        결함 제어를 통한 금속산화물 소재의 전기화학 특성 제어

        Metal oxide based materials have been widely used to fields of electrochemical applications. Recently, various type of defects from microstructures of metal oxides and their nanocomposites have been raised as the important material design factors for realizing highly improved electrochemical properties. Previous experimental and theoretical works have suggested that controlling the reaction activity and kinetics of the key electrochemical reactions by activated interfaces originating from the defect sites can play an important role in achieving the robust energy storage and conversion. Therefore, this paper focuses on the role of defect-controlled metal oxide materials such as doping, edge-sites, grain boundaries and nano-sized pores for the high performances in energy storage devices and electrocatalysts. The research approaches demonstrated here could offer a possible route to obtain noble ideas for designing the metal oxide materials for the energy storage and conversion applications.

        Effect of Polydeoxyribonucleotide on Lipopolysaccharide and Sevoflurane-Induced Postoperative Cognitive Dysfunction in Human Neuronal SH-SY5Y Cells

        Postoperative cognitive dysfunction (POCD) is a complication of surgery characterized by acute cognitive dysfunction, memory impairment, and loss of attention. The effect of polydeoxyribonucleotide (PDRN) on the POCD environment induced by lipopolysaccharide (LPS) and sevoflurane exposure were investigated in human neuronal SH-SY5Y cells. Methods: The 3-(4,5-dimethylthiazol-2-yl)-2,5-diphenyltetrazolium bromide (MTT) and WST-8 assays were performed to determine cell viability. Cyclic adenosine-3,5′-monophosphate (cAMP), tumor necrosis factor (TNF)-α, interleukin (IL)-1β, and IL-6 concentrations were measured using enzyme-linked immunoassay (ELISA). Immunocytochemistry was performed for vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) and brain-derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF), and western blotting for TNF-α, IL-1β, IL-6, and cAMP response element-binding protein (CREB). Results: Induction of the POCD environment reduced cell viability in the MTT and WST-8 assays. PDRN treatment reduced TNF-α, IL-1β, and IL-6 expression in POCD conditions, and significantly increased cAMP concentrations and the p-CREB/ CREB ratio. PDRN treatment activated adenosine A2A receptors and then increased the expression of VEGF and BDNF, which had been reduced by LPS and sevoflurane exposure. Conclusions: PDRN treatment showed a therapeutic effect on the LPS and sevoflurane-induced POCD environment. PDRN was shown to have an excellent therapeutic effect on POCD, not only by promoting rapid anti-inflammatory effects in damaged cells, but also by enhancing the expression of BDNF and VEGF.

      • 터널 부속시설의 설치위치에 관한 연구

        문명과 사회가 발전함에 따라 사람 및 물자의 이동량이 증가하여 왔고 이러한 이동량의 증가로 보다 안전하고 경제적인 도로의 필요성이 요구되고 있다. 급증하는 교통량과 교통사고의 증가는 현재 중요한 사회문제로 대두되었고, 수많은 사람들이 교통사고로 인명피해를 입고 있어 신종 재앙중의 하나라고도 일컬어지기도 한다. 교통안전분야의 연구는 생명과 관련된 분야로써 다른 어떤 연구 분야보다도 우선시 되어야 한다. 이런 측면에서 근래에 안전 분야의 중요성을 인식하고, 이 분야에 대한 관심과 중요성이 증대되고 있는 것은 대단히 고무적인 일이라 할 수 있다. 터널구간은 기본구간에 비하여 운전자의 주행속도에 변화가 생기는 구간이며 이러한 주행속도의 변화는 사고율과 관계가 깊다. 또한 터널 내에서 사고가 발생하면 대규모 지체를 초래할 뿐만 아니라 연쇄사고로 이어질 수도 있는 등 대형사고의 위험이 따르게 된다. 하지만 터널 부근의 부속시설물은 터널입구, 혹은 터널 출구에 설치하고 있으나 특별한 설치기준이나 방법이 제시되어 있지 않아, 터널 부근의 도로 설계가 일관성이 없는 실정이다. 본 연구에서는 터널부근의 교통사고를 분석하고, 3차원 시거를 계산하여 터널부속시설물의 적정한 위치를 제시하고자 한다.

        수리·수문설계시스템 및 비율보정계수 기법을 활용한 농업용 저수지의 홍수기 운영기준 평가

        Despite the practical limitations of calculating the amount of inflow and supply related to the operation of agricultural reservoirs, the role of agricultural reservoirs is gradually being emphasized. In particular, as interest in disaster safety has increased, the demand for preliminary measures to prepare for disasters has been rising, for instance, pre-discharging agricultural reservoirs for flood control. The aim of this study is to analyze the plans for the flood season reservoir operation considering pre-discharge period and water level limit. Accordingly, we optimized the simulation of daily storage using the ratio correction factor (RCFs) and analyzed the amount of inflow and supply using K-HAS. In addition we developed the drought determination coefficient (k) as a indicator of water availability and applied it for supplementing the risk level criteria in the Drought Crisis Response Manual. The results showed that it would be difficult to set the water level limit during the flood period in the situation of little water supply for flood control in agricultural reservoirs. Therefore, it is necessary to operate the reservoir management regulations after measures such as securing additional storage water are established in the future.

