        Analysis of Research Trends Related to Child Counseling

        The study analyzed research trends related to child counseling mainly based on doctoral dissertations in Korea. The study analyzed collected research data by year, media type, and address factors focusing on domestic doctoral dissertations. The research year surveyed was from 2000 to 2020 with a total of 709 publications. The research issues were examined according to the trends of child counseling-related degrees, year, media type, and residential address factors. First, in terms of research trends by year, it was the highest with 67 articles (9.4%) in 2019. The results of research analysis by media type were 281 articles (35.2%) on art media (using natural objects, cognitive-behavioral approach, solution-centered and reality therapy approach, etc.) The research trend of each home appeal factor related to child counseling was found on 279 articles (33.7%) on emotional factors (ADHD, behavioral disorder, depressive lethargy, autism and autism spectrum, anxiety, etc.). This can be said to be a part that emphasizes the specificity and expertise of counseling for children in the developmental process. In addition, since verbal self-expression is in the process of development, one can state that counseling using more diverse media is emphasized. Lastly, as in the analysis of research trends by home appeal factor, it suggests that the area of child counseling should be more specialized in emotional factors (ADHD, behavioral disorder, depressive lethargy, autism and autism spectrum, anxiety, etc.).

        영화 속의 지역어 사용과 지역 정체성 만들기 -부산 배경 영화를 중심으로-

        지역 정체성은 내부 지역인들의 자기정체성과 외부에 의해 규정 되는 외부정체성 간의 관계에 의해 형성되고, 이것은 한번 형성되면 그대 로 굳어지는 것이 아니라 끊임없이 재해석되고 재구성된다. 이 글에서는 외부에서 규정되는 정체성의 한 양상을, 부산 지역을 배경으로 하는 영화 에 나타나는 남녀 지역어 사용자들의 언어 사용 방식을 통해 살펴보았다. 그 결과 여러 영화에서 가장 두드러지게 반복되는 욕설, 은어와 같은 비 속어의 사용, 폭력적인 표현, 직설적인 화법 등을 통해서 부산은 ‘상스럽 고 거칠다’는 특성을 가진 공간으로 규정된다. 또 부산 여자들의 언어 사 용을 통해서는 ‘억척스럽다’는 특성을 가진 공간으로, 남자들의 언어 사용 을 통해서는 ‘의리’와 ‘정’이 있는 공간, ‘순박함’이 남아있는 공간으로 규정 된다. 다양한 삶이 존재하는 일상의 공간인 부산을, 영화에서 이런 방식 으로 규정하는 것은 서울 중심의 시선에 의한 것이다. 서울 중심의 시선에서 보면, 부산은 아직도 주변적이며 전근대적인 특성이 남아 있고, 순 박함과 정이 있는 고향 같은 공간이다. 이러한 시선으로 만들어진 영화가 대중들에게 소비됨으로써 부산의 정체성은 영화가 규정하는 대로 만들어 진다. 그리고 결국에는 내부 지역인들의 지역에 대한 인식에까지 영향을 끼치게 되고, 이렇게 순환론적인 과정을 통해 지역 정체성은 계속적으로 재구성되어 간다. 그리고 그 과정의 어느 지점에서 지역인들과 외부인들 은 지역에 대해 동일한 인식을 공유하게 된다.

        Benign leiomyoma is the most common tumor of the uterus, but it is extremely rare in vulva. A leiomyoma appears as a firm movable tumor deep in the labium major, labium minor, and occasionally in the vagina, etc. A leiomyoma is mostly asymptomatic and benign, but large sized myoma in vulva may have a pressure symptom. It has to be removed to prevent further growing and sarcomatous change in the future. We report a case of leiomyoma of the vulva with brief review of literatures.

