        지진시 도시가스 공급정지를 위한 긴급대응시스템의 제안 및 적용

        지진 시 광범위한 가스누출에 의한 화재는 인명피해 및 심각한 재산손실을 초래한다. 이러한 지진피해를 줄이는 효과적이 고도 합리적인 방법의 하나로 가스공급정지를 고려할 수 있다. 우리나라의 지진세기와 빈도 및 도시가스의 공급체계를 생각하면 지진시 가스공급정지는 일반 가정에서 개별차단기를 설치하여 실시하는 것보다 도시가스사에서 일괄적으로 수행하는 것이 보다 경제적이다. 본 연구에서는 지진 시 신속하게 가스공급 정지를 판단할 수 있는 긴급대응시스템을 제안하였다. 가스 공급지역내에서 계측된 지반가속도의 크기에 따라 적절한 조치를 취할 있도록 2단계의 기준지진도를 제안하였으며, 지진 피해를 입은 지역에 한해서 가스공급을 정지할 수 있도록 공급지역 블록화를 제안하였다. 또한, 실제 가스공급지역을 대상으로 하여 지반해석과 피해도 해석을 수행하여 기준지진도를 설정하고 긴급대응시스템을 적용하였다. Fires that result from the excessive leakage of gas due to earthquakes cause enormous loss of property as well as numerous human casualties. To prevent such disasters, an emergency gas shut-off system is considered to be one of the effective and rational methods. Considering the seismicity, the earthquake frequency and the gas-supply system of Korea, mass gas shut-off by a gas company is determined to be more cost-effective than individual gas shut-off by customers. In this study, an emergency response system was proposed that would shut off the gas supply immediately. Two different reference seismicities were proposed, to specify rapid response according to the measured seismicity. The gas supply area was divided into several gas shut-off blocks in order to facilitate the shut-off of gas supply in damaged blocks. This proposed system was implemented in the actual gas supply area with reference seismicities on the basis of seismic damage analysis.

