        CDRgator: An Integrative Navigator of Cancer Drug Resistance Gene Signatures

        Understanding the mechanisms of cancer drug resistance is a critical challenge in cancer therapy. For many cancer drugs, various resistance mechanisms have been identified such as target alteration, alternative signaling pathways, epithelial?mesenchymal transition, and epigenetic modulation. Resistance may arise via multiple mechanisms even for a single drug, making it necessary to investigate multiple independent models for comprehensive understanding and therapeutic application. In particular, we hypothesize that different resistance processes result in distinct gene expression changes. Here, we present a web-based database, CDRgator (Cancer Drug Resistance navigator) for comparative analysis of gene expression signatures of cancer drug resistance. Resistance signatures were extracted from two different types of datasets. First, resistance signatures were extracted from transcriptomic profiles of cancer cells or patient samples and their resistanceinduced counterparts for >30 cancer drugs. Second, drug resistance group signatures were also extracted from two largescale drug sensitivity datasets representing ~1,000 cancer cell lines. All the datasets are available for download, and are conveniently accessible based on drug class and cancer type, along with analytic features such as clustering analysis, multidimensional scaling, and pathway analysis. CDRgator allows meta-analysis of independent resistance models for more comprehensive understanding of drug-resistance mechanisms that is difficult to accomplish with individual datasets alone (database URL: http://cdrgator.ewha.ac.kr).

        대학 교양국어 교재 개편 방안 연구 - 목원대학교 1학기 교양국어 교재를 중심으로 -

        This article aims to search for directionality regarding the reorganization of the textbook that is to be used beginning in the first semester of the year 2020 in the liberal arts Korean language course of <Discussion and Writing> I of Mokwon University. After the Textbook Compilation Committee for the liberal arts Korean language course of Mokwon University searched for directionality for the textbooks of the liberal arts Korean language courses <Discussion and Writing> I and II, it attempted to newly compile textbooks that reflect the integrated education of reading, listening, speaking, and writing, which are the 4 major domains of Korean language, and that satisfy 4 major core competencies as an ‘innovative’ course (altruistic personality capacity, self reliant capacity, creative problem solving capacity, conciliatory communication capacity). Goals were set to compile new textbooks with those for the first semester focusing on the cultivation of speaking abilities (expressing thoughts freely), and those for the second semester focusing on the cultivation of writing abilities (organizing thought logically). Mokwon University prepared the following measures through surveys conducted on learners and teachers. First, new textbooks lay emphasis on specializing subject goals and management by semester (speaking focused education in semester 1/writing focused education in semester 2) to improve the basic learning skills of new students. Second, with textbooks for the first semester, basic knowledge on speaking is taught so that students can effectively learn and textbooks are composed in phases so that diverse thoughts and opinions can be collected and individual thoughts can be freely expressed through speaking within small groups. Third, these textbooks are composed to fit 15 week lectures with theory and practice, presentation, discussion, mid terms, and finals. Before mid terms, small group activities such as mini discussions and presentations are arranged, placing focus on the reinforcement of individual empirical learning in which thoughts can be expressed freely. After mid terms, focused speaking education is conducted through standard discussion and it is composed to increase learning efficiency. Fourth, new textbooks are characteristic in that they are designed to connect to subjects that cultivate communication skills and Korean language skills established in liberal arts micro degree courses. Fifth, contents of the Mokwon Stokes Discussion Competition held in the second semester of every year will be included in a supplement. Contents such as discussion competition topics, discussion process methods, discussion manuals, and score cards are included in sessions 1 to 6 and after students take classes, they can continually use these textbooks as speaking guides. More than anything else, methods for systematic basic education to be implemented will be searched for through the development of various multimedia auxiliary textbooks, standard lecture plans, and assessment tools along with textbooks(Speaking to thinking and expression) that will be used in the first semester of 2020 so that students will be able to cultivate their critical skills and creative problem solving skills after taking classes. 이 연구의 목적은 목원대학교 교양국어 1학기 교재에 대한 방향성과 내용을 수립하여, 대학생들이 2020년 1학기부터 수업에서 직접 활용할 수 있는 교재의 콘텐츠를 개발, 탐색하는 데 있다. 목원대학교 교양국어 교재편찬위원회는 그동안 교양국어 <토론과 글쓰기>Ⅰ,Ⅱ 개편 방향을 모색한 결과 읽기, 듣기, 말하기, 글쓰기의 국어과 4대 영역에 대한 통합교육을 반영하는 동시에 ‘혁신’교과목으로서 4대 핵심역량(이타적 인성역량, 주체적 자립역량, 창의적 문제해결 역량, 융화적 소통역량)에 맞추어 새롭게 교재를 편찬하고자 하였다. 목원대학교는 학습자와 교수자의 설문 조사를 통해 다음과 같은 방안을 마련하였다. 첫 번째, 새 교재는 신입생들의 기초 학습 능력을 향상하기 위해 교과의 목표와 운영을 학기별로 특화(1학기는 말하기 집중 교육/2학기는 글쓰기 집중 교육)하는데 주안점을 둔다. 두 번째, 1학기 교재의 경우 학생들이 효과적으로 학습을 수행할 수 있도록 말하기에 대한 기초지식을 먼저 습득한 후 다양한 생각과 의견을 수렴하고 자신의 생각을 자유롭게 소그룹 내에서 말하기로 표현할 수 있도록 교재를 단계적으로 구성한다. 세 번째, 본 교재는 15주 강의에 적합하도록 이론 및 실습, 발표, 토론, 중간 및 기말고사로 구성한다. 중간고사 이전에는 미니토론, 발표 등의 소그룹 활동을 배치하여 자신의 생각을 자유롭게 말로 표현하는 개인별 체험학습을 강화하도록 중점을 둔다. 중간고사 이후에는 본격적인 토론을 통해 공적 말하기 집중교육을 실시함으로써 학습의 효율성을 높일 수 있도록 구성한다. 네 번째, 새 교재는 교양 마이크로 디그리 과정에 신설된 의사소통능력과 국어능력을 함양하는 교과목들과 연계하여 설계된다는 점이 특징이다. 무엇보다 2020년 1학기에 사용될 새 교재(생각하고 표현하는 말하기)는 학생들이 수업을 듣고 난 후 비판능력과 창의적 문제해결능력을 함양할 수 있도록 향후 멀티미디어 부교재, 표준강의안, 평가 도구 등을 함께 개발하여 체계적인 기초교육이 실시될 수 있도록 방향을 모색할 것이다.

