To reduce the greenhouse gas emissions, CCS and CCU technologies are getting attention. CCS technology is a technique to capture and store carbon dioxide, which isolates a large amount of greenhouse gases from the source side such as a power plant. The CCS technology has a disadvantage in that a large amount of energy is required during the storage process. On the other hand, the CCU technology can be regarded as an environmental friendly technology that can convert carbon dioxide into high value products by converting the greenhouse gases into high value materials or environmentally friendly fuels. However, there is only a few quantitative assessments of CO₂ reduction potential for the CCU technology. Therefore, in this study, life cycle assessment (LCA) is conducted focusing on the photocatalytic technology among chemical CO₂ conversion technologies, which are estimated to have a higher potential to reduce GHG emission. The results shows that the photocatalytic conversion technology reduces CO₂ emission significantly during the conversion processes.

The Cooperative Engagement Capability (CEC) System produces a synergy between the sensors and shooters that are used on various platforms by integrating them. Even the US Navy has been recently adopting the CEC system that maximizes the effectiveness of the air defense operations by efficiently coordinating the dispersed air defense assets. The Navy of other countries are conducting research studies on the theory and application methods for the CEC system. The ROK Navy has limited air defense capabilities due to its independent weapons systems on battle ships. Therefore, the ROK Navy is currently going through a phase where research on proving the validity of building the CEC system because it will provide a way to overcome the limit of the platform based air defense capability. In this study, our goal is to propose methods that maximize the air defense capability of ROK Navy, identify the available assets for constructing the CEC system, and estimate effects of the CEC system when it is applied to the naval operations. In addition, we will provide a simple model that was developed to estimate these effects and a case study with virtual data to demonstrate the effects of the system when it is applied to the naval operations. The research result of this study will provide a way for building the basis of the Korean CEC system.

The purpose of this paper IS to examine the differences of cognition between self-management and corporation in report and payment of Value Added Tax. And then We want to suggest the policy of improvements to reduce the resistance of tax-payer in V.A.T. Data was collected for 250 firms' samples from the self-employed and corporation in Daegu Seongseo Industry District. The main results of empirical study are as follows. First, Value Added Tax is not fair in all companies. But It couldn't find the differences between self-employed a d corporation in statistical meaning. Second, It was found the cooperatives generally think to pay the taxes in rule, but self-employed not do it in the report and payment of Value Added Tax. But we couldn't find the important differences between self-employed and corporation in statistical meaning. We propose to improve the polices of introduction of tax rates of multiples in the charging and to redesign the definition of a tax-payer of value added tax to reduce the resistance in report and payment.

To study the mechanism of syncytium formation, novel syncytia-inducing ecotropic murine retrovirus was used. Our previous result showed that amino acid substitutions at the RBD (receptor binding domain) of envelope glycoprotein contribute to syncytium formation. In this study, we have investigated if this fusion phenomenon could occur with retroviral vectors pseudotyped with the novel syncytia-inducing ecotropic murine leukemia virus Env. We have found that these vectors were not able to mediate virus-to-cell fusion in M. dunni murine cell lines. These findings indicate that syncytia-inducing ecotropic murine leukemia virus is capable of generating syncytia during its replication. There was also no correlation between the level of ecotropic murine leukemia virus receptor (mCAT-1) and the fusogenic effect. 레트로바이러스의 합포체(syncytia)형성 기작 연구를 위해 합포체 형성을 유도하는 새로운 ecotropic 마우스레트로바이러스(Friend murine leukemia virus)변이주를 실험에 사용하였다. 마우스레트로바이러스의 외막에 존재하는 당단백질 중 수용체와 결합하는 부위의 아미노산을 변화시키면 합포체를 형성할 수 있음이 이미 밝혀졌다. 본 연구에서는 합포체 유도 마우스레트로바이러스 외막 당단백질을 가진 pseudotype 레트로바이러스 벡터로 부터도 이러한 융합 현상이 일어날 수 있는지 알아보았다. 마우스 세포주인 M. dunni에 pseudotype 바이러스를 감염시킨 결과 레트로바이러스 벡터 매개에 의한 바이러스-세포간 융합 현상은 일어나지 않았다. 이러한 실험결과는 합퐁체 형성이 바이러스 복제가 가능한 합포체 유도 마우스레트로바이러스에만 일어남을 나타낸다. 또한 ecotropic 마우스레트로바이러스 수용체의 농도와 막 융합과의 상관관계도 없는 것으로 밝혀졌다.

Sorption heat pump system using R1234ze(E)/ionic fluid is developed for cooling and heating application in Proton-Exchange Membrane Fuel Cells(PEMFC) vehicles. Waste heat from the PEMFC is utilized as the heat source of the sorption heat pump system. A low global warming potential (GWP) refrigerant of (R1234ze(E)) and an ionic fluid of [HMIM][Tf2N] are used as refrigerant and absorbent, respectively. Additionally, the heat pump system is assisted by a compressor placed between evaporator and absorber. Cooling and heating performance and required work of the sorption heat pump are evaluated under various overall conductances (UA) of evaporator and condenser. The results show that as the UA increases, both of the required work and COP of the sorption heat pump system increases. It is found that the maximum cooling COP was estimated 0.798 with the least required work of 0.3644kW and the heating COP was estimated 1.549 with the least required work of 0.8194kW.
태안 석탄화력발전소의 대기오염저감과 CO₂ 포집에 대한 전과정평가 연구

Although fossil fuel power generation is a reliable power source, it is responsible for serious air pollutions from the combustion process. With CO₂ emission recognized as air pollutant, CO₂ capture technology emerged as a solution to fossil power plants. The post-treatment process requires additional process to power generation. In similarity, the air pollution controls should be considered before the CO₂ capture. In this research, Taean coal power plant is selected for life cycle assessment upon fitting CO₂ capture unit in resemblance to the flue gas treatments. By comparing the results, environmental impacts by two transitions; air pollution control, and CO₂ capture, are analyzed. In conclusion, comparison results indicated a significant decrease of global warming potential, but aggravating environmental impacts, therefore careful consideration is recommended upon deployment.
