M¨ossbauer Studies of the N50 Permanent Magnet
임정태,김현규,김철성,Sung Yong An,Kang Ryong Choi,한은주 한국물리학회 2015 THE JOURNAL OF THE KOREAN PHYSICAL SOCIETY Vol.66 No.12
The crystal and the magnetic properties of the N50 permanent magnet, which is widely used in industrial applications, have been studied by using x-ray diffractometer (XRD), vibrating sample magnetometer (VSM), and M¨ossbauer spectrometer. The crystal structure was determined to be tetragonal with a Nd-Fe-B structure. Based on the M-T curves, the values of spin reorientation temperature (TSR) and Curie temperature (TC) were found to be 130 and 600 K, respectively. The M¨ossbauer spectra of N50 showed abrupt changes in the magnetic hyperfine field (Hhf ) and the electric quadrupole shift (EQ) at temperatures around 130 K, indicating a spin reorientation (TSR). From the M¨ossbauer absorption area as a function of the square of the temperature for the N50 permanent magnet, the Debye temperature (D) was found to be D = 414.7 K.

Objectives : The aim of this study was to assess the relationship between metabolic syndrome and erythrocyte deform ability in acute stroke patients. Methods : Among 88 of the recruited patients, 52 were diagnosed as metabolic syndrome. We assessed their general characteristics, risk factors. We compared the assessed variables between metabolic syndrome and control group. We analyzed the relationship between metabolic syndrome and erythrocyte deform ability. We analyzed relationship between cardiovascular risk factors and erythrocyte deformability. Results : The general characteristics waist and hip circumference, waist/hip ratio were higher in metabolic syndrome group. The metabolic syndrome group was also diagnosed with hypertension, DM, and hyperlipidemia more often than the control group. The blood test metabolic syndrome group showed higher triglycerides, total lipids, fasting blood sugar, and 2 hours postprandial plasma glucose level and lower HDL-cholesterol than the control group. There were more patients diagnosed with Dampness-Phlegm in the metabolic syndrome group. There were more patients showing lower erythrocyte deform ability in the metabolic syndrome group. The plasma homocysteine level was negatively correlated with erythrocyte deform ability. Conclusion : The results reconfirmed that the risk factors are more in metabolic syndrome group. The results indicated that metabolic syndrome lead to a lower erythrocyte deform ability in small vessel disease stroke patients. The Plasma homocysteine level was negatively correlated with erythrocyte deform ability.

The crystal and the magnetic properties of (Nd35.00−xDyx)Febal.Cu0.15Co1.50Al0.20Nb0.35B1.00 (wt.%; x = 3.50, 6.00, and 8.00) samples are investigated by using x-ray diffractometer (XRD), vibrating smple magnetometer (VSM), and M¨ossbauer spectrometer. The crystal structure is determined to be tetragonal with the P42/mnm space group. The saturation magnetization (Ms) decreases while the coercivity (Hc) increases with increasing Dy ion concentration. Based on the zero-filed-cooled (ZFC) curves, all the samples show spin reorientation, and the spin-reorientation temperature TSR decreases with increasing Dy ion concentration. The M¨ossbauer spectra measured at 295 K show decreasing < Hhf > with increasing Dy concentration, and the abrupt changes both in the magnetic hyperfine field (Hhf ) and the electric quadrupole shift (EQ) at temperatures around TSR.