        홍명섭에 있어 조각 개념의 확장과 해체에 대한 연구

        본 논문은 홍명섭에 있어 ``조각 개념의 확장과 해체에 대한 연구``로 그에 따른 작품을 분석하고 미술사적 관점에서의 미학적 쟁점과 기존의 작가적 위상을 새로이 조망하는데 목적이 있다. 홍명섭(1948)의 작품의 특징은 개념적 성격을 지니고 있지만, 개념미술가로 말하기에는 의문이 든다. 그의 작품속에는 다양한 실험적 성격이 보여지고 있기 때문이다. 홍명섭의 작품속에는 개념적 실험미술의 성격을 계속해서 ``차연differance``시키고 ``해체deconstruction``시키는 작품의 특징이 보여지고 있으며, 본 연구자는 이러한 특징이 보여지는 작업을 중심으로 작품을 분석하였다. 홍명섭은 작품창작과 저술활동을 병행한 작가로서 작가 스스로가 작품을 비평함으로써 그 자체가 연구 대상이라 할수 있다. 이러한 특성으로 인해 작가의 저술글 속에는 미학과 철학적 성격이 보여지고 있으며, 본 논문은 그의 작업중 구조주의에서 후기구조주의로 가는 이행 과정중의 데리다Jacques Derriad의 차연과 해체, 후기구조주의에서의 바르트Roland Barthes의 텍스트의``즐김jouissance``과 ``즐거움Le Plaisir`` 현상이 보여지고 있는 작품을 중심으로 연구 하였다. 또한 홍명섭의 작품의 분석에 있어 포스트모던 철학비평의 선구자들인 데리다와 아르토 Antonin Artaud를 통한 텍스트의 즐김과 해체, 바타이유George Bataille의 쾌락의 개념을 통해 작품 분석에 깊이를 더하고자 하였다. 본 연구자는 이러한 생각을 바탕으로 다음과 같이 홍명섭의 작품에 있어 작품의 위치와 미술사적 성격으로서 작가의 위상을 미학적, 비평적, 작업적 성향으로 분류하여 결론 지었다. 1. 홍명섭 작가의 미학적 쟁점: 데리다 차연 differance과 해체deconstruction,바르트의 텍스트의 즐김jouissance, 즐거움Le Plaisir2. 개념미술과의 차이: 감각과 시간성을 통해 개념미술의 한계를 넘어서기3. 포스트모더니즘과 홍명섭: 포스트모더니즘 메타비평을 통한 실험 작가홍명섭의 작품은 조각의 개념적 실험미술의 변종적 성격을 지닌다. 그의 작품에는 데리다의 차연과 해체주의, 바르트의 즐김jouissance, 즐거움Le Plaisir, 포스트모던 철학비평에서 바타이유의 즐거움(쾌락)이 보여지고 있으며, 그러한 미학적 점목을 통해 조각의 확장적 성격을 보여주고 있다. 홍명섭은 조각의 확장 영역을 개념적 실험미술을 통해 변이시킨 일종의 퍼포먼스의 변종이라고 보아야 할것이다. 단지 그것이 행위가 아닌 다양한 오브제와 실험적 작품으로 보여지고 있을 뿐이다. 홍명섭에 있어 조각 개념의 확장과 해체에 대한 연구 85그의 작품은 설치적 측면이 강하나 조각의 기본적 아우라가 계속해서 깔려 있다. 즉 홍명섭은 초창기의 조각의 기본적 시작을 중심으로 뒤샹의 개념의 의미를 보여주고, 시간이 지남에 따라 개념적 실험미술로 조각의 확장을 펼쳐 나가며, 이러한 조각의 개념적 확장을 데리다의 차연과 해체를 통해 진행중으로 보여주고 있는 것이다. 진행중인 작업은 관람객을 자신의 작품과 상호소통의 주체로 선정하고 관람객을 통한 또 다른 알레고리적 해석을 끊임없이 열어주며, 이를 토대로작품이 완결되는 감각적 즉흥성을 계속해서 유발시킨다. 결과적으로 홍명섭은 조각의 개념적인 성격을 넘어서 그때그때 감각을 중시했다. 개념미술적 측면을 지니고 있었지만, 그 한계를 넘어서려는 비판의식을 가지고 있었고 그러한 비판의식은 조각 개념의 해체라는 과정을 야기시켰다. 결국 홍명섭에 있어 조각의 해체와 확장적 성격은 무한한 시간적 변화와 감각적 측면의확장으로 나아가기 위함이었다. 그러한 감각적 해석을 타자와의 관계를 통해 작가는 은유와 환유를 빌려 알레고리적 해석을 유발시킨다. 이러한 성격은 포스트모더니즘의 성격중 하나이기도 하다. 홍명섭의 작품에서 돌고 있는 해체와 반복성, 파편화, 사진으로 기록되어``시뮬라크르 simulacre``된 작품의 또 다른 해석의 여지인 차용의 선택은 홍명섭이 포스트모더니즘 비평의 시발점을 밟고 간 작가이며, 자신의 글속에``조각의 개념적 확장``과``후기구조주의 미학적 성격``을 빌여옴으로서 자신의 작업을 해체(탈구축)하고 있음을 알려주는 것이다. 비평적 성격으로서의 홍명섭은 메타비평(비평의 비평)을 통한 전위적 前衛的 실험작가로 보인다. 작품속에도 작품을 비평하는 글속에도 모두 하나의 공통점이 보이는데, 그것은 전복술과 비평의 글을 통한 끊임없는 연구자세이다. 하나의 개념에 속하지 않고 개념을 바탕으로 계속해서 메타비평을 하며, 선구적이고 실험적인 창작을 시도하는 작가이다. 그는 글을 통해서도 작품을 통해서도 포스트모더니즘적 비평의 성격을 계속해서 반영하여 전위적인 성격을 찾아 실험해 나간다. 또한 구조주의에서 후기구조주의로의 이행 과정 중 데리다의 차연과 해체, 후기구조주의에서의 바르트와 아르토를 통해``즐김``을 더욱 확장시켜 비평해 나가고, 바타이유를 통해 ``즐거움``을 해체시켜 나간다. 홍명섭에 대한 본 연구에 있어 작가의 의도와는 어느 정도 차이가 나는 부분도 있을 것이라 생각되지만, 이러한 다각도의 작품 분석과 새로운 작가적 위상에 대한 조망의 시도 또한 비평에 있어 중요한 일이라 생각하며 본 논문을 맺는다. This is the study on the conceptual expansion and deconstruction on Hong myung seop`s sculpture, analysing his artwork. The purpose of this study is to prospect the artistic phase and esthetic issue of artist Hong on the on a artistic point of view. Although Hong`s art consist of conceptual characters, because many of his work shows experimental qualities, it is too soon to conclude that he is a conceptual artist. Within his abstractive work, the stages of differance and deconstruction continuously appear. This study analyzes artist Hong`s artwork based on the two major keywords of his art; differance and deconstruction. Artist Hong is a unique type of artist who is both a creator and the writer. The fact that he critics his own work give enough reason to become the subject of many studies. However, due his personal characteristics, esthetic and philosophical aspects inhere in his writings. This study focus on his work of two major periods of his paradigm. One is the period between his pre structuralism and post-structuralism when he was well affected by Jacque Derriad`s differance and deconstruction. Second is the period of post-structuralism when he was influence by Roland Barthes`s jouissance and Le Plaisir of text. To add more weight to the study, the analysis was also based on the world pioneer of post modernism philosophic critics, Antonin artaud and Jacque Derriad`s jouissance and deconstruction and George Bataille`s pleasure. This study has concluded the artist Hong`s status and the position of his work into esthetic, critical and status categories. 