본 연구는 일제강점기 경성의 골프 도입과 발달에 대하여 신문기사와 관련 문헌 및 정부문서, 사진자료, 단행본 등1·2차 자료의 문헌분석을 통해 경성의 골프사 정립을 목적으로 자료의 문헌분석을 통해 다음과 같은 결론을 얻었다. 첫째, 효창원코스는 한반도 제일의 도시 경성에 만들어져 조선인들에게 골프라는 신종 스포츠를 보급했다는 점에서 골프사적 의미가 있다. 둘째, 청량리코스에서는 전국 규모의 골프대회가 열리고 프로 골퍼를 초청하여 체계적 레슨이 이루어졌으며, 연덕춘 같은 조선인 골퍼가 등장했다는 점을 볼 때 체계적으로 골프가 확산 보급되었다. 셋째, 군자리코스 시대를 거치며 한국인 최초의 프로가 탄생하고 조선인 회원들이 많이 늘어나 조선골프를 발전시키는 계기가 마련되었으나, 태평양전쟁으로 인하여 골프의 침체기와 암흑기를 맞이하게 된다. 넷째, 효창원, 청량리, 군자리의 골프코스의 공통점은 왕가의 능(陵)터를 이용하여 민족 문화를 말살하고 문화제를 훼손하였다는 점과 개발 과정에서 일본 고관들이 전면에 있었다는 특징을 가진다. 다섯째, 일반인들을 위한 여가오락 시설로 도심에 퍼팅으로만 골프를 즐길 수 있는 베비골프장이 생겨 일반인들에게 인기가 높았으며, 골프를 대중에게 알리는 역할을 했다. This research tries to establish history of Kyungsung golf through first and second data analysis such as literature and government documents related to newspaper articles, photographs, and books for the introduction and development in Kyungsung golf in Japanese occupation period. First, Hyochangwon course is made in Kyungsung city which is the best city of the peninsula and its private value is high where golf was known as the first. Second, national golf tournaments opens in Cheongnyangri course where systematic lessons were done by professional golfers, and golf was systematically disseminated knowing that Korean golfer had appeared. Third, the very first Korean professional golfer was born undergoing Gunjari course, and there was chance to develop Korean golf due to increasing number of Korean members. However, due to anti-Japanese War and the Pacific War, golf faces recession and dark ages. Fourth, common feature among golf courses at Hyochangwon, Cheongnyangri, Gunjari is that it undermined the ground of royal family`s tomb and they have characteristics of having Japanese dignitaries in front at golf course development. Fifth, Popularity rose to the public because of leisure entertainment facilities in the city center and baby golf course just for putting, and this played as an advertisement of golf to the public.

이 연구는 개항과 더불어 19세기말에서 20세기 초반 외국인들에 의해 도입된 골프를 사회사적 고찰을 통해 한국 골프 도입사를 재정립하고자 하였다. 본 연구를 수행함에 있어서 한국 골프 도입 시기 전반에 관한 문헌분석을 실시하였고, 이를 통하여 얻은 결론은 다음과 같다. 한국골프의 시초인 원산해관 골프코스는 원산해관이 개청하게 되어 영국인을 비롯한 외국인 세관원들이 정착하여 생활하는 과정에서 도입된 것으로 보인다. 또한 구전으로 전해지던 황해도 구미포와 원산 갈마반도에 있던 골프코스에 관한 신문기사와 문헌자료를 찾아내 황해도 구미포 골프코스는 1910년대와 원산 갈마반도 외인촌 골프코스는 1925년부터 존재했던 것으로 그 실체를 확인하였다. 또한 이곳들은 골프뿐만 아니라 휴양을 겸비한 한반도 최초의 골프리조트였다. 이후 서울에 만들어진 효창원 골프코스는 일제가 황실의 묘가 있던 장소에 코스를 건설하여 여가시설로 사용하였고, 이를 계기로 골프가 일반인들에게 알려지기 시작하는 시발점이 된 것으로 보인다. 이러한 골프코스의 도입은 한국에 근대 스포츠 문화를 소개했다는 점에서 중요한 사건이라 사료된다. The purpose of this study was to re-establish the introduction of history of Korea's golf by Socio-historical method after the Open Ports Act from the late 19C to early 20C by foreigners. The conclusions of the study were as bellow : The Wonsan maritime customs golf course, the origin of Korean golf, was made after the Open Ports Act by England and foreign customers as they settled. It was found as newspaper and document that the golf courses existed on Gumi-po, Hwanghae-do in 1910s and Garma Peninsula, Wonsan in 1925. It was the first golf resort in Korea to have not only golf course but also recreational facilities. Hyochangwon golf course in Seoul was leisure facility that build in mausoleum of imperial family by Japan. It was the starting point to become known for golf to native people. Introducing golf course was the important event that spread modern sports into Korea.
