Today as we know America has been in the important position of the universal leadership polically, economically and culturly and fact that most people of the world are eager to recognize her real value is true. Furthermore, the world is divided into two camps of the democratic and communist countries and many countries which stand for democratism are to be united together including America, it is ture that American English, owing to the world-wide leadership is fixed as a strong position rapidly. American English, however, is nothing but a sort of British English and there were not any special differences between the two languages. Moreover, American English what we call is a kind of mixed forms of various languages used by many peoples in Europe, who were the American pioneers; among them the British emigrants made a large group of them and thus British English became the main language of American English. Thus, in this thesis, I have consiered the common point and different one between American and British English and besides studied the effect which the main loan words had influenced on the word-making of American English.
A Study on the Differences between British and American English
鄭大洙 광주대학교 인문과학연구소 1998 인문과학 Vol.4 No.-
English is a language in world-wide use which therefore exists in great diversity. The variations within English can be grouped into two families of varieties, a British and an American family. These families differs in detail, but they also contain very many similarities. The past history of English on the two sides of the Atlantic begins with elizabethan English transported to the New World. Gradually distinctive American English grew up and became no longer a colonial variant but on equal partner with British English, and a powerful source of innovation and coinings. Compared with the small number of grammatical differences between American and British English, differences of pronunciation are many indeed, and compared with the somewhat random and individual nature of vacabulary differences, differences of pronunciation are rather systematic. From this point of view, it would be argued that the biggest differences between the two, in fact, lie in pronunciation. In conclusion, if English is a language for the whole world, if the world-wide language displays complex variations of pronunciation, grammar and vacabulary, if these variations are broadly similar in American and in British English, it in also true that there is no other different set of variations to be considered.
목초액의 엽면살포가 선학초(Agrimonia pilosa L.)의 종자수량에 미치는 영향

Agrimonia pilosa L. has been used as a medicinal plant in traditional folk remedy, and it shows inereasing tendency at various sections such as medicine-making material, functional food, and agricultural chemicals using plant or extract. The treatment was 400times solution(50㎖), 600times solution(33.3㎖), 800times solution(25㎖), 1,000times solution(20㎖) and 1,200times solution(16.7㎖) level with foliar application of wood extraction in Agrimonia pilosa L. The results obtained through these experiments were summarized as follows; plant height, stem number, leaves was increased with 800times solution(25㎖) foliar application of wood extraction. Among foliar application of wood vinergar soution diluted by 800-1,200 times was most effective considering growth and yield as compared other dilutions and control plot.

Aging is a senescence and defined as a normal physiologic and structural alterations in almost all organ systems with age. A wide variety of mechanisms have been invoked to explain the senescence and death of cells including loss of hormonal stimulation, accumulation of toxins, and/ or genetic errors, and internal cellular clocks that program death. Through comprehensive review of many theories, although a number of theories have been proposed, it is now clear that cell aging (cell senescence) is multifactorial. No single mechanism can account for the many varied manifestations of biological aging. In particular, it is important for the physician to be aware of the wide range of normal and abnormal aging in older patients, to understand what constitutes normal and abnormal aging, and to be aware of pathologic neurodegenerative disorders. In terms of this aspect, Age-related white matter changes (WMC) are difficult to diffemtiate that is attributed to normal and abnormal aging in older patients. Among WMC or white matter hyperintensity(WMH), Leukoaraiosis (LA: from the Greek leuko, white, and araiosis, rarefaction)which is designated bilateral and symmetrical areas in the periventricular and centrum semiovale white matter that appeared hypodense on cr scans and hyperintense on T2-weighted MRI, which might be thought to be a marker of vascular pathology, and have been associated with motor and cognitive deficits. Investigating the association between stroke subtype and leukoaraiosis with ischemic stroke by MR particularly in Korean patients, there is a significant association between leukoaraiosis and the stroke subtypes; the large-artery-disease group had a higher prevalence of leukoaraiosis than did the other group, and found that the most powerful predictor of progression of stroke was indeed baseline leukoaraiosis severity, that is to say, in case of locating in subcotical, convolutional white matter area, confluent than patch or punctate or scatter in case of the shape. Therefore, strategies for its prevention and management are urgently needed. However further studies are needed to determine which is the range of normal and abnormal aging in older patients.

It is reported as follows that atmosphere environment of the outskirts of Pusan was investigated both by artificial establishment soil and sampling treatment of rainfall and from data of investigation of Nak-dong river department of environmental management. 1. The acidity of each area and monthly rainfall are normally acidrain with acidity. 2. The acid rainfalls effects of soil treatment is, at early stage, of litter variation. 3. The air pollution of NO, of the central part of a Pusan is more intensive that of the outskirts of Pusan city.

The emergence of mass communication was seen as a development of human communication in the process of History until even a few years ago. But such a view is challenged, today, by the critical approach. In short, the critical viewpoint is based on the fact that the technological development of mass communication has not necessarily resulted in the free press. We can find many evidences in the communication history which prove this critical estimation right. If mass communication really develop, it must follow democratization of communication channel, and such a democratization must mean popular participation in the process of production as well as stpending of message. Thus we must focus on this aspect to study mass communication rationally.

"Sons and Lovers" by D.H.Lourence dealing with the naked sex affairs has been said to be a good or a bad work. Especially many people in England in 19th century who had strong authoritarianism and conventional thought shouted against this novel. And sometimes they wanted this one to be faded. But this work is remained famous as a great one. "What is that reason?"-is my purpose that I should investigate this novel. I studied the social background in 19th century and his home situation and the main reason that he had to write this work. His mother's thought of strict religious life and his father's way of life that as a miner tried to seek the naked and true nature. While he despised his father in his early age, he honored his mother who led her sound life, but later he felt mental anguish between them and at last he began to doubt his mother's form, and assumed a challenging attitude toward her and he inquirred into the human nature of truth. I would like to look over this thought that true happiness is emerged from the sound combination of soul and flesh, and I want to recognize that when parents love their children too much, what the result of it is.
