Deep reasoning procedures are model-based, inferring single or multiple causes and/or timing relations from the knowledge of behavior of component models and their causal structure. The overall goal of this paper is to develop an automated deep reasoning methodology that exploits deep knowledge of structure and behavior of a system. We have proceeded by building a software environment that uses such knowledge to reason from advanced symbolic simulation techniques introduced by Chi and Zeigler. Such reasoning system has been implemented and tested on several examples in the domain of performance evaluation, and event-based control.

This paper presents an automated methodology for campus network design and performance analysis using the rule-based SES and DEVS modeling & simulation techniques. Proposed methodology for structural design and performance analysis can be utilized not only in the early stage of network design for selecting configurable candidate from all possible design alternatives, but also in simulation verification for generating performance data. Our approach supercedes conventional methodologies in that, first, it can support the configuration automation by utilizing the knowledge of design expert ; second, it can provide the simulation-based performance evaluation ; third, it is established on the basis of the well-formalized framework so that it can support a hierarchical and modular system design. Several simulation tests performed on a campus network example will illustrate our technique.

The main purpose of this paper is to design and implement forest fire information system (FOFIS) for effective prevention of forest fire using GIS, database, 3-D graphics, and simulation techniques. In contrast to conventional fire information systems that are mostly based on the 2-D graphics and analytic modeling approaches, we have proposed the cell-based modeling approaches, i.e., spatial, data, and simulation modeling approaches. The cell-based spatial modeling is proposed by eliminating the cliff effect of the typical elevation model so that it can provide realistic 3-D graphics of the forest fire. The cell-based data modeling of geography, meteorology, and forestry information is also proposed. The cell-based dynamic modeling for forecasting of the fire diffusion is developed using the variable structure modeling techniques. Several simulation tests of FOFIS performed on a sample forest area of Chungdo, Kyungsangbukdo will demonstrate our approaches.

Most battleship warfare M&S systems run relatively slow and the simulation results are often unfair since the system should interact with human operators(controller and/or gamer). To deal with these problems, we have proposed the agent-based battleship warfare M&S system which interact with multiple agent systems instead of human operators. Agent-based M&S system may be able to efficiently support the analysis of effectiveness and/or the operational tactics development of given warfare by providing autonomous reasoning capabilities without the intervention of human controller. To do this, the paper propose the design concept and methodology using the advanced modeling and simulation framework as well as autonomous agent design principle. Several simulation tests performed on the battleship warfare case study on Korea Yellow sea will illustrate our techniques. 대부분의 함정 전투체계의 교전 시뮬레이션은 필수적으로 운용자(통제관 및 대항군)가 포함될 수밖에 없음으로 인해 시뮬레이션은 실시간 정도의 저속이며, 시뮬레이션 결과도 객관적인 평가가 어렵다. 이러한 문제를 다루기 위해 본 논문에서는 인간 대신 다중 에이전트 시스템을 이용하는 에이전트 기반의 함정전투 M&S 시스템을 제안한다. 에이전트기반 M&S 시스템은 인간의 개입을 배제하고 자율적 추론기능을 제공함으로써 전투체계의 효과도 분석 및 운용전술개발 등께 대한 효과적인 지원을 가능하게 해준다. 본 논문에서는 이를 위하여 첨단 M&S 프레임워크와 자율 에이전트 설계 원칙을 도입함으로써 인간 미개입형 M&S 시스템 설계 개념과 방법론을 제시하였고, 서해교전상의 함정전투 사례연구를 통해 그 타당성을 검증하였다.
Ba치환된 $Pb(Mg_{1/3}Nb_{2/3})O_3$-$PbTiO_3$-$PbZrO_3$계 세라믹스의 압전 및 변위특성에 관한 연구

In this study, piezoelectric actuator samples were fabricated using 0.375PMN-0.37OPT-0.255PZ system ceramics with Barium substitution and the strain properties of them were investigated. Dielectric constant of the specimens increased with the increase of Ba content up to 5mol% and decreased with futher addition of Ba. The largest piezoelectric coefficient and electromechanical coupling coefficient were observed at the sintering temperature of 1250'C and Barium content of 5mol%. The characteristics of strain hysteresis was found largely with varing the sintering temperature on the single round type, and the strain is proportional to piezoelectric coefficient.

This paper explores the fateful rivalry between Mary Queen of Scots and Elizabeth I in Liz Lochhead’s Mary Queen of Scots Got Her Head Chopped Off. Although Scottish Catholic Mary and English Protestant Elizabeth led drastically different lives in their respective countries, both struggled with queenship in sixteenth-century British political culture. During this time, queens regnant came into conflict with patriarchalism, as societal norms dictated that women obey their men, yet queens ruled over their men as subjects. Consequently, it was challenging for queens to pursue their desires without risking a loss of power. In this context, a queen’s marriage became a crucial issue for her subjects. The contemporary concept of the king’s two bodies, representing the natural body and the body politic, sheds light on understanding the question of women’s rule that involved the intricate interplay of gender, religion, and politics. Dramatizing the rival queenship of Mary and Elizabeth from the Scottish perspective, Lochhead poses the inquiry of whether a queen can remain just a queen. This paper argues that both Mary and Elizabeth fail to maintain a balance between their two bodies. They are compelled to choose one body for their rule and take responsibility for their choice.

Dielectric and piezoelectric properties of $0.57Pb(Sc_{1/2}Nb_{1/2})O_{3}-0.43PbTiO_{3}$, which is the morphotropic phase boundary composition for the PSN-PT system, were investigated as a function of $Fe_{2}O_{3},\;Nb_{2}O_{5}\;and\;MnO_{2}$ addition 0 wt% to 0.9 wt%. The maximum dielectric constant of ${\varepsilon}_{33}/{\varepsilon}_{o}=2054$ and the minimum dielectric loss of $tan{\delta}=0.37\;%$ at room temperature were obtained at 0.1 wt% of $Fe_{2}O_{3}$ and 0.5 wt% of $MnO_{2}$ addition, respectively. With addition of 0.5 wt% $Nb_{2}O_{5}$ and $0.5\;wt%\;MnO_{2}$, the electromechanical coupling factor $k_{p}$ and mecanical quality factor $Q_{m}$ were significantly increased, respectively. The maximum electromechanical coupling factor $k_{p}=61.5\;%$ was obtained by addition of $Nb_{2}O_{5}$ and high mechanical quality factor $Q_{m}=919$ was obtained by addition of $MnO_{2}$. The $Q_{m}(=919)$ value is 3.3 times larger than that of non-doped 0.57PSN-0.43PT ceramics.
