Global interest in methane rocket engines has been growing due to its eco-friendliness, reusability, and its potential for In-Situ Resource Utilization (ISRU). Recent enhancement of numerical analysis tools enable to provide resonable results for understanding the methane-air combustion in trans/supercritical condition. In addition, they can contribute to suggest the characteristic variables and design parameters for designing and manufacturing the new methane thruster. Recently started development program, SPRC, contains a subdivision for developing a high performance methane thruster. In this paper, systematic numerical strategy and some numerical result are presented.

Seoul National University is developing an On-Board Computer (OBC) based on ARM Cortex M4 processors from STMicroelectronics. The microcontroller (MCU) has the capacity to run at 180㎒ maximum frequency, has a Floating Point Unit (FPU) and has a performance of 225DMIPS. The nominal power consumption while all peripherals are activated is 323.4㎽ and can has low power modes to conserve power. The processor is supported by a flight tested STM32F405RG processor as a node for in-orbit firmware update and fault detection. The OBC also features as the Attitude Determination and Control System (ADCS), and has an 8MB SDRAM for dynamic data while supporting 8MB of flash memory and backup of 4GB memory through microSD card. The ADCS can drive up to 4 magnetorquers (MTQs). The OBC has a flexible design and the same design has been applied for imaging payload.
Characteristics of the Combustor Flow with Different Configuration

Experimental and numerical studies were carried out for cold flow and reactive flow of a small gas turbine engine combustor at a nominal operation of cruising altitude and velocity. Combustor flow and combustion phenomenon with various operating conditions due to flight mode of Unmanned Aerial Vehicle of canard rotor/wing concept was analyzed. Combustor of Mircoturbo TRI-60 engine was redesigned for wind tunnel experiment, and visualization of combustor cold flow about different primary holes and influence of swirler was performed by using schlieren technique. Numerical studies were carried out for cold flow and reactive flow of annular combustor. Without swirler, fuel spray was developed to the upstream direction due to reverse flow at primary zone. Swirler induced the distribution of fuel spray more stable and uniform. Fuel mixing characteristics was highly affected with the arrangement of primary and secondary holes.

This short report describes the trend of exhaust emission control of the diesel engine vehicles in Korea, which originally was motivated from the newly proposed Emission Control Regulation of Diesel Engine Vehicles possibly to be activated in 1991 by Korean Environmental Protection Agency.<br/> This short survey report has been prepared by the special working group of The Korea Society of Automotive Engineers (KSAE) on this particular subject. This report includes (1) estimation of portions of contribution of diesel engine vehicle emission to total air pollution, (2) comparison of proposals of new articles/regulations/laws in Korea with those of other selected countries such as USA, European countries, and Japan, (3) comparison of vehical emission control regulations in Korea with those in other selected countries, (4) technical aspects of possibilities of reduction of diesel engine vehicle emissions, (5) additional administrational aspects of technology development program, (6) social impact resulted from the severe emission control regulation on diesel engine vehicles, and (7) proposals, prepared by the special working group of the KSAE, on the emission control regulation of diesel engine vehicles, which can possibly bring better cleaner air released from the air pollution resulted from diesel engine exhaust emissions in real sense with minimal financial contribution, with optimal technological efforts, with less social impacts, within five to ten year period.
