        Nano-engineering of Hybrid Titanium Oxide Structure (TiO2) using Pore-widening Concentration for Enhanced Superhydrophilicity

        Titanium alloy is gaining attention in the medical industry due to its excellent biocompatibility and osteoconductivity. However, the natural oxide film on the titanium surface is insoluble, resulting in inadequate bone adhesion. Therefore, it is necessary to optimize the contact between biological tissues and implant surfaces, and alter the chemical composition and morphological characteristics of the implant surface. In this study, the anodization method was applied to titanium surface treatment to form a uniform and robust oxide film. Subsequently, a chemical process, pore-widening, was employed to change the morphological characteristics of the oxide film. The concentration of the pore-widening solution was varied at 2, 4, 6, and 8 wt% and the process time was set at 30 and 60 minutes. As the concentration of the pore-widening solution increased the pore diameter of the oxide film increased. Notably, at 6 wt% for 60 minutes, the oxide film exhibited a coexistence of pillars and pores. Based on this, it was determined that surface roughness increased with higher concentration and longer process time. Additionally, the presence of pillars and pores structures maximized hydrophilicity. This study provides insights into enhancing the surface properties of titanium for improved performance in medical implants.

      • 정상인 및 간질환에서의 혈청 Lipoprotein에 관한 연구

        Serum lipoprotein patterns were studied in 66 normal persons and 64 patients with acute hepatitis and in 57 patients with cirrhosis of liver at Asan Foundation Attached Hospital from 1980 to 1981. Serum lipoprotein were seperated by electrophoresis with agarose gel and the following results were obtained. 1. In normal Korean, serum α-lipoprotein showed decrements with aging, while serum β-lipoprotein and pre-β-lipoprotein increased with aging, but the difference was not statistically significant. Significant alteration by sex in serum lipoprotein patternswere not observed. 2. Serum α and pre β-lipoprotein in patients with acute hepatitis gave lower value than in the normal persons, but the value of serum β-lipoprotein were significantly elevated. Sex and age difference showed no statical significance in this disease. 3. The value of serum α-lipoprotein fraction in patients with acute viral hepatitis B gave higher value than non-B acute viral hepatitis, but the difference was not statically significant. 4. Serum α and pre-β-lipoprotein fraction in patients with icteric hepatitis showed decrement with increasing of serum total bilirubin level. 5. In the patients with cirrhosis of liver, the value of α-lipoprotein was lower than normal subjects and patients with acute hepatitis, but (serum β-lipoprotein fraction was higher than normal subjects and patients with acute hepatitis. 6. Serum α-ilpoprotein fraction in patients with chronic hepatic encephalopathy was significantly lower then patients with cirrhosis of liver, but markedly higher value of serum β-lipoprotein than cirrhosis of liver was observed.

        두통의 분류와 진단의 동서의학적 고찰

        Objectives : To establish a well organized and systematic oriental medicine classification of headache, the western and oriental medicine diagnosis and treatment systems of headache were reviewed. Methods : The history and development process of western medicine classification of headache were studied. A literature review of oriental medicine classification of headache was done. The characters of each classification systems were assessed. Results : In western medicine, many international societies concerning headache have been established. Through these societies, a classification of headache which can be used by both researchers and practitioners has been suggested. And the suggested classification system is highly recommended to be used in studies in order to increase utilization. As data is accumulated, new versions of the classification system were updated. But in the case of oriental medicine, various classification systems of headache are presented in numerous literatures. But the effort to unify and systemize the oriental medicine headache classification has been in lack. Conclusions : Establishment and utilization of a standardized oriental medicine headache classification system, based on various classifications and detailed descriptions is needed.