1. Hong`s esthetic issue: Jacque Derriad`s differance and decon- struction and Roland Barthes`s jouissance and Le Plaisir of text. 2. Distinction to the conceptual art: go beyond the limitation of conceptual art though sense and time. 3. Hong myung seop and post-modernism; experimental artist with post-modernism metacritic Artist Hong`s sculpture consist of mutant character such as abstract experimental art. His art consist of following aspect; Jacque Derriad`s differance and deconstruction, Roland Barthes`s jouissance and Le Plaisir of text and George Bataille`s pleasure. By combining such aspects, Hong`s sculpture expands its nature beyond. It is the performance mutation which the sculpture has been expanded its limit by trying out many conceptual experiments. It is the performance which appears in many different object and experimental artwork. Artist Hong`s art has its fundamental aura as sculpture, although his work seems much more of an installation art. Hong starts his work as a basic sculpture while showing the concept of Duchamp, and as time passes, the sculpture expands to conceptual experiment art. Thus his work seems to continue while the concept continuously expands through Jacque Derriad`s differance and deconstruction. He claims the viewer to become the subject which his sculpture continuously communicate and open up many possibilities of analysis which the viewer can come up with. Such method keeps induces the sensual Improvisation which completes the sculpture. This study concludes that the artist Hong myung seop has emphasized the importance of sensuality each time beyond the conceptual characteristics of the sculpture. Although the artist consists of conceptual artistic side, he had the critical minds to expand beyond. The artist`s critical mind has resulted the deconstruction of sculptural concept. In the end, to artist Hong, the destruction and the expanding of sculpture is to reach the point of unlimited time change and the expansion of sensuality. Using the relation between his sculpture and the viewer, and metaphor and metonymy, the artist keeps trigger the fresh new allegory analysis. This is one of the distinctive characteristic of post-modernism. Differance, another method to analyze deconstruction, repetitions, fragmentation, replicated of his work. shows that Hong myung seop has been affected by post modernism critique and that he deconstruct his artwork by quoting “conceptual expansion of sculpture”, and “esthetic aspect of the post-structuralism” from his own words. Based on the critical characteristics, it is appeared that the artist Hong is avant garde experimental artist through metacritic (giving critique to given critique). His sculptures and his critiques have one thing in common. It is the endless research through subversivity and critique. Artist Hong myung seop is innovative and experimental artist who does no settle in one concept but keep proceeding with the metacritique based on current artistic concept. He reflects his post-modernism critical nature on his art and his words to experiment ways be become avant garde. Using Jacques Derrida`s differance and deconstruction from the period between prestructurism and post-structuralism, and Ronland Barthes and Antonin artaud from the period of post-structuralism, the artist Hong gave much expanded critique to jouissance. Also through George Bataille, Hong has carried on deconstructing Bataille`s Le Plaisir. Although the result might be different to the artist`s intention, this study ends with the importance of analyzing through many different perspective and rediscovering the artist`s status within critique.

