Self-piercing rivet(SPR) is mechanical joining methods and which can be joining dissimilar materials. Unlike conventional riveting, SPR also needs no pre-drilled holes. During plastically deformation, SPR pierces upper sheet and joins it to under sheet. SPR has been mainly applied to the joining the automobile body and some materials, such as glass fiber reinforced polymer and aluminum alloy, which represent the sheet-formed materials for lightweight automobile. Glass fiber reinforced plastic(GFRP) has been considered as a partial application of the automobile body which is lighter than steels and stronger than aluminium alloys. It is needed SPR to join Al alloy sheets and GFRP ones. In this paper, in order to design the rivet and anvil, which are suitable for GFRP, the joinability was examined through simulations of SPR joining between GFRP and Al alloy sheets. For this study, AutoCAD was used for the modeling and the simulated using commercial FEM code DEFORM-2D. The simulated results for SPR process joining between GFRP and Al alloys were confirmed by the same conditions as experimental trials.

A CAD program for metal bellows diaphragm was developed in this study. This program was written in AutoLISP on the AutoCAD system with a personal computer. Basic design concept used in this program is composition of a convolution that is tangent to two lines and 5 circles from given design parameters(initial radius, inner and outer diameter, thickness, pitch, etc.). The effects of altering some design parameters on stress distribution and fatigue life of bellows were estimated using commercial FEM code, NISAII. As a result, the metal bellows diaphragm was successfully designed by the CAD program. It is used to model a bellows geometry in pre-processor of FEM code. The FEM result shows that stress is dependent on straight line length, bellows diameter with same span, and fatigue life is also affected by design parameters.

Load terminal is Connection termina1 at side of Molded Case Circuit Breaker (MCCB). Generally low pressure MCCB consists rated breaking capacity and frame size (Series) according to Rated Current. Under range of Rated Current 125 AF made with same frame size. According to Rated Current different materials are used Brass is used under 50 A, Tough pitch copper between 50 A and 125 A. Thus, research is needed to produce the load terminal made with Fittings. Therefore in this study, pressed fittings are simulated by commercial FEM code DEFORM-3D, and present interpretations of load terminal made by progressive die. To verify the simulation result the experimental and analytical results were compared.
