패스티쉬 기법의 작품 적용 연구 -본인 작품을 중심으로-

현대 사회에서 모든 영역이 탈구축적인 성격으로 진행되는 양상은 뚜렷하게 정의하기 어려운 복합적 특성을 드러내고 있다. 오늘날의 사회적 구조는 다양한 매체와 기술의 발달로 인하여 끊임없이 재편되고 형성된다. 이에 융복합적 성질을 지니는 패스티쉬 기법은 다차원적으로 전개되는 현시대에서 중요한 위치를 차지하고 있다. 패스티쉬는 모더니즘 시대 이 후 사용되는 창작 방식 중 하나이며 타 분야의 이미지 혹은 모티프, 에피소드 등 그 자체를 훼손시키지 않은 채 그대로 사용하고 혼합하는 것을 의미한다. 이러한 과정에서 기존 텍스트가 가지는 의미는 상실되며 작가 주관적 각색을 통하여 새로운 의미로 재편성된다. 이는 패러디가 가지고 있는 기존의 텍스트나 사회에 대한 조롱과 비판이 제거된 완전히 새로운 개체로 바뀌어버리는 것이다. 원본을 모방한다는 점에서 패러디와 패스티쉬는 공통점을 갖지만, 원작과의 관계에서 패러디는 차이를 드러내는 반면에 패스티쉬는 유사성을 강조한다는 차이점이 있다. 이에 본 연구는 패스티쉬 기법에서 드러나는 복합적인 체계를 탐구하며 현대 미술에서 혼성모방(패스티쉬)을 창작 기법으로 사용하는 작가와 본 연구자의 작업을 비교분석하고자 한다. 그 결과로 첫째, 패스티쉬가 등장하기까지의 시대 및 사회적 배경을 분석한다. 둘째, 패스티쉬 기법을 사용하는 작가들이 차용대상 작업의 진행 방식을 사용하는 것과 표면적 이미지를 그대로 흡수하는 것이라는 두 가지의 태도를 발견할 수 있다. 본 연구자는 이를 바탕으로 본인 작업이 현대 미술이라는 범주 안에서 어떠한 대상과 관계 맺기를 하고 있으며, 어느 좌표에 위치하고 있는지를 고찰하고자 하였다. 따라서 본 연구의 패스티쉬 분석이 시각 예술이라는 범주만이 아닌 현대 사회에서 나타나는 다양한 양상과 관련이 깊으며, 동시대를 살아가는 구성원으로서 본 연구자가 가지고 있는 관점을 제시하고, 동시에 현시대 미술의 한 방향을 이해하는 데 도움이 될 것이라고 생각한다. In the current society, the aspects of deconstruction-progress are difficult to define clearly and have difficult integrative characteristics. Today, social structures are constantly re-organized and established with the development of various media and technology. Thereupon, pastiche technique, which has the characteristics of convergence and integration, takes important position in the present age when multi-dimensional evolution is highly regarded. Pastiche is one of the creating ways used after the modernism period and it refers to using and blending undamaged things of other fields like image, motif, episode, etc. In this process, the meaning of the original text is lost and the new meaning is re-organized with the subjective dramatization of the author. It is changing the parody to a new entity as removing the original text or removing the mockery and criticism on a society that the parody has. Hereby, in this study the researcher studies the complex system revealed on the pastiche technique and at the same time compares and analyzes the works of the authors who use mixed imitations as a creating technique in a modern arts to the works of the researcher of this study. As a result, first, we could analyze the periodical and social background until the point of emergence of pastiche. Second, the researcher could find out two attitudes of authors who use pastiche techniques, which are using the procedure of borrowing target works and absorbing the superficial image as it is. Based on this, the researcher tries to study with what target his work relates in the scope of the modern art, and in what coordinate it is located. Therefore, this research of pastiche analysis is relevant to the various aspects that occur in the modern society as well as the scope of visual arts, presents the views of the researcher as a member of a contemporary society, and, at the same time, helps to understand a direction of modern arts.
