Objectives: The aim of this study was to evaluate the effects of Hwanggi-tang on glucose digestion, uptake, and metabolism in murine C2C12 myotubes. Methods: Hwanggi-tang was prepared according to the Dong-ui-bo-gam (≪東醫寶鑑≫) prescription by 70% ethanol extraction. The effect on glucose digestion was examined by determining the inhibitory effect of Hwanggi-tang on α-glucosidase activity. We also compared and verified the gene and protein expression of genes related to glucose uptake in C2C12 myotubes treated with Hwanggi-tang or insulin. Glucose metabolism was assessed by the expression levels of associated enzymes. Results: Hwanggi-tang caused a dose-dependent inhibition of α-glucosidase activity, induced glucose uptake by activation of the PI3K/Akt/mTOR pathway in the insulin signaling pathway, and promoted glucose oxidation and β-oxidation. Conclusions: Hwanggi-tang exerts an anti-diabetic effect on murine myotubes by inhibiting glucose digestion and inducing glucose uptake and consumption.
다극형 스파크 �b과 다중평행판 축전기형 전송회로를 사용한 질소레이저의 동작특성

We have studied on the operational characteristics of a nitrogen laser which was coupled with a multiplex parallel capacitor type Blumlein transmission line circuit and a multiplex sparkgap. This spark gap consisted of 8 pairs of electrode and was 50 ㎝ in length, as long as the laser tube. According to increasing the number of electrodes in the spark gaps up to the 6 pairs, the output power and stability of the laser was increased. It was to be improved that the multiplex spark gap was operated as a good peformance to the nitrogen laser system. The optimum operational condition of the nitrogen laser at 20㎐ of repetition rate could be obtained with the nitrogen gas pressure of 80 torr, E/P value of 325.0 v/㎝ torr at the electrodes spacing 5.0 ㎜ and of 90 torr, E/P value of 311.1 v/㎝ torr at the electrodes spacing 6.0 ㎜ respectively.

This case study reports on the effect of Korean medicine on a catheter-associated urinary tract infection (CAUTI) caused by multidrug-resistant Pseudomonas aeruginosa. An 83-year-old man diagnosed with stroke had dysuria, and it was found that an indwelling urinary catheter led to CAUTI. From laboratory tests, we identified multidrug-resistant Pseudomonas aeruginosa and applied Korean medicine to him. After herbal medication with acupuncture and moxibustion, we studied a urinalysis and urine culture again for follow-up. We found meaningful improvement in bacteriuria and bacterial identification. This case suggests that Korean medicine could have a beneficial effect on urinary tract infections caused by multidrug-resistant Pseudomonas aeruginosa.

In the present study the heating characteristics of the by passed heat pump using an inverter compressor are experimentally investigated. The test is executed in two rooms of identical condition. To one test room it established the Heat pump, to the other it established the electricity heater. During the test, the each room was maintained with 23℃. The purpose of the test is comparison with heat pump and electricity heater power consumption. At the result of the test, heat pump is saved on electric power consumption 59.5% than electric heater. At total supplied heat, heat pump supply 18,878 ㎉ and electricity heater supply 1,110 ㎉. COP of heat pump is 2.87. When outdoor temperature is high, the COP value was high.

The parts of building which has the most influence on thermal load are skins, outer walls and windows. Among them, window is the worst weak point of building even if it has many advantage of solar radiation gain than other parts. The present time, many researches on various performance of window and many types of system-window are being made. This study evaluates thermal performance of tilt & sliding system window by simulation program Therm 5.2 and Window 5.2. After making a sample model improving it's thermal weak point, this study evaluates real thermal performace of system window. As a result, this study understands manufacture ability condition of domestic company and proposes a research plan of system window.

Though steel stud house offers many advantages to the consumer and the builder, the use of steel studs in dry wall system causes thermal problems such as heat bridge or pattern staying on walls. The purpose of this study is to measure thermal performance of dry wall which uses steel stud transformed one by using measurement equipment to decrease heat bridge of steel stud and ensure heat performance. As results of test and photograping by using TVS, there was temperature gap of each stud and surface temperature of each section appeared differently due to shape of stud which delays thermal bridge. As a comparative performance test result, the performance of dry wall which uses steel stud transformed one has been improved compare with the dry wall using general steel stud.
고효율에너지기자재 고기밀성 단열창호의 단열성능 평가 연구

Currently the country's foreign energy dependence reaches approximately 97% and the total energy consumption percentage of buildings(commercial and domestic parts) reaches approximately 24%. Building energy saving by enhanced insulation will be very important issue. Therefore, the solution is required to reduce energy loss and increasing displeasure caused by excessive influx of solar energy through windows, to solve the problems like decoloration on indoor furniture an clothes by harmful ultraviolet rays, air conditioning and increased cost. This research used for commercialization and ills semination by basic information through a evaluation on insulation performance of the window of high efficiency energy equipment which can improve the insulation performance.

Enhancement of exterior's insulation performance like wall or window etc. is general way for building's energy efficient and thermal performance. But exterior's opening plan is important for minimizing the energy consumption and heat loss. In this paper, energy saving rate will be analyzed and compared considering the window area's rate and window's SC(Shading Coefficient) in a apartment with Building Energy Efficiency Rating System's evaluation tool. In the process of evaluation, energy saving rate is measured at each stage of the window area's rate from 20% to 60% every 10% term and the shading coefficient value from 1.0 to 0.6. As a result of this research, energy saving evaluation could not be measured exactly with existing evaluation tool. Accord this research, Building Energy Rating System's evaluation range is needed to be broaden for exact evaluation of energy saving rate.
