 유사전공 학생들과의 비교를 기반으로 -

        This study was carried out to investigate the present states of self-directed learning attitudes and creative thinking abilities of students, and of educational climate in a medical school as the first step of a study for competency based educations in medical schools. We conducted a test for self-directed learning attitudes in 168 students of medical school and 4 focus-group-interviews about the climate for creative thinking and self-directed learning environment in 20 students of a medical school and an engineering school. We compared the results between the both schools. In the test composed of six sub-areas for self-directed learning attitudes carrying on 168 medical students, each score of ‘Creativity & Seek Originality' and 'Self-Reflection on Learning' was lower than that of other four sub-areas. Comparing the results of the test carrying on the interviewed students in the both schools, the scores of four sub-areas including ‘Passion of Learning', 'Self-esteem about Learning and Tasks', 'Positive Self-expectation' and 'Autonomy' in the medical school were significantly lower than those in the engineering school. However, there was no significant difference in 'Creative Thinking’ between the both schools. In the focus group interviews for educational climate, there were significant differences in the relationships of students-professors, colleagues, and grades, and in self-directed learning attitudes between the both schools. As a result, it is required to concentrate concerns on the development of appropriate educational climate and self-directed learning of medical students for fostering competent medical doctors in the future. 본 연구는 의과대학 역량기반 교육에 관한 논의의 첫 단계로 1개 의과대학(A)과 1개 공과대학(B) 학생들과의 인터뷰와 조사를 통해 의과대학의 교육풍토와 학생들의 자기주도 학습태도, 그리고 창의적 사고에 대하여 알아본 것이다. 168명의 의과대학생을 대상으로 자기주도 학습태도를 살펴본 결과, 6개의 하위 영역 중 ‘독창성과 새로움의 추구’ 요인과 ‘학습에 대한 자기성찰’요인의 점수가 타 요인보다 낮은 것으로 나타났다. 2개 대학의 인터뷰 대상자들 간 비교 결과, 창의성에 있어서는 집단 간 차이가 없었으나 자기주도 학습태도에 있어서는 ‘학습에 대한 애정’, ‘학습 및 과제에 대한 효능감’, ‘자신에 대한 긍정적 기대’, ‘학습에 있어서의 자율성’의 4개 요인에서 A대학 학생들이 B대학 학생들에 비해 유의하게 낮은 것으로 나타났다. 교육풍토에 대한 인터뷰에서는 교수, 선후배, 동료들 관의 관계, 학습과 관련된 측면에서 집단 간 차이가 있었으며, 미래의 역량 있는 의사 양성을 위해 의과대학에서 어떤 문화를 창출하고 공유하고 전수할 것인지에 대한 논의가 요구된다.

        한국형 임상실습 교육환경 평가척도 타당화

        In light of the need for a tool to evaluate the clinical practice education environment as perceived by medical and nursing students, this study is was conducted to develop and validate the Korean version of the Undergraduate Clinical Education Environment Measure (K-UCEEM) as a measurement tool for managing the clinical practice education climate and quality of education. For validation, the UCEEM consisting of 25 items developed by Pia Strand in 2013 was adapted according to standard translation procedures. The K-UCEEM questionnaire was administered to 73 medical students and 135 nursing students who participated in clinical practice at one medical institution. Exploratory factor analysis and confirmatory factor analysis were conducted to confirm the validity of the instrument's structure. In order to determine referential validity, the relationships among stresses in clinical practice were examined, and differences in factor scores were compared by gender and college. It was confirmed that the scale of 24 items and five factors showed a moderate model fitness index. The reliability of the factors ranged from 0.786 to 0.867. In addition, all five factors were found to have negative correlations with the clinical practice stress sub-factor, and there were statistically significant differences by gender and college. Through this study, the validity and reliability of the K-UCEEM were verified. In the future, it is expected that further verification of the scale, as well as evaluation and improvement of the clinical practice education environment based on this scale, will occur.
