        Sensitive determination of pendimethalin and dinoseb in environmental water by ultra performance liquid chromatography–tandem mass spectrometry

        Direct injection (DI) and solid phase extraction (SPE) methods for the simultaneous determination of pendimethalin (PDM) and dinoseb (DNS) in environmental water have been optimized using the ultra performance liquid chromatography–tandem mass spectrometry (UPLC–MS/MS) method. The limits of quantification (LOQs) of PDM and DNS were 0.01 μg/L using the DI method and 0.0001-0.0002 μg/L using the SPE method. The precision by SPE UPLC-MS/MS was less than 11 % for intra-day and inter–day analyses. When the proposed SPE method was used to analyze two analytes in environmental water, PDM was detected in a concentration range of 0.0002-0.011 μg/L in 31 samples of the 114 surface water samples, and DNS was detected in a concentration range of 0.0005-0.045 μg/L in 17 samples of the 114 surface water samples analyzed. When the DI method was used to analyze target compounds in the same samples, the detected concentrations of the two analytes were within 21% in samples with concentrations above 0.01 μg/L. The DI UPLC–MS/ MS method can thus be used for the routine monitoring of PDM and DNS in environmental water, and the SPE LC–MS/MS method can be used for the determination of the ultra-trace PDM and DNS residues in environmental water.

        In order to enhance the selective adsorption of CO₂, the surface of granular activated carbon (GAC) was modified by an ammonia solution. Ammonia in an aqueous phase could be decomposed into NH4+, OH- and other N-containing elements. The present work attempted to impregnate some basic functional groups leading to chemisorption of the activated carbon surface. While the addition of N-groups reduced the specific surface area from 2071.4 ㎡/g to about 1300-1400 ㎡/g, the adsorption capacity for CO₂ increased to a certain degree, and the best amination could be achieved with the reaction at 100℃ for 12 hours. The enhanced adsorption capacity could be obtained by formation of nitrogen functionalities such as amine, pyrrolic groups and pyridine oxides which were verified by XPS analysis.

        야생 흰 제비꽃 (Viola patrinii DC) 배양세포의 활성에 미치는 다양한 현탁배양 방법

        야생 흰 제비꽃 (viola patrinii DC.)의 callus로부터 분열 활성이 높고 균일한 세포주의 생산성 향상을 위한 현탁배양 방법이 세포의 생장에 미치는 영향에 관하여 조사한 결과는 다음과 같다. Compact callus의 세포생장을 위해서 배지의 종류를 MS, B5, R2, White배지로 나누어서 실험한 결과 MS배지와 R2 배지의 callus 생육이 양호하였으며, White배지를 사용시에는 횐 callus에 붉은 색소 (시코닌계 색소)가 생산되었다. 무기염의 농도에서는 생체중은 MS 기본배지에서 건물중은 1/2 NH$_4$NO$_3$, 1/2 KNO$_3$가 가장 좋았다. 배지중의 NH$_{4}$$^{+}$ 와 HO$_{3}$$^{-}$ 농도비를 100:0, 75:25, 50:50, 25:75, 0:100로 한 결과 25:75의 비에서 생육이 가장 양호하였으며, NH$_{4}$$^{+}$ 의 농도가 낮아질수록 세포에 붉은 색소가 생성되는 경향을 보였다. Casein Hydrolysate (CH)의 농도가 세포의 생장에 미치는 영향은 5 g/L 첨가시 생체중, 건물중 모두 높았다. 조직학적 관찰에 있어서는 2~4주간 된 callus는 대부분의 세포의 크기가 작고 세포질이 농후한 상태로 비교적 균일한 세포로 구성되어 있고 액포화가 거의 이루어지지 않은 상태로 세포의 분열이 왕성하게 이루어지고 있음을 관찰할 수 있었고, 6주간 배양된 callus는 신장되고 액포화된 세포들이 많이 관찰되었다. This experiment was carried out to examine the effects of culture medium on cell growth of the viola (Viola patrinii DC.) suspension culture. The results are as follows: The greatest cell growth rates were found with MS medium suggesting that this medium could be recommendable for the viola suspension cell culture. When the nitrogen sources (NH$_4$NO$_3$ and KNO$_3$) of MS salts were diluted at half concentrations, the cell growth rates were slightly increased, but when the combined concentration rations of NH$_4$+ and NO$_3$ions were 25 to 75 the greatest cell growth rates were obtained. This result imply that the nitrogen ion sources had slight influence on the rates. Another feature was obtained. This result implys that the nitrogen ion sources had slight influence on the rates. Another feature was that as the concentration of NH$_4$+ ion lowered, the callus color changed to pale yellow with some red spots. The addition of casein hydrolysate (5 g/L) was more effective for the cell growth. On the basis of microscopic observation, the highest cell growth rates were detected during 2-4 weeks culture and after 6 weeks of the culture, some elongated and vacuolated cells were determined.

