햅틱 장치를 이용한 비강 모델 변형 및 수치해석적 연구

In order to investigate causes of nasal discomforts during respiration, many numerical analysis methods have been utilized for analyzing nasal air flows. The results of the numerical analysis can be used in surgical treatments for removing the cause of discomforts of patients in clinical practice. In this study, numerical analysis methods with three-dimensional nasal cavity models were performed. The analysis models were generated by two different methods. The first method is called as a two-dimensional virtual surgical simulation with CT images and the nasal cavity model was constructed by deforming the CT images. The second method is called as a three-dimensional virtual surgical simulation based on a haptic device, because the surgical simulation can be directly exercised on the three-dimensional nasal cavity model. The two methods were executed and their performances were compared. It was demonstrated that the three-dimensional virtual surgical simulation could be completed in a single day while the two-dimensional virtual surgical simulation was completed a single week.