        세포사멸 및 신경퇴행과 관련된 미토콘드리아 단백질들

        Apoptosis is a programmed cell death which has a critical role in embryonic development and maintenance of homeostasis in various cells and tissues. The mitochondrian is the cellular power plant providing ATP for most processes requiring energy and also, has a decisive role in the regulation of apoptosis by controlling the release of some mitochondrial proteins such as cytochrome c, AIF, Smac/ Diablo, and Omi/HtrA2. Studies in mice gene-deleted for Omi/HtrA2 and AIF showed the involvement of these mitochondrial proteins in selective cell degeneration in the striatum and celebellar neurons. Mutation in the mitochodrial AAA protease gene, paraplegin, caused an autosomal form of hereditary spastic paraplegia and a distinctive apoptosis in corticospinal neuronal axon. Reactive oxygen species and a fault of respiratory chain in mitochondria contribute to various neurological disorders. However, the pathogenetic mechanisms of selective neurodegeneration is not completely known. The elucidation of biological functions of mitochondrial proteins may shed new light on the development of novel drug for the prevention and therapy for the human neurological diseases.         In-flight 법을 이용한 26Si 방사성 핵종빔 생성에 관한 연구

        High-purity and high-intensity radioactive ion (RI) beams are definitely needed for investigating nuclear reactions in explosive nuclear synthetic processes under various stellar environments, such as nova explosions and X-ray bursts. We investigated the production of a 26Si radioactive ion beam for studying the astrophysically-important nuclear reaction, 26Si(p)27P. The beam was produced in the CRIB (Center for Nuclear Physics (CNS) Radioactive Ion Beam Separator), which was been designed to the provide low-energy radioactive ion beams of 5-10 MeV/u and to study nuclear physics and nuclear astrophysics and where was installed at study CNS, the Universtiy of Tokyo in RIKEN. To increase the beam quality, we used a cryogenic primary gas target and a Wein filter. Finally, the beam purity and the intensity of the 26Si radioactive ion beams were 0.48% and 2×10⁴ pps, respectively. 고전류 및 고순도의 방사성 핵종빔은 천체핵합성 과정에 수반되는 핵반응 연구에 적합하며, 특히 신성폭발과 엑스선 폭발 (X-ray bursts)와 같은 극한적인 천체환경에서 일어나는 핵반응 연구에 필수적이다. 본 논문은 최근 천체핵물리학적으로 그 중요성이 부각되고 있는 26Si(p)27P 핵반응연구를 위해 방사성 핵종빔인 26Si 빔의 생성에 관한 연구이다. 26Si 방사성 핵종빔은 동경대 부설 핵과학연구소 (Center for Nuclear Study, 이하 CNS)의 in-flight 분리법을 이용한 저에너지 방사성 핵종분리장치인 CRIB (CNS Radio-Isotope Beam separator)을 통하여 생성하였다. 방사성 핵종의 생성율을 높이기 위해 액체질소 온도로 냉각한 극저온 1차 기체 표적 (cryogenic primary gas target)을 사용하였고 또한 빔 순도를 높이기 위해 속도분리장치인 Wien filter를 사용하였다. 그 결과 순도 0.48%, 빔 세기 2 × 10⁴pps의 26Si을 얻었다.

      • 두경부에서 생긴 림프종에서 EBV와 HTLV-1의 검색

        Background and Objectives : Extranodal non-Hodgkin's lymphoma(NHL) of the head and neck(H&N) accounts for 10-20% of all cases of NHL. Despite their frequency, the cause of these lymphomas is still poorly understood. Recently, the role of viral origin in NHLs, including Epstein-Barr virus(EBV), as the main cause of sinonasal lymphomas of T/NK cell phenotype and HTLV-1 as a cause of acute T-cell lymphoma/leukemia has been well documented. We investigated the clinicopathologic findings, immunophenotypic profile, and status of EBV and HTLV-1 DNA of patients with H&N lymphoma. Materials and Methods : Twenty-seven patients with NHL of H&N region were studied. There were 15 males and 12 females with the median age of 50 years. All patients were reclassified according to the Working formulation(WF) and REAL classification. EBV genome DNA and HTLV-1 RNA were surveyed by PCR assay using formalin-fixed and paraffin-embedded tissue blocks. Results : The tonsil was the most commonly involved site(44.4%) followed by nasal cavity(18.5%), nasopharynx(18.5%) and orbit(7.4%). Immunophenotyping revealed 19 cases of B cell lineage, 7 cases of T cell lineage and one case of null cell type. Most of B-cell lymphomas were diffuse large cell lymphomas(58%). Tonsillar lymphomas were all B-cell origin. Four of the five nasal cavity lymphomas and one nasopharyngeal lymphoma showed an angiocentric T/NK cell phenotype with strong association with EBV. EBV genome was detected in 15 of 26 H&N NHLs(57.7%). Seven of 19 B-cell lymphomas(36.8%) and all T/NK or null cell type lymphomas were positive for EBV DNA. However, there was no HTLV-1 positive cases found. Conclusions : It could be concluded that the high incidence of EBV of angiocentric T/NK-cell lymphomas of the nasal cavity may indicate a probable role of EBV in the development of these lymphomas.

