The Han River discharges 18×109 tones of freshwater per year into the Yellow Sea, and its variation of water quality influences its estuary. In order to analyze the direct effect of the long-term variations of the water quality and material flux on the ecosystem of the Han River’s estuary, we collected water quality data(e.g., water temperature, dissolved oxygen, COD, nitrogen, phosphorus, suspended solids(SS), and chlorophyll-α) for 23 years(1994~2017). Discharge from the Han River into the Yellow Sea was influenced by rainfall of the watershed of the river based on positive relation between the discharge and amount of rainfall, but the discharge has been seasonally regulated by dams constructed in up- and mid-stream. Phosphate and ammonia concentrations showed a decline while nitrate concentrations consistently increased. COD and SS displayed a decline before the dam construction in 2013 but increased afterwards. On the contrary, DO consistently increased before dam construction in 2013 but decreased afterwards. Change in water quality by river discharge was distinct when river discharge was minimal.This resulted in distinct seasonal change. The flux of COD, chlorophyll-α, ammonia and phosphate decreased, but SS flux increased after 2013 which means that the flux of organic matter and nutrients decreased when the SS flux increased.

A wireless sensor network inherently comprises a plurality of sensor nodes widely deployed for sensing environmental information. To add new functions or to correct some faulty functions of an existing wireless sensor network, the firmware for each sensor node needs to be updated. Firmware update would be quite troublesome if it requires the gathering, reprogramming, and redeploy of all of already deployed sensor nodes. Over-the-air programming (OTA) facilitates the firmware update process, thereby allowing convenient maintenance of an already-deployed sensor network. This paper proposes and implements a remote firmware update mechanism for a TDMA-based wireless sensor network, in which the firmware for sensor nodes constituting the TDMA-based sensor network can be easily updated and the update process can be conveniently monitored from a remote site. We verify the validity of the proposed firmware update method via experiments and introduce three wireless sensor networks installed in outdoor sites in which the proposed firmware update mechanism has been exploited.

This study was performed to present the processing of determination of detailed cycle event for the novice cyclist through the analysis of physical and physiological characteristics. Subjects were composed o f4 teenaged cyclists. Analysis was composed of the physical characteristics, physical fitness, and physiological factors. The physiological factors were inculded aerobic capacity, anaerobic capacity, lactate tolerance, muscle fiber composition, and isokinetic muscle function. Aerobic capacity was assessed by the maximal oxygen uptake, ventilation threshold, lactate threshold, recovery rate of total work output, peak power output, mean power output, fatigue index, moving distance, peak revolution, and peak value of blood lactate concentration during 10sec, 30sec and 60sec supramaximal exercise on the bicycle ergometer. Lactate tolerance was assessed throughout the specific protocol. Following a supramaximal exercise with the intensity of 130% VO_2max, the secondary maximal exercise was performed after 5min interval. In this condition, duration of exercise, and peak value and recovery rate of blood lactate concentration were assessed. Muscle fiber composition was analysed the percentage of type Ⅰ, type Ⅱa, Ⅱb and Ⅱc in vastus lateralis. Isokinetic muscle function was assessed throughout the Cybex test on extension and flexion of knee joint. In conclusion, the results of this investigation indicate that subject KHI and KDH can be characterized as possessing a genceric character of sprint, subject JHS has a generic
