This study was performed to assess airborne fungi concentrations during fall in eight subway stations in Seoul, Korea. The purpose of this study was to investigate appropriate culture media and evaluate factors affecting airborne fungi concentrations. Results indicated that airborne fungi concentrations showed log-normal distribution. Thus, geometric mean (GM) and geometric standard deviation (GSD) were calculated. The GM of airborne fungi concentrations cultured on malt extract agar (MEA) media was 466 $cfu/m^3$ (GSD 3.12; Range 113~4,172 $cfu/m^3$) and the GM of concentrations cultured on DG18 media was 242 $cfu/m^3$ (GSD 4.75; Range 49~6,093 $cfu/m^3$). Both of GM values exceeded 150 $cfu/m^3$, the guideline of World Health Organization (WHO). There was no significant difference between two fungi concentrations cultured on MEA and DG18 media, respectively. Two factors, such as relative humidity and depths of subway stations were significantly related to airborne fungi concentrations. It is recommended that special consideration should be given to deeper subway stations for improvement of indoor air quality.

The giant-cell tumor is uncommon. It occurs in the long bones and vertebral localization is much less common, particularly in thoracic spine. We present a case of a 37-year-old man suffering from severe back pain. Affected vertebral bodies were removed by transthoracic approach and the spine was reconstructed with iliac bone autografts and internal fixation device(Kaneda) between T 8 and T 11. Histologoical diagnosis was giant-cell tumor, and pertinent literature was reviewed.

Purpose: To analyze the general characteristics and clinical aspects of the organochlorine intoxicated patients in Korea. Methods: We prospectively evaluated the organochlorine intoxicated patients visiting to the 38 emergency medical centers in Korea from the 1, Aug. 2005 to the 31, Jul. 2006. Results: There were 38 patients intoxicated by the organochlorine during the study periods. The mean age of patients was 55.1 years old. The mean amount of the organochlorine intoxicated is 246.1 mL. The most frequent place where the patients got and took the organochlorine was their home. Twenty eight patients(73.7%) intended to suicide. Nine patients out of 38 patients(23.7%) were died and they all intended to suicide. Conclusion: There were 38 patients intoxicated by the organochlorine during the study periods. The suicidal attempts and the number of the dead were higher in Korea than the developed countries.
심한 치아 마모와 수복 공간 부족을 보이는 환자에서 CAD/CAM 기술을 활용한 완전 구강 회복: 증례 보고

본 증례는 다수의 치아 상실과 심한 치아 마모로 인해 교합 고경(occlusal vertical dimension)의 감소 및 수복 공간 부족을 보이는 환자에 대한 computer-aided design and computer-aided manufacturing (CAD/CAM) 기술을 활용한 완전 구강 회복 치료이다. 진단 단계에서 교합 고경에 대한 여러 분석을 통해 교합 고경 증가를 통한 완전 구강 회복을 계획하였다. 새롭게 설정된 교합 고경을 반영한 임시 수복물을 환자에게 적용하여 적응시키고, 이중 스캔 방법을 통해 임시 수복물의 정보를 최종 수복물에 옮긴 후, 3D 프린팅을 통해 금속 코핑을 제작하여 최종 고정성 금속 도재 수복물을 완성하였다. 이후 전자 서베잉과 3D 프린팅을 통해 가철성 국소의치 금속 구조물을 제작, 최종 가철성 국소의치로 환자치료를 완료하였다. 이러한 디지털 기술을 활용한 완전 구강 회복 치료로 환자는 기능적, 심미적으로 만족하였고, 술자는 임상적으로 받아들일 만한 치료결과로 판단하였다. This study reported the treatment of a patient with excessive worn dentition and limited maxillo-mandibular space for restoration, utilizing the computer-aided design and computer-aided manufacturing (CAD/CAM) technology. After the thorough examination of the patient's occlusal vertical dimension (OVD), full mouth rehabilitation was planned with increase of the OVD. The patient was satisfied with the provisional restorations establishing the increased OVD. The horizontal and vertical data of the patient's jaw relation that the provisional restorations contained were transferred to the definitive metal ceramic fixed prostheses by double scanning and three-dimensional printing. After the fixed restorations were cemented to the abutments, electronic surveying and three-dimensional printing were used to fabricate metal frameworks for the patient's removable partial dentures. The mandibular definitive removable prostheses were delivered to the patient's mouth and the full mouth rehabilitation procedures were completed. The digital technologies used for this case produced fixed and removable restorations satisfactory in masticatory, phonetic and aesthetic functions to both the patient and the dental clinician.

The demand of cyclotron for PET (positron emission tomography) has rapidly grown as the more use of PET or PET-CT equipment requires the increased amount of radioactive isotopes for clinical positron emission. While research on failure statistics of medical equipment used in medical centers has continued to be done, the analysis and study on failure statistics of cyclotron have rarely been conducted. However, the growing demand shows the urgency of systematical management guideline and countermeasures for device failure to minimize any supply delay of radiopharmaceuticals occurred by such failure and complains from waiting patients for PET-CT diagnosis. Therefore, this study aims to analyze the failure report from Minitrace equipped in cyclotron which is owned by the department of nuclear medicine at Yeungnam University Medical Center and draws on the data to build effective management system for cyclotron.

The purpose of this paper is to explain that the phrasal construction determines the meaning of Korean idiom phrase with two examples, mom_sal and kkoch_tun, within HPSG framework, following the spirit of concept of Construction Grammar. To do so, the paper introduces two English idiom studies of Riehemann et al.(1997) and Cho(1999) and Korean idiom explanation of Suh(1996) as the previous study. A hierarchy for Korean idiom is suggested on the basis of Cho(1999) and two criteria like semantically decomposable idiom phrase and semantically non-decomposable idiom phrase. < Hanlyo University >

Objectives: To present the bases for health education on electronic cigarettes, we analyze the present state of electronic cigarettes. Methods: We applied descriptive study, reviewing the literature from domestic and foreign electronic databases such as National Discovery for Science Leaders and PubMed. Results: Electronic cigarette has been the subject of much controversy but very little study. I reviewed and summed up the definitions, device safety, health risk, smoking cessation effects, addiction, second hand smoke, and regulations of electronic cigarettes. Conclusion: Finally,I presented the evidence-based contents and desirable direction for health education about electronic cigarettes. The results suggested that the health educators focus on the potential addiction to electronic cigarettes, instead of the cessation effects.

In this study, combustion and emission characteristics were investigated for both direct injection and port fuel injection in an LPG single cylinder spark ignition engine. The engine was operated over three different loads (2, 6, 10 bar of indicated mean effective pressure), fuel injection pressures(60, 90, 120 bar for DI, 7 bar for PFI), and air excess ratio(λ=1) at 2000 rpm. For IMEP DI type were more sensitive to fuel injection timing than PFI and showed higher thermal efficiency than that of PFI type except for 2 bar IMEP. The emission characteristics of DI type were also compared with PFI type. Hydrocarbon emission for DI type was approximately 10% lower than that of PFI type. Nitric oxides emission for both types was increased as the load increases. In addition, carbon monoxide emission for DI type was slightly decreased as the load increases.