        Purpose. This study examines the effects of improving students self-esteem and sociability by conducting a Group Art Therapy Program for students with learning disabilities. This study focused on three students with learning disabilities, attending B middle school special education class located in K county. The study was conducted for two hours once a week (Friday) at B middle school during special education class from May 2, 2014 to July 18, 2014. Methods. For the tools of studying, Self-esteem and social strip forms/rubrics were filled, by students', before and after and data processing was inspected, paired t-Test using the SPSS / WIN (Ver.18.0) for quantitative analysis. Also, on the basis of content, analyzed data of the individuals' self-esteem social changes are shown in graph format. In addition, this qualitative study shows before and after of dynamic house, tree, person (K-H, T, P), dynamic family (KFD), dynamic school life of search phase (4-6 sessions) significant improvement of self-esteem and sociability in adolescents' with learning disabilities influenced by conducting a Group Art Therapy Program. Results. The result of this study can be summarized as follows. First, Group Art Therapy Program shows a statistically significant difference (p<.05) showing that self esteem average is 2.04 before Group Art Therapy Intervention but self esteem average is 2.92 after Group Art Therapy Intervention. Second, as a result of social strip pre-post, there wasn't statistically significant difference compared to self esteem pre-post result, although, post examination's average level was enhanced after Group Art Therapy Program in difference examination.(p>.05). Third, as a result of analysis the indicated pre-post change of Students' pre-post dynamic house, tree, person (HTP), dynamic family (KFD), a dynamic school daily life (KSD), students' family and interpersonal relationships, self-concept shows statistical significant changes. Conclusion. As the result of this study, Group Art Therapy Program shows effective improvement in students' self-esteem and social skills learning disabilities. However, a future study on larger and more diverse group of students' with learning disabilities are advised to be conducted in order to better understand the significance of the Group Art Therapy Program.

        Determination of N-Nitrosodimethylamine and N-Nitrosodiethylamine in Sartans and Metformin Raw Materials and Finished Products by Headspace Gas Chromatography-Tandem Mass Spectrometry

        A simple and sensitive headspace (HS) and gas chromatography-isotope dilution tandem mass spectrometric method was studied to determine N-nitrosodimethylamine (NDMA) and N-nitrosodiethylamine (NDEA) in sartans and metformin raw materials and their finished products. The HS parameters were optimized and selected. Samples in headspace vial were extracted at 150°C for 15?min and analyzed by injecting 1.0 mL of the headspace into the gas chromatography?mass spectrometry (GC?MS)/MS system. The mass spectrometer was operated using the electrospray ionization and detection was performed in a multiple reaction monitoring mode. Under the established condition, the lower limits of detection was 0.4 ?g/kg for NDMA and 0.1 ?g/kg for NDEA by using 0.1 g of sample. The precision was in the range of 0.4?3.5% for NDMA, and 0.4?3.3% for NDEA, and the accuracy was in the range of 95.0?105% for NDMA and 93.6?103% for NDEA, respectively. The linear equation of the calibration curve is y = 0.0120x???0.0202 (4.0?1080??g/kg, r = 1.000) for NDMA, and y = 0.0144x???0.0042 (0.5?288??g/kg, r = 1.000) for NDEA. The developed method can be applied to all six sartans and one metformin raw materials and their finished products.
