In this study, we propose a frequency domain spectral element method (SEM) for the vibration analysis of a multi-span beam subjected to a moving point force. This study is an extension of the authors’ previous study for a single-span beam subjected to a moving point force, where the two-element model-based SEM was applied. In this study, each span of a multi-span beam is represented by the Timoshenko beam model and the moving point force is transformed into the frequency domain as a series of each stationary point force distributed on the multi-span beam. The span at which a stationary point force is located is represented by two-element model, but all other spans are represented by one-element models. The vibration responses to a moving point force are obtained by superposing all individual vibration responses generated by each stationary point force. The high accuracy and computational efficiency of the proposed SEM are verified by comparing the solutions by SEM with exact analytical solutions by the integral transform method (ITM) as well as the solutions by the finite element method (FEM).
한국산 식물 종자유의 성분에 관한 연구(I) -하놀타리중의 스테롤

"Ha-Neul-Ta-Ri" (Trichosanthes kirilowii Max., Cucurbitaceae) cultivated in Korea and used in popular medicine, was investigated for sterol composition of the seed oil. This seed oil contains unusual sterols having ${\delta}^{7, 22}_-$, ${\delta}^{7, 24}_-$ and ${\delta}^{7, 22, 25}_-$ di and trienols. ${\delta}^{7, 22}_-$ Stigmastadienol and ${\delta}^{7, 22, 25}_-$ Stigmastatrienol were identified as the major sterols in the seed oil of Trichosanthes kirilowii by gas loiquid chromatographic analysis. The results showed that contents of the seed sterols were campesterol 1.0-1.2%, stigmasterol 1.5-1.7%, ${\delta}^{7}_-$ campstenol 0.6-0.8%, sitosterol 10.6-11.4%, ${\delta}^{7, 22}_-$ stigmastadienol 39.1-41.8%, ${\delta}^{7, 22, 25}_-$ stigmastatrienol 28.9-29.3%, ${\delta}^{7, 25}_-$ stigmastadienol 14.9-15.5% and ${\delta}^{7, 24}_-$ stigmastadienol 0.7-1.0%.

"Bija"(Torreya nut), a tree belonging to the Torreyaceae family, is cultivated in Jae Joo Do and Jun Ra Do, Korea. The seed of Torreya nucifera, which has been widely used as folkmedicine in the treatment of tapeworm infestation, was examined on the sterol composition determined by gas liquid chromatography and thin layer chromatography on the preparative plates. Sterols were obtained from the nonsaponifiable matters of ether extract of the seed. It was noted that .betha.-sitosterol was the major sterol in the nut. The results showed that contents of sterols were campesterol 3.15-3.75%, stigmasterol 5.38-5.67%, $\beta$-sitosterol 85.61-86.28% and ${\delta}^{7}$-sterol 4.91-5.19% by gas liquid chromatography.

Melamdyrum roseum Max, is an annual herb in Scrophulariaceae plants. The materials were collected in Kyeong-Ki-Do in 1880. The BuOH extract was evaporated under readuced pressure. The residue was column chromatographed over silica gel with Benzene-MeOH (8 : 1) as an eluent and it gave the amorphous powder. Compound I has a moecular formula C_(17)H_(26)O_(10) and it was identified as mussaenoside by chemical data, UV, IR, NMR spectra and compared with the authentic sample of Mussaenoside tetraacetate.

The structure of tuguaconitine, mp 196∼198℃, a new diterpene alkaloid isolated from the roots of Aconitum sibiricum P., was studied. Its empirical formula is C_(23)H_(35)NO<sub>7</sub> and spectroscopic evidence shows that the base contains three methoxyl, three hydroxyl and one N-ethyl groups. The acute toxicities of most of Aconitum species were strong and the acute toxicity of the alkaloid fraction of A. sibiricum was decreased by Glrcyrrhizae, black bean or Zingiberis extract.

A new iridoid glucoside was isolated from the roots of Phlomis umbrosa Turz. (Sok-dan; Labiatae). This compound was obtained as needle form crystal arid named as Umbroside. It has a molecular formula C_(19)H_(28)O_(13). The structure of the Umbroside was assumed from the data of chemical shifts of PMR spectra. By enzyme hydrolysis, It produces a stable aglucone and glucose.
한국산 인삼의 성분에 관한 연구(Ⅰ) : 인삼 Sterol의 구성 성분에 대하여

Sterols were obtained from the non-saponifiable matters of ethereal and methanolic extracts of the root of Panax ginseng. The composition of sterols has been determined by gas chromatographic analysis. It was noted that campesterol, stigmastrol and β-sitosterol were the major sterols in the ginseng. The results showed that contents of sterols were campesterol, 4.01∼5.82%, stigmasterol, 18.32∼19.12% and β-sitosterol, 75.11∼77.74%.
