A huge trichobezoar in the jejunum

Bezoar는 흡수되지 않은 이물질이 음식물과 섞여 형성된 장내 결석으로 이 중에서도 모발에 의한 경우를 trichobezoar라고 한다. 모발석은 대부분 위 내에 존재하고 소장까지 이동하지는 않는다고 알려져 있으며 빈혈, 위장관 폐쇄 또는 천공, 복막염, 장중첩증, 췌장염 등을 유발할 수 있다. 저자들은 복통과 담즙성 구토를 주소로 내원한 8세 여아에서 공장내의 10 cm 길이의 모발석을 진단하였고, 이로 인해 유발되었을 것으로 추정되는 췌장효소(아밀라제 및 리파제)의 증가를 관찰하였다. 환아는 모발석의 수술적 제거 후 증상의 호전을 보였고, 췌장효소는 정상화되었다. 드물게 보고되고 있는 공장내의 큰 모발석 1례를 경험하였기에 문헌 고찰과 함께 보고하는 바이다. An otherwise healthy, 8-year-old girl presented with vague abdominal pain, vomiting, and a tensely distended abdomen. Abdominal ultrasonography and computed tomography demonstrated a huge amount of jejunal material, about 10 cm long, resulting in near obstruction of the jejunum. The material was removed surgically and a postoperative pathologic report confirmed that it was a trichobezoar. A postoperative consultation with a pediatric psychologist revealed neither abnormal behavioral tendencies nor overt psychopathology. After removing the trichobezoar from the jejunum, her health improved completely. We report a rare case of a huge jejunal trichobezoar in a normally developed child with no psychological problems.

When permanent magnet is embedded in the rotor of claw pole machine, the magnetic saturation of rotor core is largely reduced. As a result of the reduction of magnetic saturation, reluctance is reduced. Thus, larger Back-EMF is obtained due to the increase of flux linkage. In this paper, C-core which is the simplified motor is used to define the phenomena. The merit to attach permanent magnet in the rotor of claw pole machine is confirmed through 3D-FEA. Finally, permanet magnet size is optimized to obtain the maximum Back-EMF increase.

Recently, Interior Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor(IPMSM) is widely used in the industry applications such as power train for hybrid vehicles and compressor motors of air-conditioner due to its high power density and wide speed range. There are some ways for confirming of maximum power in IPMSM. However, This paper suggests that there is a way about making sure maximum power by reducing turn numbers of armature winding. Setting up the voltage equation through the equivalent circuit and vector diagram of IPMSM first, and then estimating the parameter and power of IPMSM by changing the turn numbers of armature winding and voltage. In order to satisfy output power, the turn numbers of armature winding is changed by using the characteristic analysis, and then checking whether secure maximum power or not.

Social Network Service (SNS) is killer application of Web 2.0. However, speed of growth is slowing down due to the geographical restrictions and restriction of participants’role. SNS sites made great exertions such that market expansion through globalization, mobile service, and new business model to cope with the environment changes. In the paper, we propose a new business model to promote the participation of SNS users, named reward-based business model for SNS site. In the our business model, trade products are idle digital items that are defined as items are not good usage but only reserved by user. We perform numerical analysis to evaluate the effectiveness of our business model.

Proliferation of abnormal hematopoietic cells with impaired differentiation, regulation and programmed cell death leads to leukemia. AML(acute myeloid leukemia) is a malignancy with malfunction of myeloid hematopoietic cells with acute behavior. The oral manifestations of the disease are posterior palate hemorrhage, gingival bleeding and gingival ulceration as a result of infection by normal oral flora and gingival infiltration by leukemic cells. A 49-year-old male patient was referred from local dental clinic. The patient was diagnosed with AML FAB M1 (acute myeloid leukemia French-American-British classification M1 myeloblastic leukemia without maturation). The oral infection focus was removed by a conservative treatment. 2 days after the dental treatment, the patient underwent chemotherapy. At 8-month follow-up, the overall outcome was excellent. Oral manifestations of AML are often the first indications of the malignancy. Therefore it is essential for dentists, especially oral and maxillofacial surgeons, to be aware of the diagnostic signs and complications associated with leukemia for better diagnosis and subsequent treatment and management.
Minimal Electrocautery as an Alternative Approach for Implant Removal: A Preliminary Animal Study

Purpose: This study aimed to introduce electrocautery for failed implant fixtures removal and to compare the results of this technique according to electrocautery time. Materials and Methods: Implants were placed in the femoral condyle of 12-week-old male New Zealand white rabbits. Five implants in three rabbits were used as the experimental group, and two implants in one rabbit were used as the control group. Six weeks later, electrocautery was performed at 30 W for 10 sec and 15 sec in the experimental group, whereas electrocautery was not performed in the control group. One week later, the implants were removed by hand wrench, and histological analysis was performed. Results: At six weeks after implant placement, histological analysis confirmed osseointegration of the fixtures. As a result of electrocautery, the removal torque of implant fixtures was reduced, and osseointegration broke down. There was no difference in the histologic images of the specimens after removal of the fixture between the experimental and control groups. Conclusion: This study showed that minimal electrocautery with low output for a short time can be utilized for implant removal with minimal damage to the surrounding bone.

Cleft lip/palate patients require life-long multidisciplinary treatment to restore proper orofacial function and esthetics. Due to anatomical complexity and individual variation, conventional surgical techniques and supportive treatment cannot always guarantee ideal treatment results. Three-dimensional (3D) printing technology has driven major innovations in industry system, including medicine. Recent advances of bioprinting have enabled personalized tissue engineering and regenerative techniques. This review article provides an overview of 3D printing and bioprinting technology, including its application, limitation, and future perspectives in cleft lip/palate treatment.