        상급학생 또래 교수가 청각 장애 학생의 진로 교과 학업 성취도와 학습 태도에 미치는 효과

        또래교수 방법이 청각장애 학생들의 학업성취도 향상과 학습 태도 변화에 효과가 있다고 결론지을 수 있으며, 이러한 결과는 청각장애 학생들의 학업성취도와 태도 변화를 위한 유용한 교수 학습 방법으로 또래교수가 적합하다는 것을 시사한다. 더욱이 이 연구 결과는 청각장애 학생들도 또래 교사의 역할을 잘 담당할 수 있다는 것을 시사해주고 있다.

      • 牛乳加熱時 生成되는 皮膜成分에 關한 硏究

        Although milk is pasteurized We handle it as food for infant, it is desirable to heat it for the reasons of sanition and food allergy. In cases where milk is heated in an open pan the scum forms of the milk. In many cases, it is removed before the milk is drank. To determine the loss of nutrients resulting from discarding the scum, , chemical analysis of scum of heated; cow's milk was made. The amounts of nutrients in the scum are as follows; Totalprotein-2.8-4.0%, average 3. 3%; fat-2.2-3.7%, average-3.0%; calcium-2.2-4. 1%, average 3.0%; vitamine A-3.0-3.9%, average 3.5%; thiamin-1.2-1.9%. average 1.5%; rivoflavin-1.0-1.8%, average 1.3%. The above figures indicate that nutrient losses by discarding the scum are so small that they are almost negligible.

        급격히 증가하는 노인들의 건강과 질병에 대한 관심이 높아짐에 따라 노인 영양에 대하여 필요성이 요구되는 바, 유전, 환경, 영양, 심리상태, 육체적인 활동 정도 등에 대한 많은 연구가 이루어지고 있는 추세이다. 노인의 영양 및 건강관리는 다음과 같이 요약 할 수 있다. 1.전국 노인 인구 증가율은 1970-1980년 사이에 연평균 증가율이 3.4% 1980-1985년에는 3.8%의 증가율을 보여주고 있다. 이로 미루어 보아 노인인구의 평균 증가율은 4.4%로 추산되어 진다. 2. 노인 복지 시설의 미비로 인한 우리나라 노인의 평균수명은 선진국보다 2-3세정도 짧아 영양적인 면의 양적 질적인 면에서 문제점이 대두되고 있다. 3.노인성 질환은 제한식이를 했을 때에 질병 발생율이 50-90%까지 감소 시킬 수 있으며 노화 과정을 지연시켜 수명에 많은 영향을 미친다.

