Antibiotics have been routinely used to control the disease of farm-raised animals in the aquaculture facilities without any criterion based on a pharmacokinetic study. This lack of information on the effective usage of antibiotics would have brought the farmers to use excessive and/or less dosages, causing the advent of drug-resistant bacteria as well as economic loss and possible contamination of the local farming area. Until recently, few studies on a detailed manual for the antibiotic usage including chemotherapy procedure, dosage, and treatment schedule of the aquatic antibiotics have been conducted throughout the world. To the worse, there is no available criterion for optimal usage of aquatic antibiotics to control diseases in aquatic farms in this country because every country has its own aquacultural system. Therefore, based on the previous studies on the usage of the various antibiotics, our studies are to focus on the development of optimal method for the detection of various antibiotics on the fate of antibiotics applied to the fish, including absorption, circulation, and secretion physiology. Pharmacokinetic study were to sep up the optimal detective condition against residual antibiotics of fish by HPLC. The grinding pefloxacin for 15 min is most effective in dissolution test and pharmacokinetic parameters. Pharmacokinetic parameters were satisfactory for 15 min-grinding products and they can be explained as one-compartment model.

原發性 後腹膜腫瘍 48例에 對한 臨床的 考察

A clinical and statistical analysis was performed on 48 cases of primary retroperitoneal tumors which were experienced(at the dept. of surgery, presbyterian medical center, Taegu, Korea.) from January 1960 till June 1978. The results were as follows: 1) The age incidence of primary retroperitoneal tumors revealed prevalence under the age of ten and in the 5th decade. 2) In the majority of cases (77%), symptoms had been present for one year or less. 3) The common clinical manifestation at the time of admission in order of frequency was gastrointestinal symptoms in 77%, systemic manifestation in 46% and genitourinary symptoms in 27%. 4) The positive findings of physic-al examination were palpable abdominal mass in 92%, abdominal distension in 25% and abdominal tenderness in 13%. 5) There were 10 benign and 38 malignant tumors. The malignant lymphomas were most frequent in occurrence, while the teratomas were the most frequent tumors of benign histology. The ratio of malignant to benign tumors was 3.8: 1. 6) The clinical diagnosis of retroperitoneal tumors was made by analysis of the clinical symptoms, positive physical findings and special X-ray examinations, such as intravenous pyelography, small and large bowel series with fluoroscopy. 7) 28% of patients were treated with curative resection, others were treated with -biopsy or palliative resection with irradiation ect.

Hard Carbon-coated Natural Graphite Electrodes for High-Energy and Power Lithium-Ion Capacitors

Hard carbon-coated natural graphite materials have been prepared and evaluated as a negative electrode for high-energy and high-power lithium-ion capacitors. The graphite surface was coated with hard carbon by using polyacrylonitrile as a precursor, which was confirmed by X-ray diffraction, Raman spectroscopy, and transmission electron microscopy. The hard carbon coating on natural graphite particles significantly affects the electrochemical characteristics of lithium-ion capacitors. The full-cell using the hard carbon-coated graphite electrode showed much higher energy and power densities than those with pristine natural graphite and hard carbon electrodes, respectively. Furthermore, the hard carbon-coated graphite electrode exhibited an enhanced cycle performance with a capacity retention of 74.6% after 10,000 cycles, higher than those of pristine natural graphite (33.3%) and the mixture of hard carbon and natural graphite (51.4%). The results clearly indicate that the hard carbon-coated graphite electrode is suitable as a negative electrode material for high-energy and high-power lithium-ion capacitors.