        언어표상을 통한 로컬리티 구성 : 동래 지역을 중심으로

        Under the premise that human being’s language is formed in a social world, this study aimed to compose locality through language representation by targeting the Dongnae region, which is recognized as Busan’s traditional place. For this, the relation between language representation that have been generated by local Dongnae residents and Dongnae’s historical and social characteristics was examined, and local residents’ consciousness that has been reflected on such representation was looked into. Based on the fact that Dongnae was the beginning of present Busan and center of administration and education, Dongnae residents possess the central consciousness of expanding traits of place, and generation differences in feelings of envy and jealousy for the past Busan region were observed. Currently in Dongnae-gu, 'history' is set and summoned as the region’s symbol for the instillation of consciousness in local residents and economic developments. Local residents either agree with the intention of local governments or are affected by it in certain parts. However, behind this, the 'community consciousness' based on the 'place' of Dongnae as a living place, which is different from the intention of creating a local government, is located. 이 연구에서는 인간의 언어가 사회적 세계에서 형성된다는 전제 하에,부산에서 전통적 공간으로 인식되고 있는 동래 지역을 대상으로, 언어표상을 통해 로컬리티를 구성해보고자 하였다. 이를 위해 동래 지역 사람들에 의해 생성된 언어표상과 동래의 역사적․사회적 특징의 관련성을 살피고, 이러한 표상에 반영된 지역인들 의식을 살펴보았다. 동래 사람들은 동래가 현재 부산의 출발점이었다는 사실과 행정, 교육의 중심이었다는 사실을 바탕으로 장소의 특성을 확장시킨 중심의식을 가지고 있으며, 과거 부산 지역에 대한 선망과 질시의 감정에서 세대에 따른 차이를 보였다. 현재 동래구에서는 지역인으로서의 의식 고취와 경제 발전을 위해, ‘역사’를 지역의 표상으로 선정하고 호출한다. 지역인들은 지자체의 의도에 동의하거나 혹은 일정 부분 영향을 받고 있다. 하지만 그 이면에는 지자체가 만들어가려는 의도와는 또 다른, 삶의 터로서의 동래라는 ‘장소’에 기반한 ‘공동체 의식’이 자리하고 있다.

        A study of peer feedback patterns in CMC modes on Korean EFL students

        This study explores the differences between EFL students' peer feedback patterns using two different CMC modes, synchronous mode (chatting) and asynchronous mode (bulletin board) in Korean EFL writing classes. After writing the first draft of an argumentative essay, 20 participants received their feedback by bulletin board and 18 received theirs through chatting. Participants' attitudes towards peer feedback using either chatting or bulletin board were investigated through the questionnaire. Peer feedback editing texts of chatting and bulletin board were quantitatively and qualitatively analyzed. The results show that the participants who were grouped in the bulletin board class provided larger amount of peer feedback than the chatting class in terms of frequency. Various peer feedback patterns were identified to indicate the clear distinction from the chatting and the bulletin board. As for the questionnaire, most participants found peer feedback useful regardless of using either chatting or bulletin boards. The findings of this study support that both CMC tools helped the need and effectiveness of peer feedback in EFL writing environment.

        An Analysis of Synchronous Interaction and its Influence on EFL Writers’ Revisions

        This study investigated the effects of synchronous online peer feedback on the revision changes made in the subsequent drafts. The researchers conducted a close analysis of the discourse functions found in the chat scripts of fourteen pairs of students enrolled in an intermediate English composition class at a large university in Korea. After the participants wrote an explanatory essay, they exchanged feedback through synchronous online peer response sessions. Then,based on the feedback, they wrote the subsequent revisions. Various types of discourse functions were identified, and the total number of discourse functions showed diverse pair dynamics. Moreover, total messages were counted in order to find out whether the participants had focused on discussing their essay problems. Findings indicate that most of the participants concentrated on exchanging their thoughts and opinions on the essays. A statistical analysis also showed that significant differences were found in the subsequent revisions. Pedagogical implications and suggestions for the further studies were discussed.

        Implementation of instructional methods and learners’ views in online/offline business English classes.

        This study explores the participants’ views on online and offline learning, and effects of blended learning in business English classes. Participants were sixty three university students in Korea, and the study was conducted in two general English classes. The materials used for online and offline teaching were the online website, “Global Business English for Jobs” which provided various and interesting business content. Two different instructional methods were applied in both classes. Students in one class previewed the online materials before they came to the class. In contrast, students in another class learned the content together in the class; then reviewed the materials again online at home. To verify the effects of each type of instructional method, the quizzes students took every class were analyzed through descriptive statistical analysis. Moreover, three questionnaires and in-depth interviews were administered. The findings revealed that most participants were quite satisfied with the blended learning teaching methods, and previewing instead of reviewing was considered as a preferable learning method for improving their language skills in the blended learning situations. Pedagogical implications and limitations are discussed.
