Currently the variety of governmental business support and research for supplying solar energy have been actively progressed. As of now, however, There are no practical testing infrastructures of grid- connected PV system which test performance of solar power facility in domestic. Therefore, KEPRI is constructing of practical testing ground of 500 ㎾ class grid-connected PV system for developing the evaluation of the performance technology including the module, inverter and etc. That is the important instrument of the PV system in Gochang area. It analyzed the site creation work for constructing the practical testing ground and new construction of control room and the unit standards, specifications and capacity of required equipment. For the system detailed design, the components of testing ground are needed to be built.
The purpose of this paper is to explain the real characteristics of generation system of large scale power system of high voltage the grid connected PV power system for electricity industry. Main system is made up PCS in the class 150kVA. and we studied commercial operation in Korea-Western Power Company,(Tae-An headquarter) with the capacity of module is 122.5 kWp. On the average, power plant utilities' utilization is 12.71 percent and consumption rate is 6.66 percent. We operated normally since 25th, August 2005 without any other problems.
The performance of photovoltaic systems could be affected by various factors including installing conditions of modules, and their own efficiencies of solar cells and inverters. The installing conditions of a photovoltaic system including array types, tilting angles, azimuth, locations, quantities of sunshine, optimum angles of inclination and separated distance are analyzed using the SolarPro & Minitep SW simulation program, in order to set up the installing conditions for improving system performance.The result from the simulation of the 500 ㎾p PV system of Kochang with optimal installing conditions compared with normal conditions shows that the capacity factor has been increased from 11.02% to 12.06%
