Correlation-function Approach to the Critical Properties of the Three-dimensional XY Model
차민철,전인호 한국물리학회 2012 THE JOURNAL OF THE KOREAN PHYSICAL SOCIETY Vol.61 No.8
The critical properties of the three-dimensional <i>XY</i> model are investigated through measurements of the two-point correlation functions via a worm-algorithm Monte Carlo calculation, which automatically crunches the correlation functions while tracing worms, in large systems. This method has the advantage of directly measuring the order parameter, as well as the correlation length, the susceptibility, and their associated critical exponents. From the finite-size scaling behavior, we find 2β/ν = 1.033(5) and Υ/ν = 1.967(5), confirming the hyperscaling relations.
Finite-size Scaling Properties of the One-dimensional Extended Bose-Hubbard Model
차민철,신종근 한국물리학회 2010 THE JOURNAL OF THE KOREAN PHYSICAL SOCIETY Vol.56 No.3
The critical properties of the one-dimensional hard-core extended Bose-Hubbard model at half-filling, involving both XY - and the Ising-symmetry breaking, are studied on a lattice up to 32 sites via the Lanczos method. The finite-size scaling behaviors as approached from either the insulator or the superfluid side are consistent with the presence of an essential singularity, suggesting that the transition has Kosterllitz-Thouless (KT)-type universal properties.
Correlation Functions at Quantum Criticality under Broken Time-Reversal Symmetry
차민철,Gerardo ORTIZ 한국물리학회 2008 THE JOURNAL OF THE KOREAN PHYSICAL SOCIETY Vol.52 No.-
We investigate correlation functions in critical phenomena at zero temperature. We find that the equal-time correlation function of a quantum system at criticality does not have a diverging correlation length in the absence of time-reversal symmetry. We illustrate our main results analytically in the quantum spherical model as well as more explicitly by Monte Carlo calculations in the two-dimensional quantum rotor model.