        Position Sensitivity and Gamma-ray Separation of a Plastic Scintillator for a Neutron Camera Based on Electric Collimation

        We are currently developing a proof-of-principle neutron camera based on electric collimation which consists of two detectors, with each arrayed by five plastic scintillating rods with dimensions of 1 × 1 × 10 cm3 for the purpose of imaging neutrons. The imaging principle of such a neutron camera is quite different from that of neutron radiography based on neutron absorption. In this case, the image resolution of a neutron camera is sensitive to the uncertainty in the interaction position and the gamma-ray background. To determine the interaction position, we made use of the center of gravity in charge signals generated from photomultiplier tubes attached to both ends of the rod. The interaction positions were related to the intensity of scintillation light output at one end of the rod, decreasing due to the attenuation effect with moving away from the position at which the scintillation light output was generated. In order to improve the image resolution, we tried to separate gamma rays from neutrons by using the time-of-flight method.

        편측성 요관 폐쇄모델에서 Transforming Growth Factor-β1 mRNA에 대한 리본형 Antisense Oligodeoxynucleotide의 유전자 치료 효과

        In unilateral ureteral obstruction (UUO), the obstructed kidney is characterized by interstitial fibrosis and an increase in transforming growth factor (TGF)-β1. Interstitial expression of TGF-β1 is important in tublointerstitial fibrosis. The objectives of this study is to make new ribbon-type antisense oligodeoxynucleotides (ODN) for TGF-β1 which are resistant to exonuclease and to examine the effects of TGF-β1 on reducing tubulointerstitial fibrosis of the kidney. Methods : We introduced a new ribbon-type antisense ODN for TGF-β1 in rats using the UUO model to block interstitial fibrosis by tail vein injection. A combination of one antisense sequences for TGF-β1 was adopted to construct a large antisense molecule with a loop and stem. Artificial viral envelope (AVE)-type hemagglutinating virus of Japan (HVJ)- liposomes were used as a vector system for the delivery of antisense ODN. Results : The levels of TGF-β1 mRNA was decreased more in the cultured mesangial cells treated with ribbon-type antisense ODN than in that of a linear-type antisense ODN for TGF-β1. TGF-β1 mRNA was increased markedly in the interstitium of untreated obstructed kidneys. Northern analysis revealed that the levels of TGF-β1 mRNA were decreased in the obstructed kidneys treated with antisense ODN. The fibrosis of the obstructed kidneys treated with ribbon-type antisense ODN was dramatically less than that of the untreated group. Conclusions : These results demonstrate that the introduction of new ribbon-type antisense ODN for TGF-β1 may be a potential therapeutic maneuver for preventing interstitial fibrosis.

        과산화수소에 의해 유도되는 세포사멸을 저해하는 Bax Inhibitor-1

        Bax Inhibitor-1 (BI-1) is an anti-apoptotic transmembrane protein that is related with Bcl-2 family proteins, but it does not belong to any known gene family of vertebrates. BI-1 seemed to be an ancient regulatory protein, as homologues of BI-1 exist in not only most eukaryotes but prokaryotes. Recent studies showed that overexpression of BI-1 were observed in several kinds of cancers and led to suppression of the apoptotic cell death. BI-1 was found to have anti-apoptotic and oncogenic effects, but the exact molecular mechanism for the effects was not completely understood. Here, in order to investigate the relationship between the anti-apoptotic functions of BI-1 and reactive oxygen species (ROS) production, we studied the effect of BI-1 overexpression on the hydrogen peroxide-induced apoptosis. Cell death was induced by hydrogen peroxide treatment in a dose-dependent manner and found to be suppressed by stable expression of human BI-1. From DAPI-staining nuclear fragmentation analysis, stable expression of human BI-1 was assessed to protect the cells against hydrogen peroxide-induced apoptosis. Moreover, BI-1 expression had effect on decreasing the intracellular ROS level induced by hydrogen peroxide-caused oxidative stress. These results indicate that BI-1 could suppress hydrogen peroxide-induced apoptosis by regulating intracellular ROS level. (Cancer Prev Res 11, 192-198, 2006)
