Purpose This study examines the effectiveness of hedging Japan/Korea Marker (JKM) markets by estimating the optimal minimum variance hedge ratio with various models. Design/Methodology/Approach In this study, the LNG Japan/Korea Marker (JKM), which is published by Platts, was used over the period of January 02, 2014 to July 12, 2019. Both constant and dynamic hedge ratios were found using various methods including OLS, VECM, BEKK-GARCH, and the MRS model. Estimated hedge ratios through an out-of-sample analysis were evaluated through hedge effectiveness (HE). Findings Basically, the empirical results indicate that hedging effectiveness seems low in both the in-sample and out-of-sample periods. The OLS model slightly outperforms time-variant models, but generally there is no significant gap between models. It is worth noting that although OLS, VECM and BEKK-GARCH models hold relatively stable outcomes in both horizons, the MRS model experiences a large gap between 14.85% and 5.90%. Research Implications The results do not show a high hedging effectiveness for several reasons. However, considering most of studies on this issue focus on popular gas indices such as NBP, TTF and HH, this study makes a valuable contribution to the research of Asian LNG markets by comparing various hedging models for the first time.

In tactical environment, tactical wireless networks are generally comprised of Tactical MANETs(T-MANETs) or Tactical WMNs(T-WMNs). The most important services in tactical network are voice and low rate data such as command control and situation awareness. These data should be forwarded via multi-hop in tactical wireless networks. Urgent and mission-critical data should be protected in this environment, so QoS(Quality of Service) must be guaranteed for specific type of traffic for satisfying the requirement of a user. In IEEE 802.11s, TDMA-based MAC protocol, MCCA(MCF Controlled Channel Access), has a function of resource reservation. But 802.11s protocol can not guarantee the end-to-end QoS, because it only supports reservation with neighbors. In this paper, we propose the routing protocol, R-HWMP(Reservation-based HWMP) which has the resource reservation to support the end-to-end QoS. The proposed protocol can reserve the channel slots and find optimal path in T-WMNs. We analyzed the performance of the proposed protocol and showed that end-to-end QoS is guaranteed using NS-2 simulation.

데이터베이스 벤치마크를 위한 통합 도구

As new database systems are developed or new functions are added to existing database systems, database developers or users would like to evaluate new database systems or new functions. This paper presents an integrated database benchmark suite. The integrated suite offers genetic benchmarks, custom benchmark, and hybrid benchmarks to users on a unified Web user interface. With regard to text data generation, the integrated suite supports eight data distributions with three data types. The integrated suite can also generate XML data in three different ways. Users can run benchmarks in realistic environments by performing the workload generation facility of the integrated suite, which generates composite workloads similar to real-world workloads. Using supporting tools, users can easily implement new generic and custom benchmarks in the integrated suite. An illustrative demonstration to add a new custom benchmark into the integrated suite is presented. 데이터베이스 개발자나 사용자는 새로운 데이터베이스 시스템이 개발되거나 기존 데이터베이스 시스템에 새로운 기능이 추가되면 벤치마크를 통해 해당 시스템이나 기능의 성능을 점검하게 된다. 본 논문에서는 데이터베이스 시스템을 위한 벤치마크 통합 도구를 제안한다. 벤치마크 통합도구는 범용 벤치마크, 주문 벤치마크, 혼합 벤치마크를 사용자가 하나의 사용자 인터페이스를 사용하여 쉽게 수행할 수 있도록 지원한다. 텍스트 데이터 생성과 관련하여, 벤치마크 통합도구는 3가지 데이터 형에 대해 8가지 데이터분포를 제공하여 실세계와 유사한 데이터 생성을 수행하도록 돕는다. 또한 벤치마크 통합도구에서는 3가지 서로 다른 방법을 사용하여 XML 데이터를 생성하도록 지원한다. 사용자들은 벤치마크 통합도구의 작업부하 생성기능을 사용하여 실세계와 유사한 환경에서 벤치마크를 수행할 수 있다. 벤치마크 통합도구는 사용자가 새로운 범용 벤치마크나 주문 벤치마크를 쉽게 구현할 수 있도록 지원한다. 본 논문에서는 새로운 주문 벤치마크를 벤치마크 통합도구에 쉽게 추가할 수 있음을 예를 통해 보인다.

