        Kuroshio 國際合同調査 第3次年度인 1967年에 東海의 代表月인 3月과 8月, 2次에 걸쳐 東海上 北緯 36°04′6″∼37°53′7″와 東經 128°52′5″∼132°29′5″의 海域에서 34 測點에 對하여 實施한 觀測資料를 土臺로 하여 水溫躍層의 分布狀況을 알아보고 이를 根據로 湧昇流의 存在與否를 究明해 본 것이다.

        In order to understand the circulation dynamics of the Keum River estuary, an extensive study was conducted; (i) variability of salinity boundary layer (ii) fluid dynamic characteristics (iii) tides and tidal currents (iv) circulation, diffusion, and dispersion (v) numerical modelling. As first part of this series of work, the salinity data obtained at six sites by using instantaneous profil]ing technique were analyzed in detail. it is found that the amplitude of salinity variation increases toward the upstream direction and its magnitude is greater at neap tide than spring tide. And also duration of salinity boundary layer is much longer during the neap tide than the spring tide, As a result of this study, the Keum River estuary is classified as a typical standing wave type estuary. Finally, we present a schematic diagram for the duration of the salinity boundary layer, which will be useful for further study on flocculation phenomena and sedimentation dynamics.

      • 海洋 亂流境界層內 斷續性의 流體力學的 意義

        The Intermittent phenomena of the turbulent momentrm transports were closely examined in order to know the nature of intermittency and its fluid dynamic implications in the oceanic turbulent boundary layer. Also the connection between the observed intermittency and the bursting phenomenon was studied in detail. In this investigation, strong intermittency of turbulent momentum transports were found and the peak values of Reynolds stress (i,e., u'w') was about 408 times greater than average Reynolds stress (u',w') in the mid-layer and 270 times greater in the uppcrlayer of the turbulent boundary layer. These values are far greater than presently known maximum value, namely 30 times greater than the average Reynolds stress reported by Gordon (1974) and Heathersaw (1974). The distribution of Reynolds stress were extremely non-normal with the mean peak occurrence period of 5 minutes in the mid-layer and 1. 1 minutes in the upper layer of the turbulent boundary layer. Each teak lasted about 2 seconds in the mid-layer and 1.1 seconds in the upper layer of the turbulent boundary layer. Our dimensionless period of peak occurrence are found to be 33.3 in the mid-layer and 7.3 in the upper-layer, which are substantially larger than the often quoted values of 3.2-6.8 for the bursting period (Jackson, 1976). Some workers have interpreted that the intermittency phenomenon is the retlect of burst across their probe of the currentmeter (Gordon, 1974; Heathersaw, 1974). However, it was known that the burst can be found very near bottom boundary with smoothed bottom (i,e., friction Reynolds number$\leq$3,000) in the laboratory experiments. Through this investigation, it was found that the intermittent strength of the turbulent momentum transports does not conclusively indicate the characteristic feature of the boundary layer turbulence with a rough bottom (i,e., friction Reynolds number$\geq$10$\^$5/).

      • 仁川外港의 潮流特性에 對하여

        정부의 인천항 개발계획에 따라 이미 월미도와 인천항 사이는 매립되었고 월미도에는 갑거축조공사가 진행되고 있으며 외항간척공사도 병행되고 있다. 갑거가 완성되면 선박은 외항에서 갑거를 통해 내항으로 진입하게 된다. 이때 출입선박은 외항의 조류의 세기에 따라 그 진로가 결정된다. 또한 외항간척공사가 계속되면 외항에 유입되는 해수의 용적량은 물론 이에 따른 유속도 변하게 된다. 따라서 외항간척공사는 외항의 안정성을 유지할 수 있는 범위내에서 이루어져야 한다. 본 연구는 과학기술처 -USAID의 Trust Fund 연구자금에 의해 대행된 인천항의 안전성에 대한 연구의 제1단게의 일환으로 이루어졌다. 본 연구에서는 최초로 인천항의 조류특성을 밝혀 대조류의 유속으로 임의일임의지의 조류의 속도를 쉽게 환산하여 출입선박의 안전을 도모함은 물론 본 연구의 제2단계인 외항간척공사의 범위를 결정해 줄 동항의 안정성연구에 기초자료를 마련함에 그 목적이 있다.

        연맥 사일리지에서 분리된 Lactobacillus plantarum의 균특성에 관한 연구

        The growth characteristics and the cellular protein patterns of the Lactobacillus plantarum isolated and identified from oat silage were examined in order to confirm whether it will be used practically as probiotics or not. L plantarum was identified by morphological and biochemical tests including of final conforming by API 50CHL kit. The cultivation in MRS broth of the strain under the condition of different temperature, proved that they grew into $2.0{\times}10^{9}$ in $25^{\circ}C$, into $1.4{\times}10^{9}$ in $35^{\circ}C$ but they decreased into $4.5{\times}10^{5}$ growth in $45^{\circ}C$. The comparison of the growth by measurement of O.D600nm value after 24 hour cultivation between L plantarum and commercial probiotics, showed that the strain had a higher growth than commercial as 1.841 : 1.623. The measurement of it under bile acid's existence, indicated that this isolation was not influenced by bile acid and the tolerance was $3.2{\times}10^{9}$, $3.9{\times}10^{9}$ and $3.2{\times}10^{9}$, respectively, when each of 0%, 1%, and 2% oxigall existed. The examination of their antibiotics susceptibility by disk diffusion test, proved that L plantarum showed resistance against danofloxacin(5mcg), gentamycin(10mcg), kanamycin(30mcg), neomycin(30mcg) and streptomycin(10mcg). Based upon the test of the bacteriocin formation of this L plantarum, it was found out that the inhibition zone was not formed. In growth of L plantarum and E coli in nutrient broth, all E coli died out within 6 hours after cultures.

      • 錦江 河口의 海水循環力學 弟2報 流體力學的 諸特性

        In order to investigate the circulation dynamics of the Keum River estuary, 300velocity fields obtained at six sites over two tidal cycles by using instantaneous profiling technique were analyzed in detail. In this investigation, the variability of shear velocity, bottom shear stress, drag coefficient, and roughness length scale were confirmed. The measured values of the bottom boundary drag coefficient show wide range of variations, i.e., C$\_$100/=6.78${\times}$10$\^$-5/∼1.15${\times}$10$\^$-1/, and the mean of 300 measurements is 1.6${\times}$10$\^$-2/. The relationship between U* and C$\_$100/ also show the scatter in values. However, overall mean values over two tidal cycles at 6 stations show that if U* 1cm/s, C$\_$100/ is unpredictable, if U* 1cm/s, C$\_$100/ increase with U*. The values of Re$\_$100/ and C$\_$100/ have scatter. But the overall mean values over two tidal cycles show that if Re$\_$100/ 3.6${\times}$10$\^$5/, C$\_$100/ is unpredictable, if Re$\_$100/ 3.6${\times}$10$\^$5/, C$\_$100/=1.4${\times}$10$\^$-2/. Finally the flow regime of the Keum River estuary was classified as "subcritical fully turbulent" flow.

      • The Thermocline Structure on the Near Seas of the Korea

        The thermocline of the sea water is the most important factor to determine the stabilization of the water mass and ascending motions which was known as an upwelling. The investigation of the characteristics of thermocline structure was attempted to determine the stabilization and existence of the upwelling, which was increasingly interest to find out more food from the sea. The characteristics of the stability of the near seas were studied, 4 upwelling regions were found out and the seasonal variation was discussed by using the data of the international cooperative survey of kuroshio.
