        역사민속학의 궤적과 전망

        '한국역사민속학회'의 성립은 '87체제'의 산물이다. 87년 체제는 일정한 변혁성을 담보하며 한국사회의 민주화를 희구하였다. 한국역사민속학회의 출현은 종전의 민속학이 갖는 성격의 불투명함, 심하게 말해 지나친 체제 온존성과 수구적 태도 등을 극복해야 하는 과제를 던졌다. 당시 민속학 분야에서는 학문적 정체성에 대한 출구가 모색되고 있었으며, 1970~80년대 이래의 민속연희운동을 통한 일정한 진보적 역량이 갖추어진 상태였다. 역사학 분야에서는 '쓰이지 아니한 역사'에 대한 갈증과 욕구가 역사민속학이라는 과제로 수렴되고 있었다. 역사민속학의 출발에서 학제 연구가 필연적이었다. 한국역사민속학회는 학회 명칭에서 '역사민속학'을 표방했지만 내용적 측면에서는 '민중생활사' 구현을 최대 목표로 설정했다. 역사민속학은 '역사 과학으로서의 민속학'의 줄인 용례이다. 역사민속학은 역사학 범주이며, 학사적으로는 향후 史學史틀에서 논의되어야 한다. 통섭 및 학제 연구의 필연성과 확충은 역사민속학이 구현하고자 했던 방향과 일치된다. 학제 연구는 필연적으로 제 학문과의 교섭을 요구한다. 또한 민속이란 이름의 개념 확대가 이루어지고 있다. 전근대 풍속의 해체와 새로운 풍속의 생성이라는 지난 100년 간의 변동 속에서 기존 민속개념만으로는 21세기를 이끌어갈 수 없게 되었다. The establishment of the historical-folklife society is a product of '87'system which desire a certain transformation and democratization in Korea. The historical-folklife society threw conservertive attitude in studies. In the field of folkstudies the exit of academic identity was being sought, and in the field of history the thirst and desire for the challenge of history, 'folklife as a historic science'. Interdisciplinary research in the historical-folklife studies was inevitable departure. In the name of historical-folklife, the terms of contents represent a studies of people's life. The historical-folklife include in the historical category. Interdisciplinary research inevitably requires negotiation with diversity of studies. What is the name of the folk-life there has been expansion of the concept. Pre-modem deconstruction and creation of new changes in the last 100 yeats alone, the existing concept of folklife was unable to lead the 21st century.

        역사민속학의 학사적 의의와 연구방법론 일고

        The folklife studies is different from folklore. This treatise analysis about scolastic Meaning of historical folklife & method of research. The folklife studies is mainly interest in a science of history,but in korea folklore is mainly interest in a literature. After 1945 year, historical folklife become extinct with a death of Son-Jin-Tae (孫晉泰). Son-Jin-Tae conduct an studies about history & folklife, but no one suceed to his scolastic tradition. The folklife studies set up a purpose critictical viewpoint of riddance in historic study. The theory of remain cultural viewpoint in folklife studies have many problems. The folklife studies emphasis on the history of the folklife, and long-term history & short-term history. The folklife studies conduct extention of historical-folklife text. The field-work research and ancient document research is main methods of historical-folklife studies. The folkhistory related with ancient document. In the studies of historical-folklife,the phases of the time is very important,and that is realize by reserching ancient document. And,This treatise analysis a little about “The Society for Korean Historical-folklife Studies”(韓國歷史民俗學會) & “The Journal of Historical-folklife” (歷史民俗學).

        “탐라”와 “제주”의 해양문명사적 성찰

        ``Tamla`` and ``Jeju`` is often mixed. However, bother, the combination of two names ``Tamla era`` and ``Jeju era`` of long-term give us a real perspective history of this island. The history of the Tamla is still mystery untill now. First, this island is essentially from the perspective of an ``island`` is that it should be. The Maritime power of Jeju is very strong,but we know a little. Tamla shipbuilding and sailing can be demonstrated in several articles. If we find archeological heritage or wrecked ship at submarine,we can rewrite history, but untill now we can find. From this perspective, I can point up many Maritime power of jeju; marine network of wind power and navigator, the Kuroshio currents through natural and human hypothesis on the voyage. In conclusion, in this study my major viewpoint is cocentrate on the islands, but as a member of the Pacific Northwest and emphasize on a identity of Jeju.

        해양권역의 재인식과 태평양지역연구로의 전환

        This study emphasizes the viewpoint of Jeju Island as part of the Pacific rim and avoidance of restriction to consider it only as an island of East Asia. The Korean academic society discusses the Asia but actually excludes the Pacific. This is a result of insufficiency of ocean centered thinking. The Pacific is a historical invention of imperialism, and the classification of a cultural area is also an invention of the West. The notions of the Pacific reigon and Pacific people are the product after the World WarⅡ. The classification of a cultural area was just a creature of western onlookers who wanted to acquire about the Pacific. Even the names of Polynesia, Micronesia and Melanesia are all inventions of Europeans. As the Japanese imperialism invade to the Pacific, the name of the `Namyang Gun-do`(南洋群島) was created. The Jeju Island and the Korean Peninsula are the members of the northwest Pacific area. In the oceanic history, it is required to clarify its own area called `the northwest Pacific` and this has another meaning different from the expression of the northeast Asia. The renewed appreciation of the Pacific not as a zone but as a trench will lead a renewed appreciation of the Jeju Island not as a `island belonging to a land` but as an `island which moved ahead one more step to the Pacific` even in the understanding method. Furthermore, the full-scale understanding and solidarity about the Pacific is a beginning from now on. What our academic circle requires is performing the area study for the Pacific as a clear area, namely as the widest sea area in the world. The past exclusive devotion to the political economics of the Pacific study should be avoided to have a conversion of a viewpoint to move ahead to `the Pacific Riberal arts`.

        ‘부문 학문’에서 ‘융복합 학문’으로의 길 – 문명사연구로 전환되기까지의 학문적 역정, 혹은 편력 -

        이 글은 역사민속학이라는 학문을 화두로 외길을 걸어온 한 학인의 학문적 궤적에 기반한다. 학문의 첫 출발에서 식민지민속학에 관한 비판적 검토를 염두에 두었으며, ‘역사과학으로서의 민속학’을 주창하면서 학문과 진보에 관한 진지한 질문을 하고 있다. 역사민속에서 논자가 개척해오거나 관심을 갖은 분야는 물질 및 생산풍습, 민중생활사, 학제연구의 세 대목이다. 연구소재로서는 다양한 분야를 거론할 수 있으나 대체로 위의 세 부분에서 나름의 연구성과를 개척해왔다고 믿는다. 오늘날 논자가 관심을 갖고 있는 분야는 어느덧 문화사에서 문명사의 범주로 넘어와있는 상태이다. 말미에 그간의 저서 목록을 별첨함으로써 학문적 궤적과 그 성과를 제시하고자 한다. This article is based on the academic trajectory of a scholar who has spoken out about the topic of history and folklore. At the start of the study, I considered a critical review of colonial folklore, and sincerely advocates “folklore as history science”, and sincerely asks serious questions about scholarship and progress. In the history folklore, the fields that the researchers have pioneered or are interested in are the three areas of material and production style, people’s life history, and interdisciplinary research. As a research material, various fields can be discussed, but I believe that I have pioneered the research results in the above three parts. Nowadays, the field of interest of the academic studies has shifted from the cultural history to the category of civilization. At the end of this paper, I will add a list of books and suggest the academic trajectories and their achievements.