      • Flexible, Tunable, and High Capacity Ultracapacitor using Nitron-Doped Graphene

        We developed a simple method to synthesis a nitrogen doped graphene, nitrogen plasma treated graphene (NPG) sheets thought nitrogen plasma etching of graphene oxide (GO). X-ray photo electron spectroscopy (XPS) study of NPG sheets treated at various plasma conditions reveal that N-doping is classified to 3 kinds of binding configurations. The nitrogen doping concentration is at least 1.5 at % and up to 3 at% with changing of ratio of nitrogen configuration in NPG. Our group demonstrate ultracapacitor with high capacity and extremely durable using a NPG sheets that are comparable to pristine graphene supercapacitor, and pseudocapacitor using polymer and metal oxide with redox reaction, capacitance that are three-times higher, and a cycle life that are extremely stable. We also realized flexible capacitor by using the paper electrode that are coated by NPG sheets. NPG paper capacitor presented almost same performance compare with NPG on a metal substrate, and durability is much more enhanced than that. To additionally explain that how different kind of atoms in graphene layers can act as the ion absorption sites, we simulated the binding energy between nitrogen in graphene layer and ions in electrolyte. Increasing the energy density and long cycle life of ultracapacitor will enable them to compete with batteries and conventional capacitors in number of applications.

        사외이사 특성과 이익조정과의 관련성 연구

        본 연구는 사외이사의 특성들이 기업의 이익조정 여부와 관련된 부분에 연구 목적을 두고, 세부적으로는 기업의 사외이사 급여와 감사위원회의 설치 여부 및 사외이사 비율이 경영자의 실물 이익조정에 얼마나 영향을 미치고 있는 지에 대해서 실증분석을 하였다. 본 연구의 표본기간을 2009년부터 2010년까지로 하였으며, 총 표본수는 988개의 기업 자료를 이용하여 사외이사제도가 경영자의 실물활동을 통한 이익조정에 어떤 영향을 미치는지에 대하여 증권거래소에 상장된 금융업종을 제외한 업종을 대상으로 분석하였다. 본 연구의 결과는 다음과 같이 요약될 수 있다. 사외이사의 특성으로서는 사외이사 급여와, 감사위원회 설치 여부, 사외이사 비율 등이 있는데, 사외이사의 급여가 높을수록 기업에 대한 감시활동이 높아져 경영자가 이익을 하향 조정하는 것으로 나타나고 있다. 또한 감사위원회를 설치한 경우도 기업의 감시활동이 높아져 이익을 하향 조정하는 것으로 나타났으며, 사외이사 비율의 경우도 높을수록 기업의 감시활동이 높아져 이익을 하향 조정하는 것으로 나타났다. 결론적으로 기업의 사외이사 특성과 경영자의 실물이익조정의 관련성을 보면 사외이사의 급여와, 감사위원회 설치 여부, 사외이사의 비율 등 모두 경영자가 이익을 편의적으로 조정하는 것을 막고 있는 것으로 나타나고 있으며 이는 기업의 투명성과 건전성 측면에서 사외이사의 특성들이 사회에 긍정적인 역할을 하고 있다고 볼 수 있다. The purpose of the present research is to investigate the relation of the outside director characteristics and the real activity earnings management of a company and this research did an intensive analysis on specific subjects such as the salary of the outside directors, the existence of inspection committee, and the effect of the percentage of the outside directors on the manager"s real activity earnings management. To give empirical analysis, the research used the fact that the salary information of the outside directors is open to public since 2009 to gather 2009 and 2010 data of 988 companies of non-financial industry listed in the Korea Stock Exchange and made an analysis on them to find out what effect the outside director system gives to the manager"s real activity earnings management. Results of the research can be summarized as follows: Outside director characteristics include outside director"s salary, the existence of inspection committee or not, and the percentage of outside directors. In other words, when the outside director salary is higher, its monitoring on the company becomes more intense and it is shown that CEO adjusts the profit downward. Also, if the inspection committee exists, its monitoring on the company activity is also more intense and follows the downward profit adjustment, and the same conclusion for the case of higher percentage of the outside directors. In conclusion, the relation between the outside director characteristics and the manager"s real activity earnings management shows that salary of the outside directors, existence of the inspection committee, and higher percentage of the outside directors all prevent the manager from manipulating the profit arbitrarily and hence the outside director characteristics play positive roles to the society in the sense of clarity and prudence of companies.

      • 폐동정맥기형(Pulmonary Arteriovenous Malformation) 환자의 뇌농양제거술, 대퇴골 개방정복 및 내고정술, 복강경하 담낭절제술 시 마취관리 경험

        Pulmonary arteriovenous malformation(PAVM) are caused by abnormal direct communications between pulmonary arteries and veins. Common clinical signs of PAVM are epistaxis, dyspnea, hypoxia, cyanosis and clubbing fingers by an intrapulmonary right to left shunt of the circulating blood without gas exchange. And neurological events like brain abscess and cerebral infarction are occurred by a paradoxical embolism across the PAVM. Thus, A comprehensive understanding of the PAVM should be considered to maintain the hypoxic pulmonary vasoconstriction response during general anesthesia and to reduce the intrapulmonary right to left shunt fraction. We report a rare case of a patient with PAVM who received three surgical procedures under general anesthesia. There were various patterns of each general anesthesia, and the patient was expired one week after the last surgery.
