20세기 들어서 네일아트는 조형예술의 한 부분으로써 또 다른 예술 분야로 각 광 받고 있으며, 네일 산업이 세계의 주요 산업의 하나로 발돋움 하면서한 차원 높은 입체적 표현을 요구하는 조형예술로 표현되고 있다. 한국 이미지에 맞는 전통 문화 예술의 특징과 그에 따른 서정적인 몸동작을 재현한 입체아트이며 한국을 대표할 수 있는 단청, 한복, 공연 등에서 나타난 이미지 그대로를 3D 네일 아트로 조형물을 만들어 본인 작품 중심으로 살펴보았다. 본 연구를 통하여 다양한 시각에서 한국전통 문화를 바라보는 계기가 되기를 바라며 전통성과 창의성, 예술성 등을 활용하여 미적 감각과 다양한 형태의 3D 네일 아트가 대중화되기를 기대하며 전통 이미지를 활용한 시각적인 아름다움을 표현하는 새로운 표현 발상의 방향성을 제시하고자 한다. 연구방법으로는 문헌고찰과 실증적 고찰을 병행하였으며, 한국이미지를 재현하여 본인이 제작한 3D 네일 아트 5작품을 제작하였다. 첫째, 네일에 단순, 간결, 화려함을 오방색채를 중심으로 표현하여 한국의 특징적인 색채를 다양하게 표현하였다. 둘째, 자유로움과 순결, 강인함 등을 표현하기 위해 곡선, 직선을 표현하고 자연소재인 한글이 표현된 한지를 사용했으며, 한국인에게 깃든 정서적인 생각과 자유스러움의 상징성을 표현하고 매화, 국화꽃을 표현하여 청초한 아름다움과 지조, 여성스러운 아름다움을 표현하였다. 셋째, 사람의 모형을 입체적으로 만들어 예술 문화에 맞게 입체적으로 제작하여 상징적인 색채를 입히고 자유로움, 정신적 해방등을 표현하였고 전통적인 우리의 정신을 상징적인 몸동작으로 표현하였다. 전통을 현대화 시켜 재구성하여 입체적으로 표현함으로써 예술적 가치와 전통의 미적 가치를 높이고 한국의 이미지를 대중화하여 활성화 시킬 수 있는 계기가 되기를 바라며, 이러한 의미에서 3D 네일 아트 디자인에 한국전통 이미지를 활용한 네일 아트 디자인형태를 도출하여 입체적으로 모형을 만들어 표현하였다. Upon entering the 20th Century, nail art has earned great popularity as part of formative arts. As nail industry has developed into a major industrial sector, nail art has been expressed as a type of formative arts. In fact, nail art is a 3D art that realizes the characteristics of Korean traditional art and culture and related lyric body gestures. This study has investigated 3D nail arts in Dancheong (Korean-style decorative colorful patterns on wooden buildings and other wooden items), Hanbok (Korean traditional costume) and Korean traditional performances, focusing on the author’s designs. This study aims to view Korean tradition and culture from diverse perspectives and popularize 3D nail arts using tradition, creativity and artistic aspects and attempts to propose a direction for new aesthetic expressions. In terms of research methods, literature review and empirical survey were conducted. Based on the images of Korean tradition, a total of five 3D nail-art designs have been created. First, simple and brilliant patterns were expressed using various Korean traditional colors. Second, both lines and curves were used to express liberty, purity and tenacity. In addition, Korean language-patterned Hanji (Korean traditional paper) were used. Korean emotion and liberty were symbolized. Furthermore, chrysanthemum and Ume flowers were designed to represent purity, feminine beauty and integrity. Third, a human model has been designed in 3D and decorated with symbolic colors to express liberty and mental relief. In particular, Korean traditional spirit has been expressed with symbolic gestures. This study has modernized and reorganized Korean tradition in 3D to improve artistic and aesthetic value to popularize and promote the images of Korean tradition. In this sense, Korean traditional patterns have been expressed in 3D nail art design.