웨이블릿 분석을 통한 수요-공급요인과 해운시황의 연관성 분석

해운시장의 구조적 복잡성 및 높은 변동성을 감안할 때, 해운시황에 미치는 영향요인을 식별하고 상호관계를 파악하는 것은 아주 중요하다. 본 연구는 해운시장에서 가장 근본적인 수요 및 공급요인이라고 할 수 있는 세계 경제상황 및 선대량과 해운시황 간의 동적 상호관계 분석을 목적으로 한다. 벌크선형 중 케이프선과 파나막스선을 대상으로 1999년 2021년까지의 GDP, 선대량 성장률, BCI 및 BPI의 분기 자료를 사용하였으며, 웨이블릿 결합성 분석 및 웨이블릿 그랜저 인과관계 분석을 통해 시간-주기영역에서 변수 간 동조화 및 인과관계를 파악하고자 하였다. 실증분석 결과, 변수 간 동조화 및 인과관계에 있어 주기별 및 시기별로 큰 차이를 보여 이들 변수간 동적 상호작용이 존재한다는 것을 알 수 있었다. 또한 수요와 공급요인을 동시에 적용한 다중 웨이블릿 결합성 분석에서 변수간 인과성이 명확하게 드러나지 않은 것과는 달리 제어변수로 선대량 성장률과 GDP를 설정한 부분 웨이블릿 결합성 분석에서는 주기 및 시기별 인과관계를 파악할 수 있었다. 이를 통해 두 수급요인이 해운경기에 뚜렷한 영향을 미친다는 것과 해운시황 영향요인의 상호관계 분석을위해서는 수요와 공급요인을 분리하여 해석하는 것이 필요하다는 것을 알 수 있었다. 마지막으로 해운시장의 호황과 불황에 해상운임지수는 각각 수요 및 공급요인과 높은 상관성을 보였으며, 전반적으로호황일 때는 GDP가 운임지수를 동일 위상으로 선도하고 불황일 때는 선대량 성장률이 운임지수를 반대 위상으로 선도하였다. 본 연구의 분석결과는 기존에 사용이 미미했던 웨이블릿 분석방법을 해운분야에 적용했다는 점과 수급요인을 분리하여 해운시황을 분석함으로써 수요 및 공급으로 해운시황을 판단할 수 있는 합리적인 근거를 제시하였다는 점에서 의의가 있다.

Design is the reaction to all the environments and objects surrounding and nature of human beings to attempt meaningful change. The space as a mixture of natural order and human order constantly affects human life. The meaning and value of space design is not tied to the artistic, aesthetic, and material characteristics, but begins with human experience and self-directed. As an object of the learner's active reactions to the environment, ‘Space’ is suitable as a self-directed art learning material leading to personal development and social improvement through communication. The learner is able to develop self-directed art learning ability when he / she participates in art activities and develops and reflects himself / herself, and understands, respects, cares and cooperates with others' thoughts and feelings in the process. Therefore, this study designed 'Future Classroom Design' which is a space design program considering the field of school based on the relation between space and self-directed. As a result of this program, preliminary elementary teachers practiced and examined the possibility of site and expected effect. The learner can expect to develop self - directed art learning ability by creating and evaluating a future classroom model, a space design program, by linking with other subjects and visual communication based on his own experience. 디자인은 인간을 둘러싼 모든 환경과 사물에 대한 반응이고, 의미 있는 변화를 시도하려는 인간의 본성이다. 자연의 질서와 인간이 만든 질서의 혼재로서의 공간은 끊임없이 인간의 삶에 영향을 준다. 공간 디자인의 의미와 가치는 예술적, 미적, 재료적 특징에 매어 있는 것이 아니라 인간의 경험과 자기 주도성에서 시작된다. 환경에 대한 학습자의 적극적인 반응의 대상으로서 공간은 소통을 통해서 개인의 발전과 사회적 개선의 방향으로 이끌어 가는 자기 주도적 미술 학습 제재로 적합하다. 학습자가 미술 활동에 주도적으로 참여하면서 자기를 계발·성찰하고, 그 과정에서 타인의 생각과 느낌을 이해하고 존중·배려하며 협력할 때 자기 주도적 미술 학습 능력을 기를 수 있다. 이에 본 연구는 공간과 자기 주도성의 관련성을 바탕으로 공간 디자인 프로그램인 ‘미래 교실 디자인’을 설계하고, 예비 초등 교사들의 디자인 프로세스 실습을 통해 현장 가능성과 기대 효과를 고찰하였다. 학습자는 자신의 경험을 바탕으로 타 교과와의 연계 및 시각적 소통으로 공간 디자인 프로그램인 미래 교실 모형을 제작 및 평가하면서 자기 주도적 미술 학습 능력을 함양할 것을 기대할 수 있다

