A Human life is definitely changing as the Internet is developed and supplied. Recently, people and companies can conduct their work by online with various technologies using the Internet. However, lots of equipments in the building are still managed by many engineers. In case of chiller, engineers in building can monitor chiller’s state using their own PLC(Programmable Logic Controller), or other monitoring systems, but they usually require service from manufacturer when the chillers get some problems. Manufacturers would be able to offer better service to customers, and bring a solution quickly if service engineers in the manufacturer can monitor chiller’s state in the service center. In this paper, the remote control system which can control chillers in the service center using the Internet technology is introduced.

The present study has been conducted to design a high efficiency impeller for a centrifugal chiller with the refrigerant R134a. In this study, we considered a harmony between impeller and diffuser in full load and part load condition. To get a high efficiency and reliability in suitable range, the numerical analyses were carried out at the various flow rate. A finally designed compressor was investigated experimentally to check the performance. The analysis data coincides with the test result of the compressor quite well and also the data in this study would be useful for an expanded capacity of an impeller to improve compressor efficiency.

The most recent, a demand of ice storage system for energy saving is gradually increasing. Ice storage centrifugal-chiller needs a large head compressor because a differential pressure between evaporation and condensation is high. In this study, an inlet/outlet blade angle of impeller and diffuser was designed by an one-dimensional analysis of COMPAL. In the result of a three-dimensional analysis based on the COMPAL result, we got a 47% head rise more than general centrifugal-chiller.

Recent CFD studies for predicting the performance of a centrifugal-chiller is active. In this study, the method to minimize a loss of impeller and diffuser has been investigated with an one-dimensional analysis of COMPAL. After understanding the one-dimensional internal flow characteristics changing geometry such as inlet/outlet blade angle of impeller and diffuser, we studied the trend of pressure and loss change according to the geometry changes. In the result of a three-dimensional analysis using the feature of geometry, we have approached a designed goal, and a development time has been shortened.
