Pseudotumor cerebri is a condition of obscure etiology characterized by headache, papilledema and raised intracranial pressure in the absence of a space-occupying lesion. We have experienced a case of pseudotumor crerbral complicated by acute frontal sinusitis associated with mild intracranial meningeal inflammation. We have checked the intracranial pressure through serial lumbar puncture before and after medication and conservative management. Symptom were resolved gradually upon lowering the intracranial pressure by serial lumbar puncture and conservative management. So we report a case with brief review of the literature.

The 302 patients with head-injured military personnel who had admitted to the Department of neurosurgery. Capital Armed Forces General Hospital were clinicostatistically analysed and discussed with the review of the literatures. The results were as follows : 1) The most common cause of head injury was traffic accident(38.4% of the total cases) and the next were, in order of incidence, simple fall (19.5%), exercise(13.9%), assault(13.5%) and gun shot wound or explosive injury(7.2%). 2) Skull fracture was identified in 214 cases : 98 cases of linear, 87 cases of depressed, 4 cases of basal, 2 cases mixed skull fracture. 3) The 85.7% of epidural hematomas were associated with skull fracture and the most common site of hematoma was frontal area. 4) Of all cases of subdural hematoma, acute type was prevalent(67.9%) and its main involved site was frontotemporoparietal areas. 5) The associated injuries were found in 35.7% of patients. The frequent ones were skeletal injury of extremity, facial bone fracture, chest injury, spinal injury, visceral injury and eye ball rupture, in order. 6) The minor head injury of which GCS is from 13 to 15 was 148 cases, the moderate head injury of which GCS is from 9 to 12 was 49 cases, the severe head injury of which GCS is form 3 to 8 was 105 cases. 7) Of 105 cases of severe head injured patients the mortality was 61.9% and good recovery was 7.6%. But outcome was different according not only to GCS but also to the type of lesion. 8) The operative morality was 24.1% and the good recovery was achieved 55.2% of patients. The remaining 8.9% resulted in disabled or vegetative state. 9) In the accidents of gun shot wound or explosive injury, operation mortality rate was 31.8%, but 8 cases(36.3%) were seen good recovery.
Direct Power Control of a DFIG in Wind Turbines to Improve Dynamic Responses

This paper presents an implementation of a direct active and reactive power control for a doubly fed induction generator (DFIG), which is applied to a wind generation system as an alternative to the classical field-oriented control (FOC). The FOC has a complex control structure that consists of a current controller, a power controller and frame transformations. The performance of the FOC depends highly on parameter variations of the rotor and stator resistances and the inductances. The proposed direct power control (DPC) method produces a fast and robust power response without the need of complex structure and algorithms. One drawback, however, is its high power ripple during a steady state. In this paper, active and reactive power controllers and space-vector modulation (SVM) are combined to replace hysteresis controllers used in the original DPC drive, resulting in a fixed switching frequency of the power converter. Simulation results with the FOC and DPC for a 3kW DFIG are given and discussed, and the experimental results of a test involving identical machines are presented to illustrate the feasibility of the proposed control strategy.
자이로 구동기를 위한 자기베어링 구조의 토로이달 형 회전자 제어

This paper deals with the position and torque control of a toroidal type rotor which has a magnetic bearing structure. The proposed magnetic bearing structure supports the rotor by the repulsive forces of permanent magnets, and has a two degree of freedom for rotor position when the rotor is rotating. Permanent magnets and coils in the stator allow for a two degree of freedom control of the rotor position and torque generation by reacting with permanent magnets of the rotor. The executed gyro actuator has a number of poles such as five-phase permanent magnet motors and 10 stator coils for the rotor position control. In this study, the verification of the stability of the magnetic bearing was conducted using the equation of motion when the rotor was rotating, and the coil current commutation method for the position control and torque generation was studied. As a result, the feasibility of the proposed structure and control was verified by simulations of Finite Element Method (FEM) and experiments using the executed gyro actuator.
플라즈마 방전장치 구동을 위한 전압 및 주파수 가변 전원장치 설계

본 논문은 플라즈마 방전장치 구동을 위한 가변 전압/주파수 전원장치를 제안한다. 제안하는 전원장치는 가변전압을 위한 벅-부스트 컨버터와 주파수 변환을 위한 푸쉬-풀 인버터로 구성된다. 제안하는 전원장치의 벅-부스트 컨버터는 계통전류 고조파 저감과 DC링크 캐패시터 최소화를 위하여 PFC(Power Factor Collection)기법을 적용한다. 그리고 푸쉬-풀 인버터는 출력 변압기의 자기포화를 막기 위해 전류제한기법을 추가한다. 또한 불분명한 부하와 출력 트랜스의 공진 상황에서 전압 안정화를 위해 출력전압을 피드백하여 제어한다. 본 논문은 1[㎾]급 플라즈마 전원장치를 통하여 제안하는 토폴로지와 제어방법의 타당성을 검증한다.

This paper intends to suggest a sensing circuit of PWM voltage for a motor emulator operated in the inverter. In the emulation of the motor using a power converter, it is necessary to measure instantaneous voltage at the PWM voltage loaded from the inverter. Using a filter can generate instantaneous voltage, while it is difficult to follow the rapidly changing inverter voltage caused by the propagation delay and signal attenuation. The method of measuring the duty of PWM using FPGA can generate output voltage from the one-cycle delay of PWM, while the cost of hardware is increasing in order to acquire high precision. This paper suggests a PWM voltage sensing circuit using the analogue system that shows high precision, one-cycle delay of PWM and low-cost hardware. The PWM voltage sensing circuit works in the process of integrating input voltage for valid time by comparing levels of three-phase PWM input voltage, and produce the output value integrated at zero vector. As a result of PSIM simulation and the experiment with the produced hardware, it was verified that the suggested circuit in this paper is valid.
Direct Power Control of Three-Phase Boost Rectifiers by using a Sliding-Mode Scheme

This paper proposes a sliding-mode-based direct power control (DPC) method in a three-phase boost rectifier without the use of a voltage sensor. This sliding-mode-based DPC is used to improve transient-state response characteristics. This DPC can eliminate voltage sensors by calculating a voltage using a sensorless method, thus considerably reducing cost. This DPC first presents an effective algorithm that does not significantly affect the previous performance and does not need a voltage sensor. Thereafter, the effectiveness of the algorithm is verified by simulations and experiments.
2차 Space Dithered Sigma-Delta Modulation 기반의 Random PWM 스위칭 기법을 이용한 강압형 DC-DC 컨버터의 성능 개선

본 논문에서는 강압형 DC-DC 컨버터의 성능 개선을 위한 스위칭 기법인 2차 SDSDM(Space Dithered Sigma-Delta Modulation)방식을 제안한다. PWM 방식은 일정 스위칭 주파수 대역에서의 고조파로 인해 소음, 전자파 장애, 스위칭 손실 등을 초래한다. 이러한 문제를 해결하기 위한 DSDM 방식의 일종인 1차 SDSDM은 랜덤 디더(Random Dither) 발생기가 1차 SDM의 양자화기(quatizer) 입력 단에 위치하여 스위칭 주파수가 분산된다. 강압형 DC/DC 컨버터에 제안하는 2차 SDSDM의 방식을 적용한 실험 결과를 통해 타당성을 검증한다.
