Design and Application of Subsurface Drainage Devices for Multipurpose Farmland

Purpose: This study aims to identify the most stable boring shape among the circle, square, and inverted-triangle types in order to be applied to the development of a tractor-pulled underdrain boring device. Methods: The underdrain boring devices designed with the circle, inverted triangle, and square types were analyzed by numerical analysis, and they were evaluated by soil moisture and underground water level in the test field. Results: The results of the numerical analysis indicated that the increases in displacement, and strain when a uniform load is placed on the surface soil with soil weight were in the order of the inverted-triangle type, square type, and circle type. The soil moisture content and the underground water level after rainfall showed the largest difference in the order of the circle type, square type, and inverted-triangle type, indicating that the circle type had the largest drainage effects after rainfall. Conclusions: The overall findings of this study show that the circle type is the most stable among the circle, square, and inverted-triangle types.
Effect of Chain Type Mole-Drainer Attached to Tractor for Drainage Improvement

The area of paddy fields for upland crop cultivation is gradually increasing. In this context, we developed a chain type mole drainer that can be attachedto a tractor to prevent the wet injury of crops. To conduct a field test, we formed underdrains at 2 m intervals in a paddy field wherein soybeansare cultivated, and we investigated the status of the soil moisture, groundwater level, and soybean growth during the cultivation period. The soil moisturecontent decreased by 22.3∼26.8% in the test plot and by 5.9∼6.9% in the control plot during a period of 57∼88 hour after a rainfall of 41.5∼157.0mm. The effect of underdrainage was clear as the hourly groundwater level decreased approximately 2.8 times faster in the test plot compared withthe control plot. Moreover, the soybean yield was greater by 78.6 kg/10a in the test plot than in the control plot. Therefore, for soybean cultivationin paddy fields, the use of the developed mole drainer is expected to help in improving the drainage and increasing the soybean yield

방풍팬스의 설치에 의한 저층건물 주변의 풍압특성을 분석하기 위하여 풍압실험을 실시하였다. 방풍팬스의 다공율은 0%와 20%을 중심으로 하였다. 방풍팬스와 저층건물의 거리는 1H-9H까지 범위안에서 측정을 하였다. 사용된 풍속은 6m/s로 일정하게 하였다. 저층건물의 측압공 위치는 정면과 측면 후면을 중심으로 총 54개를 측정하였다. 분석결과 다공률 20%일때는 측정거리 1H-3H일 때 다공률 40%일 때는 측정거리 4H-6H일 때 가장 효과적이었다. The effects of porous wind fence on the pressure characteristics around low-rise building model were investigated experimentally. Flow characteristics of velocities and turbulences behind wind fence were measured using hot-wire anemometer The wind fence characterize by varying the porosity of 0%, 20% and the distances from the wind fence from 1H to 9H with maintaining the uniform flow velocity of 6 m/s. we investigated the overall characterization of the low-rise building by measuring pressure seventy four on model. The effects of porosity fences varied with the porosity of the fence and measurement locations(1H-9H). The 20% porosity proved to be effective for the protection area of 1H to 3H, but the 40% porosity proved to be effective for the protection area of 4H to 6H.
무창 슬러리돈사내 오염물질 정량화 및 이동경로 추적 연구

This work was carried out to find out the amount and movement of airborne contaminants and the problems of the ventilation structure of a windowless pig house. The amount and concentration of the total dust, respirable dust, offensive odor, ammonia, and hydrogen sulfide were measured. The pig house's amount of total dust in summer season was more than that in winter season. The concentrations of the offensive odor, ammonia, and hydrogen sulfide in winter season were higher than those in summer season. These concentrations are considered an effect of the ventilation rate. A smoke generator test of the windowless pig house showed a bad route of inflow air and the circulation of contaminants. The results can be used as a basic reference in controlling the environment of a windowless pig house and efficiently designing its ventilation structure. 본 연구는 밀폐형 슬러리돈사내 악취, 분진 등 오염물질의 농도 및 발생량을 정량화하고, 오염물질의 이동경로를 추적함으로써 밀폐형 슬러리돈사의 환기구조상 문제점을 파악하고자 하였다. 돈사내 오염물질 측정 항목으로 총분진(Total dust), 호흡성 분진(Respirable dust), 악취, 암모니아(NH3) 및 황화수소(H2S)가 측정되었는데, 총분진(total dust)의 경우 발생량이 여름철은 3.25㎎/m3으로 겨울철의 2.70㎎/m3보다 높게 나타났다. 악취, 암모니아 및 황화수소의 농도는 여름철보다 겨울철에 높게 나타났는데, 그 원인은 환기율과 밀접한 관계가 있는 것으로 판단된다. 오염물질 이동경로 추적 시험은 연기발생기(AD-SG16) 시험을 통한 연기의 이동경로에 의해 악취 등 오염물질의 이동경로를 추적하고자 하였는데, 외부에서 유입된 신선한 공기는 적절한 순환경로를 거치지 않고 바로 배기팬으로 빠져나가는 경향이 있었으며, 돈사바닥 슬랏부로 올라오는 각종 오염물질들은 재순환되는 문제점이 있는 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구의 결과는 밀폐형 슬러리돈사내 각종 오염물질의 발생량 파악하고 이동경로를 추적함으로써, 금후 밀폐형 슬러리돈사내 환경관리 및 효율적인 환기구조 설계 연구에 기초자료로 활용될 수 있을 것이다.

The results of the field tests with the prototype of the improved screw type show that the opening torque was 5Nrn, 64% decreased compared to 14Nm of the existed diversion gates. Moreover, there were no any rust as well as physical changes with various weather condition. While the operating times of the conventional screw and worm gear typed diversion gates were 233sec and 495sec, respectively, the operating time of the improved screw type was only 32sec, only 13.7% and 6.5%, respectively, of them. The amount of leakage was 0.4 liter per minute for the improved screw typed diversion gate while the conventional gate was shown l.5liter per minute according to gap, corrosion, defect, etc.