      • 濟州住民들의 營養攝取 調査硏究

        As Chejudo is the largest island in Korea, and it has the biggest population among Korean islands. The island was designated as a tourist resort in Korea and many people visit Chejudo because its surroundings are excellent. As this place has been excluded from the whole nation's nutrition survey, diet life style of this island and the reference data for it have not been understood perfectly. It goes without saying that the better method of dietary life has not been prepared enough. Under the diriecton of three nutrition professors, nutrition survey in Chejudo was carried by 30 college senior students majoring in nutrition from 10 July to 20 August 1982. Among a total of 400 households of south country of Cheju, that is Sung San town. On Pyung Ri, Sang Ri, Jung Ri, Ha Ri, and a fisher woman village, go households were selected and 425 family members of the households were selected for the subjects of nutrition survey. Before cooking and after cooking, precise weighting method was used in evaluating nutrient intakes of the subjects for three consecutive days. The average food intake and eating of children between meals per day were also examined. The results of obtained are as follows: 1. The average total food intake of one person per day in Ox Pyung Ri was 958.166grams. (51.59 percent in meals is 4.39g, 5.4 percent in beans is 21.52 grams) The average food intake of vegetable is 148.4 grams, (113.5g in fresh, 34.9g in processing) and this was second level. The first was meals. The average food intake of seaweeds was 79.2 grams, while that of animal was 132.4 grams. (13.8 percent of total foods). Among the average food intake of dried slices of fish, that of fresh was 79.2 grams and that of processing was 9.8 grams. This quantity was 67.25 percent of total animal food intake. The average of oils and fats food intake were 4.8 grams. This quantity was not adequate in view of its standard quantity. 2. Nutrition intake. 1) The average calorie intake of adults and that of one pre-school children were 2,598㎉ and 1,170㎉ respectively, which are a little lower than that of the recommended daily dietary allowances -2,700㎉ for adults and 1,500㎉ for children of 4 to 6 years by the Korea FAO Association. 2) Daily protein intake of On Pyung Ri residents was 83.7 grams which, comparing with exchange rates for adults and pre-school children, are a little higher than daily dietary allowances. This place is seaside, and the average of protein intake are high because of their eating fishshell and processed food. 3) The average calcium intake of adults 554.9㎎, which is similar to that of the recommended daily dietary allowance-600㎎. That of pre-school children was 463.8㎎ which is more than the allowance, 360㎎. 4) Among the vitamin groups, the average daily vitamin A intake of adults was 3833.6 IU which is less than the recommended allowance for adults of 6000 IU (β-carotene). While that of the pre-school children was 2,461 IU which is much less than the recommended allowance of 4500 IU (β-carotene). 5) As for the health physical characteristics, adults were more well than children, and pre-school children were also well. But the main subjects of our physical examination were pre-school children. The average height was 112. 0㎝ which is higher than that of the Korean standard, 105㎝ given by the Korean Paediatrics Association, and the average weight was 14.6㎏ which is less than that of the Korean standard, 16.7㎏. Chest circumference was 54.4㎝ which is similar to that of Korean standard, 54.0㎝ and head circumference was similar than that of Korean standard, 50.0㎝. The average upper arm circumference was 14.4㎝ and that of skin fold 6.9㎝. 6) The followings were the results by nutrition surveys. In Chejudo nutrient intake was not large deferent comparatively. I would like to recommend that the average vegetables food intake have to be much higher than now.

However, reports on changes in lipid characteristics of soybean during storage are scarce. 3. In this study, therefore, I elucidated the changes in lipid characteristics of soybean during storage and the prodecures for long-term storage.

      • 前方地域 住民의 營養攝取 및 食習慣實態調査(第2報) : 여름철 食品 및 營養素 攝取實態를 中心으로 The Status of Food and Nutrients Intake

        This survey was carried out to obtain an information for the improvement of nutrition and the enlightment of dietary life in a near by area of demilitarized zone during the later part of June, 1984. A total of 23 households were selected from Daigoang-2-ri, Sinsuh-myun, Yunchun, Gyunggi province. As a results of survey, the average intake of vegetable food was as high as 93% and that of the protein intake of good quality was not sufficient. Generally energy and nutrients intakes were lower than the nutritional requirements and national nutrition survey data (Rural) of Korean.

        1. Soybean in cereals is a good nutritive food with protein of high quality. 2. Soybean is evaluated as recommendable food and it is recognized nutritive value as characteristic protein source, because Korean people lack intake of animal protein especially. 3. Processing properties of soybean protein such as solubility, viscosity and adhesiveness are similar to those of milk protein. Therefore utilization of soybean as foaming agent for confectionary, emulsifier in sausage processing, antistaling agent of increased in the field of food processing. 4. In this study, I elucidated the changes of protein characteristics of soybean during long-term storge.
