The paper demonstrated the spheroidization of cementite found in high carbon steel fabricated by equal channel angular pressing with a special focus on the influences of ECAP strain and subsequent annealing temperature on morphological change of cementite. It was found that intense plastic strain by single ECAP was beneficial to trigger spheroidization kinetics during annealing, resulting in effectively reducing annealing time required for achieving fully globular cementites with a uniform distribution of them. Correlation between processing variables and deformed microstructure of high carbon steel was explored in details.