        유료형 축제 참가자의 대기환경과 행동분석: 보령머드축제를 중심으로

        This research aims to analyze the relationship between waiting environment and perceived waiting time, emotional reaction, and festival satisfaction based on the experience of the visitors of the Mud Zone, which is a part of the Boryeong Mud Festival, and charges an admission fee. As for the results, first, it was found that among the two factors of the waiting environment, physical environment and human environment, the first did not affect perceived waiting time, while the second had a positive effect on it. Second, it was discovered that perceived waiting time had a positive effect on both positive and negative emotional reaction. Third, findings show that perceived waiting time does not have a positive effect on festival satisfaction. Fourth, as for the relationship of emotional reaction and festival satisfaction, it can be stated that while positive emotional reaction affects festival satisfaction in a positive way, negative emotional reaction does not. Therefore, when festival authorities face a situation of festival-goers having to wait, it is more important to improve the strategies connected to human environment and providing related information than improving the physical environment. The theoretical implication of this research is the contribution to the diversification of research related to festivals that charge an admission fee. Moreover, the practical implication is helping festival authorities in making better strategies for festivals with admission fees.

        3D 프린팅 기술을 이용한 누에 알 미세주입 기술 개선

        Silkworms, which have for long been used as an insect resource for industrialization, have recently attracted attention as potential bio-factories for the production of novel biomaterials. In this regard, material production is typically achieved based on transformation technology, mediated via microinjection, in which a target gene is inserted into eggs containing an embryo. However, an essential step in the microinjection procedure is egg fixation, which can be a time-consuming and laborious task. Therefore, in this study, using the 3DCADian program, we adopted a 3D printing approach to model egg liners and glue drawers, which can contribute to facilitating egg alignment and fixation, thereby enhancing transformation efficiency by reducing time consumption and fatigue. After rendering using Fusion 360, the two supplementary tools were produced by printing with nylon resin (PA12) and Sinterit Lisa Pro. Subsequent analysis of the time required to fix eggs on glass slides using the two manufactured tools, revealed that the processing time was reduced by approximately 18.6% when the two tools were used compared with when these tools were not used. These innovations not only reduced fatigue but also contributed to more effective use of the microscope and manipulator for microinjection. Consequently, we believe that with additional research and refinement, the egg liner and glue drawer developed in this study could be used to enhance silkworm transformation efficiency and study similar transformation systems in other industrial insects. 오래전부터 산업곤충으로서 이용되어온 누에는 최근 바이오 신소재 생산을 위한 생체공장으로써 주목받고 있다. 소재생산을 위해서는 주로 형질전환 기술을 이용하게 되며, 이는 배아가 있는 알 속으로 목적 유전자를 삽입하는 마이크로인젝션(microinjection) 방식으로 이루어진다. 마이크로인젝션을 위해서는 알을 고정하는 과정이 필수적이며 시간 소모 및 피로도가 높은 작업이다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 시간 소모 및 피로도 개선을 통하여 형질전환 효율을 높이고자 3D 프린팅을 이용하여 알의 정렬 및 고정에 도움을 줄 수 있는 알 배열판(egg liner) 및 접착제 줄눈판 (glue drawer)을 3DCADian 프로그램을 이용하여 모델링하고, Fusion 360를 이용하여 3차원 도면을 제작 후 프린팅하여 제작하였다. 제작된두 도구를 이용하여 슬라이드 글라스에 알을 고정하고, 소요된 시간을 분석한 결과 도구를 사용하지 않았을 때에 비하여 2가지 도구를 이용했을때 작업시간이 약18.6% 감소하였으며, 연구자의 작업 편의성을 향상시키고 마이크로인젝션을 위한 현미경 및 로봇 팔(manipulator) 조작을 유리하게 하였다. 따라서 알의 배열 수 또는 조작 편의성을 개선할 수 있는 추가적인 연구 및 개량이 이루어진다면, 알 배열판 및 접착제 줄눈판이 누에 형질전환 효율성 개선 및 다른 산업 곤충의 형질전환 연구에도 이용될 수 있을 것으로 판단된다.

