Investigated In this paper is the shock reflection from a blunt body, In particular, a circular cylinder of 20 mm diameter, for the weak shock impinging in the range 1<$M_s$ <2. Pressure and shock speed are measured for various shock strengths. Double-pulse holographic interferograms are taken to study the unsteady flow field at $M_s=1.34$. These experimental results are, in overall, well compared with the unstructured adaptive finite volume computation of the Euler equations performed in this study. Correlation of incident and reflected shocks and shock-shock locus obtained by experiment, computation, and theory are presented in parallel.

The APU(Auxiliary Power Unit) needs a set of complex pipeline for the fuel supply system where some of the main valves controlling the flow rate consist of the servo valve worked with a torque motor. The input electric current produces an induced magnetic field almost perpendicular to the background magnetic filed generated by fixed permanent magnets. The induced torque deforms the tubular bushing, and directly rotates an armature, which can open and close the valve. In this study, we start from a basic analytic model using a simple electro-magneto-statics, and expand our model to the three-dimensional one computationally applying a commercial code named COMSOL. The result is compared with each other, and reasonable numerical data are obtained for the dynamic behavior and multi-physics system.

As a main part of an utility helicopter, the APU(Auxiliary Power Unit) has a solenoid valve system operated with a torque motor, which controls the flow rate in the fuel supply system. In this paper, we solved the Maxwell potential equations to analyze the electromagnetic force in the torque motor, and some additional analytic methods are used to compute the quantity of torque produced by the torque motor for the given circuit current. For the convenience, small displacement is assumed, and only magneto-static problem is considered for the two-dimensional cross section. The result will be compared with the three-dimensional analysis that will be studied in the near future.
영어 어미 ‘-ge’에서 보이는 마찰음의 무성음화 현상: 파열음의 기음화와 모음의 비음화

In English, the pronunciation of the suffix ‘-ge’ is generally allocated between fricative /ʒ/ and affricate /dʒ/. However, sometimes they are devoiced to /ʃ/ and /tʃ/, respectively. So far, this phenomenon has been well known as ‘articulatory reduction’ or ‘lenition’: the devoicing from /z/ to /s/, for example. This paper analyzes the examples containing the suffix ‘-ge’ (e.g. ‘camouflage’, ‘sabotage’, and ‘bricolage’), which show these phonological phenomena frequently. Two of the main parameters are considered as primary causes: ‘plosive aspiration’ and ‘vowel nasalization’ around the adjacent syllable. Praat is used for the measurement of voice onset time and spectrum analysis based on a fast Fourier transformation (FFT) and linear prediction coding (LPC) filter. For the normalization of aspirated plosive prefix sounds, a novel concept of ‘specific impulse’ is proposed and utilized for the assessment of aerodynamic load. It is also explained that the bypass of airflow at the vowels involving nasal consonants enhanced the devoicing. Therefore, we constructed a guideline for the predictive criteria of sound in the suffix containing fricatives, /ʒ/ and /ʃ/. .
