        학교 실험 폐수 처리 방안

        According to our secondary school curriculum for natural science and technical circles, there be used 353 of chemical reagents including 24 kinds of harmful and toxicant components. At present, most school are discharging their school laboratory waste water without any chemical and physical treatments. So as to solve the environmental problem for water pollution, this study tried to research a kind of adsorbant utilizing saw dust, wasted wood sources and designed the simple processing system using the adsorbent. This adsorbent was made by extracting lignin substances from raw saw dust under the solution of 0.5N-NaOH at the temperature of $100^{\circ}C$. Their metal removed rates was measured not only by processing of column and vessel. but also by comparing the standard solution and real waste water. The results were proved as more than 90(%) of the adsorptive efficiency on the average from Pb, Cd, Cu except Cr(VI)in case of the school experimental waste water soaked in vessels a long with 4g of the adsorbent for 24 hours. The new processing system enables to remove most harmful and toxicant metals by filtering, sedimenting and adsorbing at the low cost.

        Transient Left Ventricular Systolic Dysfunction Associated with Carbon Monoxide Toxicity

        Carbon monoxide (CO) is one of well known chemical asphyxiants which cause tissue hypoxia with prominent neurologic and cardiovascular injury. Cardiac dysfunction after CO poisoning can be presented as two clinical patterns. One is transient global left ventricular (LV) dysfunction and the other is LV dysfunction with regional wall motion abnormalities. In this case report, we present a case with transient LV systolic dysfunction caused by intentional exposure to CO. After conservative treatment including high concentration of oxygen, the patient recovered completely without any complication.

      • 우주방사선과 암발생 위험도

        고에너지 하전 입자의 형태의 전리 방사선으로 주로 구성되는 우주방사선은 우리가 지표면이나 저궤도에서 노출되는 방사선과는 다른 특징을 가지고 있다. 우주방사선에 의한 생물학적 영향의 정도와 형태 또한 기존 감마선이나 엑스선과는 다른 특징을 가질 것으로 생각된다. 하지만 우주비행사를 제외한 대부분의 인간은 이런 우주방사선 노출에 대한 경험이 없으며, 암발생 위험을 비롯한 인체에 미치는 영향 또한 제한적으로 연구되었을 뿐이다. 우주방사선의 암발생 위험도에 대한 연구를 진행하고 및 이에 대한 불확실성을 해소하는 것은 향후 도래할 우주시대의 필수적인 부분이라고 할 수 있다. 우리나라에서도 현재 개발 중인 중입자가속기를 이용하여 머지않은 미래에 우주방사선의 인체 영향에 대한 연구에 참여할 수 있을 것으로 기대해 본다. Space radiation, that is configured mainly with ionizing radiation in the form of high-energy radiation and charged particles, have different characteristics from radiation that are exposed at the surface and a low-earth orbit. It is considered that the extent and type of the biological effects caused by space radiation are also different from conventional X-ray and gamma-ray. However, the most of humans except for astronauts has no experience with space radiation exposure, the effects on human body including cancer risk has been based on only limited studies. It is the essential part of the Space Age to come in the future to study cancer risk induced by space radiation and resolve uncertainty. In the near future, we expect to be able to participate in studies on the health effects of space radiation, using heavy-ion accelerators under development in Korea.