        침 임상시험 논문에 적용한 Sham Acupuncture에 대한 고찰

        Objectives : Though there were many clinical studies of acupuncture effects they didn’t have appropriate control group or use another therapy for control group. So, we didn’t say it was true acupuncture effect, though subjects in clinical study improved. Recently several sham needles for control group were developed and validated. This study aimed at summarizing the validation studies of these needles and evaluating the control group of the acupuncture clinical study. Methods : Computerized literature searches were performed using ‘acupuncture’ and ‘placebo or sham’ with a limitation of the results to RCTs in Pubmed, Sciencedirect, NDSL, KISS, RISS. Data were extracted regarding study design, sample size, acupuncture point, stimulation form, credibility testing. And We have examined 106 acupuncture clinical studies published by Pubmed from January 1, 2005 to April 30, 2008. Data were extracted author’s country, subject of study, type of study groups, type of control groups, type of blinding, difference between the results in the control groups. Results : Streitberger’s placebo needle, Fink’s sham needle, Park sham needle, Kim sham needle were developed. They were validated at domestic and abroad. But the results were deviation depending on the each of the researcher. They has shown that sample, acupuncture points, experiences or knowledge of acupuncture dependent on the results. Recent three years, acupuncture clinical trial had different results. Significant differences between Study group and control group emerged from using other therapy or non-treatment for control group. Many study has no significant differences using sham acupuncture for control groups. Conclusions : Acupuncture clinical studies need to meet several requirements. First of all, they require the basics of randomized controlled clinical studies such as blinding and the accurate implementation and description of randomization. And also need to research the unique circumstances of these studies such as the development of sham acupuncture and blinding method which differs from other clinical trials.

        알루미늄 5052 및 6061 합금의 양극산화 표면처리를 통한 발수 특성 및 부식 특성 비교

        Aluminum alloy is used by adding various elements according to the needs of the industry. Aluminum alloys such as 5052 and 6061 are known to possess excellent corrosion resistance by adding Mg. Despite their excellent physical properties, corrosion can occur. To solve this problem, an anodization technique generally can improve corrosion resistance by forming an oxide structure with maximized hydrophobic properties through coatings. In this study, the anodizing technique was used to improve the hydrophobicity of aluminum 5052 and 6061 by creating porous nanostructures on top of the surface. An oxide film was formed by applying anodizing voltages of 20, 40, 60, 80, and 100 V to aluminum alloys followed by immersion in 0.1 M phosphoric acid for 30 minutes to expand oxide pores. Contact angle and corrosion characteristics were different according to the structure after anodization. For the 5052 aluminum, the corrosion potential was improved from -363 mV to -154 mV as the contact angle increased from 116° to 136°. For the 6061 aluminum, the corrosion potential improved from -399 mV to -124 mV when the contact angle increased from 116° to 134°.

        Fabrication of Superhydrophobic Aluminum Alloy Surface with Hierarchical Pore Nanostructure for Anti-Corrosion

        Aluminum and its alloys have been widely used in various fields because of low weight, high strength, good conductivity, and low price. It is well known that aluminum alloys that cause natural oxide film can inhibit corrosion in wet, salty environments. However, these oxides are so thin that corrosion occurs in a variety of environments. To prevent this problem, an electrochemical anodizing technique was applied to the aluminum alloy surface to form a thick layer of oxide and a unique oxide shape, such as a hierarchical pore structure simultaneously combining large and small pores. The shape of the structures was implemented using stepwise anodization voltages such as 40 V for mild anodizing and 80 V for hard anodizing, respectively. To maximize water repellency, it is crucial to the role of surface structures shape. And a hydrophobic thin film was coated by 1H, 1H, 2H, 2H-Perfluorodecyltrichlorosilane (FDTS) to minimize surface energy of the structure surface. Thus, such nanoengineered superhydrophobic surface exhibited a high water contact angle and excellent corrosion resistance such as low corrosion current density and inhibition efficiency.