유성볼밀을 이용한 난용성 Pefloxacin의 분쇄조작에 의한 입자 설계

Pefloxacin을 15분간 분쇄한 분쇄품에 있어서는 $D_10$, $D_50$ 및 $D_90$은 각각 2.79 $\mu$m, 15.94 $\mu$m 및 39.75 $\mu$m로 나타나 표준품에 비해서 입도가 현저하게 작아짐을 알수 있었으며, 이 보다 분쇄시간이 길어질 경우 입자가 점점 더 커지는 경향을 나타내어 분쇄에 의해 입도가 점점 작아지다가 정점을 지난 후부터는 재응집에 의해 입자가 다시 커지는 경향을 나타냄을 알 수 있었다. 분쇄한 peflocacin의 XRD패턴, 열분석 측정 및 IR-Spectrum 관측 결과 분쇄의 유무와 관계없이 패턴의 양상이 변하지 않음을 알 수 있었으며, 분쇄라는 물리적인 조작에 의해 pefloxacin의 물성과 안정성에는 특이한 변화가 없음을 알 수 있었다. 이상의 결과들은 분쇄에 의한 pefloxacin의 화합물질 변화나 기능의 변화, 원자간의 결합상태, 분자의 구조 등에 있어서 물성적 변화의 차이가 없음을 나타내고 있다. Pefloxacin 표준품에 비해서 분쇄를 하였을 경우 용해도가 개선됨을 알수 있었으며, 특히 15 분간 분쇄한 분쇄품의 경우에 있어서 가장 양호한 용해도 곡선을 얻을 수 있었다. 즉, 난용성 항균제 pefloxacin은 분쇄라는 조작에 의해 입도가 작아지고, 비표면적의 증가로 인한 그 물리적인 특성중의 하나인 용해도가 개선되므로 속효성 제형으로의 전환이 가능함을 시사하였다[1,11]. Grinding aid is a necessary unit operation when the raw materials are handled in solid form, and the purpose is to improve the bioavailability by reducing the particle size. For the particle design of pefloxacin, the dry planetary ball-mill was used. With the drying process, 330 g of zirconia ball with its size of 2 mm in diameter and 10 g of pefloxacin were transferred to the pot and mixed well. The mixture was ground at 112 rpm (60 Hz) for 15, 30, and 60 min, respectively. The most satisfactory grinding products were generated at 15 min of grinding time for their particle size. The volume mean diameter $\X_50$ of the grinding products was 2.97 $\mu$m. X-ray diffraction (XRD), differential scanning calorimeter (DSC), and infrared spectroscopy (IR) patterns were relatively unchanged before pulverizing pefloxacin and in the progress of grinding. Thus, these results suggest that this pulverizing method can be used for grinding products without evident effect on stability of the drug pefloxacin. Dissolution test was carried out to set up the optimal detective condition against residual antibacteria of fish by HPLC. The grinding pefloxacin for 15 min is most effective in dissolution test.

용탕단조한 AZ91 Mg 합금의 시효경화 특성에 관한 연구

The aim of the present study was to investigate age hardening properties of the AZ91 Mg alloy. Rockwell hardness test, energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy, optical microscopy and scanning electron microscopy were performed to identify the age hardening behaviors. The degree of age hardening of AZ91 alloys was changed with the time and temperature of the artificial aging treatment. Higher aging temperature shortened initial aging time and time for reaching the peak hardness, while too high temperature reduced the amount of age hardening. So it is necessary to choose suitable aging temperature and time. It was found that precipitated Mg-Al compound was the age strengthing phase in AZ91 Mg alloy. And hardness increased abruptly at the beginning of intragranular precipitation after intergranular precipitation was nearly saturated.

자동혈구계산기 SE-9000의 IMI channel과 HPC mode의 유용성 평가

Background SE-9000(Sysmex, Japan) automated cell counter provides an estimate of immature cells referred to as heamopoietic progenitor cells (HPC). The purpose of this study was the evaluation of the Heamatology Analyzer, SE-9000 IMI(lmmature cell information) channel, HPC mode. Method 140 peripheral blood stem cell collections were achieved from the stem cell collection room. The linearity and precision of HPC and 1M! count and the correlation of the HPC count and CD 34+ stem cell count in peripheral blood stem cell collections. Result : The linearities of 1M! and HPC for SE-9000 was r=0.9878 and r=0.9592 each. The cefficients of vareations for 1MI and HPC of SE-9000 were : for HPC(low), 114.2%; for HPC(medium), 37.9%; for HPC(lrigh), 17.9%; for IMI(low), 56.5%; for 1MI (medium), 21.9%; for 1MI (high) , 31.4% respedtively. 1MI and HPC count showed the positive correlation with CD 34+ stem cell count with the correlation coefficients of 0.6633. Conclusion π1e SE-9000 enables the easy and rapid determination of the IMI and HPC count. the 1M! and HPC count shows good correlation with CD 34+ stema cell count by ISHAGE guideline using Flowcytometry. Whereas CD 34+ stem cell count is expensive and examined for long time. The 1M! and HPC count of SE-9000 is clinically useful for monitoring the peripheral blood stem cell count.