        Management of Regional Lymph Nodes in Localized Vulvar Carcinoma

        Purpose: To evaluate the impact of postoperative radiotherapy on loco-regional failure in patients with vulvar carcinoma and to determine the treatment strategy for inguinal lymph nodes. Materials and Methods: Sixty-six patients who received treatment for primary vulvar carcinoma at Seoul National University Hospital, from October 1979 through June 2004, were retrospectively analyzed. Sixteen patients were excluded from the analysis due to the following reasons: distant metastases in two patients; palliative intent for six patients; previous radiotherapy given to the pelvis in three patients; follow-up loss after surgery for four patient; insufficient medical records for one patient. Of 50 eligible patients, 35 were treated with surgery alone (S), ten were treated with surgery followed by radiotherapy (S+RT), and five were treated with radiotherapy alone. Results: The 5-year overall survival (OS) and disease-free survival (DFS) rates of all patients were 91% and 78%, respectively. Twelve patients (26%) experienced treatment failures and the sites of initial failure were as follows: a primary site in eight patients; regional lymph nodes in three patients; the lung in one patient. Although risk factors for failure were more common in the S+RT group than the S group of patients (p <0.05), the DFS rates were similar for the two groups (5-year DFS rates, 78% vs. 83%, p=0.66). The incidences of occult lymph node metastases was 10%. Ten of 31 patients with clinically negative lymph nodes did not received inguinal lymph node dissection, but no patient experienced regional failure. Conclusion: Postoperative radiotherapy may have a potential benefit for patients with risk factors for failure. The omission of inguinal dissection or elective radiotherapy to the inguinal lymph nodes may be considered in low-risk patients with clinically negative lymph nodes.

        근거이론을 통한 개인종목 선수의 집단응집력 경험 분석

        Purpose: The purpose of this study is to reveal how individual athletes experience group cohesion in a group by analyzing the group cohesive experience of individual athletes. Methods: Data were collected using an open questionnaire from 386 domestic individual athletes, and analyzed using grounded theory. In the data analysis, the original data were conceptualized in the open coding stage, similarities and differences were separated into various meanings, important concepts were extracted, and similar contents were classified into sub-categories and super-categories. In the axial coding stage, subcategories and supercategories were connected as a paradigm with causal conditions, contextual conditions, central phenomena, mediating conditions, actions/interactions, and results. In the selected coding stage, a core category for maintaining the central phenomenon was extracted, and the outline of the story was completed with a storyline. Results: The results of this study are as follows. The central phenomenon appeared as ‘cooperating and competing (symbiotic relationship)’, the causal condition was ‘relationship necessary for each other’, the contextual condition was ‘creating an atmosphere for training’, the mediation condition was ‘support of the leader’, and the action/interaction The action was ‘expression of psychological skills’, and the result was ‘group cohesive experience’. Conclusion: Individual athletes experienced symbiotic relationship-type group cohesion in a group. Based on this study, it is hoped that the characteristics of individual events will be understood and discussions on the collective cohesion of individual events will follow. 연구목적: 본 연구의 목적은 개인종목 선수의 집단응집력 경험을 분석하여, 개인종목 선수가 집단에서 집단응집력을 어떻게 경험하고 있는지를 드러내는데 목적이 있다. 연구방법: 국내 개인종목 선수 386명에게 개방형 설문지로자료룰 수집하였고, 이를 근거이론을 사용하여 분석하였다. 자료분석은 개방코딩(open coding) 단계에서 원자료를개념화하고 유사점과 차이점을 구별하여 여러 의미로 분리한 후 중요한 개념을 추출하여, 유사한 내용을 하위범주및 상위범주로 분류하였다. 축코딩(axial coding) 단계에서는 하위범주와 상위범주를 인과적 조건, 맥락적 조건, 중심 현상, 중재적 조건, 작용/상호작용, 결과로 패러다임으로 연결하였다. 선택코딩(selected coding) 단계에서는 중심현상 유지를 위한 핵심범주(core category)를 추출하고, 스토리라인(storyline)으로 이야기의 윤곽을 완성하였다. 연구결과: 본 연구의 결과는 다음과 같다. 중심현상은 ‘협력하며 경쟁하기(공생관계)’로 나타났고 인과적 조건은‘서로 필요한 관계’, 맥락적 조건은 ‘훈련하는 분위기 조성’, 중재적 조건은 ‘지도자의지지’, 작용/상호작용은 ‘심리기술의 발현’, 그리고 결과는 ‘집단응집력 경험’으로 나타났다. 결론: 개인종목 선수들은 집단에서 공생관계 형(形) 집단응집력을 경험하였다. 본 연구를 토대로 개인종목의 특성을 이해하고 이에 따른 개인종목의 집단응집력에 대한 논의가 이어지기를 바란다.
