Objectives: In this study, the relationship between psychologic factors (depression and stress) and health behaviors, metabolic syndrome were evaluated. Methods: The study population was 1,559 women, aged over 40 years, April to December in 2009. We used modified National Cholesterol Education Program Adult Treatment Panel-III (modified NCEP ATP-lll) criteria for metabolic syndrome, Center for Epidemiologic Studies-Depression scale (CES-D) for depression and Psychosocial Wellbeing Index-Short Form (PWI-SF) for stress. Analysis of covariance (ANCOVA) were used to compare the mean scores of depression, stress by the number of metabolic syndrome components present. Logistic regression analyses were used to explore the variables associated with depression, stress, health behaviors and metabolic syndrome. Results: The prevalence of depression, stress and metabolic syndrome were 18.8%, 15.8%, 22.1%. Metabolic syndrome and negative health behaviors were more frequently observed in depressed and stressed groups. CES-D and PWI-SF scores increased with the number of components metabolic syndrome present. After covariates (age, education) adjusted, the odds ratios of bad health behaviors with depression and stress were 1.67 (95% CI=1.21~2.28) and 2.77 (95% CI=1.15~ 2.55). After covariates (age, education, BMI, smoking, drinking, exercise) adjusted, the odds ratios of metabolic syndrome with depression and stress were 1.48 (95% CI=1.07~2.06) and 1.75 (95 % CI=1.23~2.48). Conclusion: Depression and stress were independently associated with health behaviors and metabolic syndrome.

At Hot gas desulfurization, which is one of the unit process for Integrated coal Gasification Combined Cycle(IGCC) system, SO₂ was generated in the regeneration process of sorbents. SO₂ is a major atmospheric pollutant causing various ecological damages and health problems. Direct sulfur recovery process(DSRP) is the catalytic reduction of SO₂ to elemental sulfur by a reductant gas such as CO, H_(z) or CH₄. In this work, the optimization of reaction condition such as the reaction temperature, space velocity and CO/SO₂ molar ratio in DSRP was performed. Sn-Zr compound was used as catalyst in DSRP. Especially, in this process, at low temperature of 598 K, elemental sulfur yield was very high. Generally, DSRP was performed at high temperature above 673 K. Therefore, this process has many advantage from the viewpoint of economy.
Ce_(0.8)Zr_(0.2)O₂ 촉매를 이용한 Dimethyl Carbonate 합성에서 탈수제 첨가의 영향

The effect of dehydrating agent in DMC(dimethyl carbonate) synthesis from methanol and carbon dioxide over Ce_(0.8)Zr_(0.2)O₂ catalyst was studied in this work. Ce_(0.8)Zr_(0.2)O₂ catalyst having the best activity among Ce_(1-x)Zr_(x)O₂ catalysts was selected. We could supposed that the addition of dehydrating agents improved the DMC yield by H₂O elimination. When the dehydrating agents such as Na_(2)SO₄ or K₂SO₄ was added into the synthesis of DMC, the formation amount of DMC increased to about 0.8∼0.9 mmol through the elimination of formed H₂O as by-product.
