Parallelism for Nested Loops with Simple Subscripts

In this paper, we propose improved loop splitting method for maximizing parallelism of single loops with non-constant dependence distances. By using the iteration and distance for the source of the first dependence, and by our defined theorems, we present generalized and optimal algorithms for single loops with non-uniform dependences (MPSL). By the extension of the MPSL method, we also apply to exploit parallelism from nested loops with simple subscripts, based on cycle shrinking and loop interchanging method. The algorithms generalize how to transform general single loops with non-uniform dependences as well as nested loops with simple subscripts into parallel loops.

Extended Three Region Partitioning Method of Loops with Irregular Dependences

This paper proposes an efficient method such as Extended Three Region Partitioning Method for nested loops with irregular dependences for maximizing parallelism. Our approach is based on the Convex Hull theory, and also based on minimum dependence distance tiling, the unique set oriented partitioning, and three region partitioning methods. In the proposed method, we eliminate anti dependences from the nested loop by variable renaming. After variable renaming, we present algorithm to select one or more appropriate lines among given four lines such as LMLH, RMLH, LMLT and RMLT. If only one line is selected, the method divides the iteration space into two parallel regions by the selected line. Otherwise, we present another algorithm to find a serial region. The selected lines divide the iteration space into two parallel regions as large as possible and one or less serial region as small as possible. Our proposed method gives much better speedup and extracts more parallelism than other existing three region partitioning methods.

본 논문은 비균일 단일루프의 병렬성을 향상시키기 위해서 지금까지 개발된 최소 종속 거리 분할 방법, Polychronopoulous 분할 방법, 그리고 최초 종속 분할 방법과 같은 세 가지 루프 분할 방법을 소개하며, 기존의 분할 방법의 문제점들을 제시한다. 그리고, 기존의 세 가지 루프 분할 방법 중에서 가장 효과적인 최초 종속 분할 방법을 확장하여 병렬성을 향상시킨 보다 강력한 루프 분할 방법을 제안한다. 제안된 알고리즘은 역 종속성일 경우와 gcd(최대공약수)값이 1보다 클 경우와 같이 최초 종속 분할 방법에서 해결하지 못한 문제점들을 해결하였다. This paper introduces three loop splitting methods such as minimum dependence distance method, Polychronopoulous' method, and first dependence method for exploiting parallelism from single loop which already developed. And it also indicates their several problems. We extend the first dependence method which is the most effective one among three loop splitting methods, and propose more powerful loop splitting method to enhance parallelism on single loop. The proposed algorithm solves several problems, such as anti-flow dependence and g=gcd(a,c) > 1, that the first dependence method has.

국민 소득향상과 더불어 소비추세가 늘어나고 있는 수박은 소비자 기호도 충족과 소비패턴에 다양하게 발맞추어 노지 재배에서 비가림 재배와 하우스재배로 점차 확대되고 있으며 작형도 터널 조숙 재배, 대형하우스재배, 소형하우스 및 터널 재배, 노지 재배, 비가림 재배, 억제재배 등과 같이 다양하게 변화되고 있으며 이에 따른 연작장애 요인이 되는 선충의 피해도 날로 증가되고 있는 추세이다. 선충의 밀도를 줄이고, 피해를 경감시키기 위한 방법은 본론에서 서술한 바와 같으나 정리한다면 첫째, 선충이 일단 밭에 감염되면 감기바이러스와 같이 완치약이 없으므로 밭에 들어오지 않게 주의하여야 하며 일단 감염되면 한번에 전멸시키려고 하지 말아야 한다. 둘째, 세 동의 하우스 중 한 동을 벼와 윤작하고 매년 윤작하우스를 바꾼다. 셋째, 정식 2∼4개월 전에 미숙 퇴비를 토양유용미생물들이 많이 생기도록 한다. 넷째, 럭비나, 선충탄 같은 적절한 노약처리. 다섯째 흙 말리기, 객토, 깊이갈이를 병행하고 시설재배에서는 여름철 고온기에 작물재배가 곤란할 때 태양 열소독을 하면 방제효과를 높일 수 있다.

본 연구는 16 비트 CPU를 위한 새로운 C 컴파일러를 개발하고자 한다. 새로운 ASIC 프로세서가 특정 용도로 설계되었을 때 그 CPU를 위한 새로운 컴파일러의 개발이 필요하다. 공개 소프트웨어인 GNU C 컴파일러를 사용하여 기계 의존 원시 파일들을 수정함으로서새로운 컴파일러를 개발할 수 있다. 개발된 컴파일러는 단지 기계어에 의해 처리될 수 있는기능들만 지원할 수 있기 때문에 곱셈, 나눗셈, 부동소수점 처리등과 같은 기능들을 지원하기 위해서는 더 많은 연구가 필요하다. 완전한 컴파일러가 개발된 후에는 새로운 CPU에서 실행될 수 있는 응용 프로그램의 개발이 필요하다. 본 연구에 의해서 앞으로 개발될 여러 가지 다른 용도의 CPU를 위한 컴파일러들이 쉽게 개발될 수 있을 것이다.

Parallelism for Single Loops with Non-uniform Dependences

본 논문은 비균일 단일루프의 병렬성을 향상시키기 위해서 지금까지 개발된 Threshold 분할 방법, Polychronopoulous 분할 방법과 같은 루프 분할 방법을 소개한다. 그리고, 비균일 단일 루프에서의 병렬화를 최대화 할 수 있는 향상된 루프 분할 방법을 제시한다. 최초로 존재하는 종속성과 본 논문에서 제안한 정의들을 이용하여 비균일 단일 루프를 위한 일반적이면서 최적의 알고리즘들을 제안한다. 제안한 알고리즘들은 일반적인 단일 루프를 병렬화된 루프로 변환하는 방법을 적용한다. This paper reviews some loop partitioning techniques such as loop splitting method by thresholds and Polychronopoulos' loop splitting method for exploiting parallelism from single loop which already developed. We propose improved loop splitting method for maximizing parallelism of single loops with nonconstant dependence distances. By using the distance for the source of the first dependence, and by our defined theorems, we present generalized and optimal algorithms for single loops with non-uniform dependences. The algorithms generalize how to transform general single loops into parallel loops.