사용자 관점에서의 조인 연산 평가 방법론

The join operation is an important, fundamental operation in database systems, and it costs much to execute. In the literature, there are a number of technical attempts on development and evaluation of efficient join operations, all of which have been carried out In developers' perspective. This paper proposes a join operations benchmark that is dedicated to the evaluation of the join operations in database systems in users' perspective. This benchmark helps users select a database system that performs the join operations well in their work environment. The benchmark consists of 42 join queries, which are derived from on six performance factors that are picked out in two join categories. We have implemented this benchmark with two commercial database systems. The experimental results are also reported. 조인 연산은 데이터베이스 시스템의 가장 기본적이고 중요한 연산이며, 큰 수행 비용을 필요로 하는 연산이다. 지금까지 효율적인 조인 연산의 구현과 평가를 위한 다양한 연구가 진행되었다. 기존의 조인 연산 평가는 구현자 관점에서 우수한 알고리즘을 규명하기 위해 개발되었다. 본 논문은 사용자 관점에서 조인 연산 성능을 평가하는 조인 연산 평가 방법론을 기술한다. 본 성능 평가는 사용자가 자신의 업무에 적합한 조인 연산을 수행하는 데이터베이스 시스템을 선택하는데 도움을 준다. 본 논문에서는 두 가지 조인 범주와 여섯 가지의 조인 성능 영향 요소를 고려하여 42개의 평가 질의를 제안한다. 마지막으로 제안된 방법론에 따라 두 개의 상용 데이터베이스 시스템을 대상으로 구현하고 성능 평가 결과를 기술하였다.

전술 무선 메쉬 네트워크에서 종단간 QoS를 보장하는 라우팅 프로토콜 설계

전술 환경에서의 전투무선망은 Tactical MANET (T-MANET) 또는 Tactical WMN (T-WMN) 형태로 구성되는 것이 일반적이다. 이런 전투무선망에서는 음성 및 단문메시지 등의 데이터가 멀티홉을 거쳐서 전달되어야 한다. 전투무선망은 가장 긴급하고 중요한 데이터의 QoS를 보장해줄 수 있어야 하기 때문에 특정 트래픽에 대해 사용자의 요구 조건을 만족할 수 있는 QoS 가 보장되어야 한다. 기존 메쉬 네트워크의 MAC 프로토콜 중 예약 기능을 가지고 있는 TDMA 기반 MAC은 이웃 노드와의 예약만을 지원하기 때문에 종단간의 QoS 는 보장할 수가 없다. 이에 본 논문에서는 민간 부문의 메쉬 네트워크에서 사용하는 경로 선택 프로토콜인 HWMP에 종단간 대역폭을 예약하여 QoS를 보장할 수 있는 기능을 추가한 R-HWMP를 설계 및 구현하였다. 또한 NS-2 시뮬레이션을 통해 R-HWMP의 성능을 분석하고 종단간의 QoS 가 보장됨을 확인하였다.
