      • 강천산온천수의 장기 음용이 ICR 마우스에게 미치는 생물학적 효과

        Spring water traditionally has been used for hydrotherapy due to its useful minerals and therapeutic function through bathing and drinking. This study was conducted to confirm the long-term drinking effect of Gangcheon-mountain spring water (GSW) in ICR mice. The mice were randomly divided into control (n=18) and experiment (GSW; n=18) group, and were supplied with tab water (TW) and GSW for 100 days, respectively. As a result, fasting blood glucose concentration was 108.6±10.2 mg/dl in control group and 101.9±23.5 mg/dl in experiment group, and blood pressure (systolic/diastolic) was 121±25 / 84±24 mmHg and 123±27 / 74±19 mmHg in TW and GSW group, respectively. In the result of hematological test (complete blood cell count), there was no significant difference between two groups. The serum value of biochemical parameters were included in the normal range although Na and Cl revealed significant difference among them. The weight of organs and body did not show significance between two groups. The number of sperm in the experiment group (109.97±25.04) was higher than control (98.5±32.3) although it has no significance. These results indicate that GSW is safe as a daily drinking water. The difference of sperm number is speculated that drinking GSW has possibility of enhancement of reproductive function compared to TW due to useful minerals and comparatively low oxidation reduction potential value compared to TW.

      • 강천산온천수 음용이 당뇨병 환자의 혈당강하에 미치는 영향

        Type 2 diabetes mellitus (DM) is a chronic condition that blood glucose is not used as a energy source because of resistance or insufficient production of insulin, which results in hyperglycemia and glycosuria. Medication and dietotherapy is paralleled for the treatment of DM, however the side effect of medication is on the rise for DM patients. The purpose of this study is to confirm the blood glucose reducing effect of Gangcheon mountain spring water (GSW) in Sunchang-gun, Jeollabuk-do on the subject of DM patients based on its rich mineral contents. Also, GSW was previously studied to have anti-oxidative effect and rapid absorption based on the property of alkalescence and reduction power. The participants were divided into two groups: GSW group (n=20) which were supplied with Gangcheon mountain spring water and TW group (n=20) wupplied with purified tap water (TW). The drinking volume of water per a day was 30ml/lg body weight and the experimental period was one month. After one month, fasting blood glucose and blood pressure of two groups were measured before and after drinking of TW and GSW. As a result, GSW group showed a significant reduction of blood glucose (p<0.01) and blood pressure (p<0.01) after drinking GSW, while TW group did not show any difference. Collectively, this study suggests that the long-term drinking of Gangcheon mountain spring water may have a positive effect on the control of blood pressure and blood glucose level of DM patients that might be helpful in the management of DM.

      • 강천산온천수와 나노버블수 음용이 당뇨병환자의 혈당강하에 미치는 효과

        The purpose of this study is to confirm the blood glucose reducing effect of Gangcheon mountain spring water (GSW) in Sunchang-gun, Jeollabuk-do and nanobubble water made of the hydrogen gas bubbling on the subject of DM patients. And body obesity, urine, blood and blood pressure test were examined to confirm the body changes. The participants were divided into three groups: GSW group (n=20) which were supplied with Gangcheon mountain spring water, TW group (n=20) supplied with purified tap water, and NBW group (n=20) supplied with nanobubble water. The drinking volume of water per a day was 30mL/kg body weight and the experimental period was three months. GSW group showed a significant reduction of blood glucose (p<0.01) and blood pressure (p<0.01) in a month, but others groups did not show any difference. However, there are no major impacts on blood glucose and blood pressure in two and three months. Also, Nanobubble group showed significant reduction of malondiadehyde in a month (p<0.05). Nothing unusual was found in the obesity, urine and blood tests.

      • 고농도 수소수음용 및 수소가스흡입의 항산화 효과

        Antioxidant effects of hydrogen gas inhalation for 60 mins (75ml/min) and drinking high concentration of hydrogen water (pH 8.49±0.3, ORP 23mV, hydrogen concentration 1177ppb) were examined – for more than 30 years of age of healthy 32 males volunteers. In hydrogen water drinking group, reactive oxygen species was change to 297297.0±57.9 from 303.8±53.6 in 5 mins. In hydrogen gas inhalation group, reactive oxygen species was changed to 284.4.0±53.6 from 310.4±56.2 in 60mins. Also, The individual reduction rate of reactive oxygen species was 56.3% in hydrogen water drinking group and 68.8% in hydrogen gas inhalation group. These results show that hydrogen gas inhalation and hydrogen water drinking have antioxidant effects.

      • 대마씨 추출물이 당뇨 및 지질개선에 미치는 영향

        To confirm the effects of hemp seed extract on diabetes and lipid improvement, clinical subjects were divided into two groups, hemp seed oil group (n=20) and hemp seed globulus (n=20). The feeding amount is 1 mL/day in hemp see oil group and 30g/day in hemp seed globulus group, and blood glucose level, blood test, blood pressure, pulse, inbody and urine test were examined after 60 days. There were no differences between hemp seed oil and hemp seed globulus in all tests except glucose level and lipid tests. In glucose level, that of hemp seed globulus group was lower than that of hemp seed oil group. Initial glucose level is 152.6±106.4 mg/dL, 129.4±56.8 mg/dL after a month, 110.2±21.1 mg/dL after two months in hemp seed globulus group (p<0.05). Triglyceride content is 146.4±48.1 mg/dL before eating, 124.3±52.5 mg/dL after one month, and 147.2±73.2 mg/dL after two months in hemp seed oil group and 218.4±249.9 mg/dL before eating, 169.4±151.2 mg/dL after one month, and 169.8±188.0 mg/dL after two months in hemp seed globulus. These results showed lowered triglyceride but, there is no statistical significance. In conclusion, hemp seed globulus may available in diabetes because of it has a blood glucose depressing effect. And the unsaturated fatty acids in hemp seed oil seems to be affect lipid improvement in body.
