        서양미학과 달리 동양미학은 인간과 자연의 조화를 이룰 수 있는 다양한 방법을 연구함에 따라 다양한 미적 체험과 요소를 나타낸다. 미의 대상, 표현, 자율성, 형식, 내용, 체험의 문제를 치유자와 환자의 관계, 인식, 소통, 대화, 신뢰, 치유의 관점에서 보면, 최고의 미적 체험은 치유자와 환자의‘공명(共鳴)’임을 알 수 있다. 동양미학사상의 핵심인‘무위자연(無爲自然)’과‘소요유(逍遙遊)’의 두 개념을 축으로 미적 요소가 어떻게 건강과 생명, 양생과 치유와 연결되는지 그 핵심적 요소를‘중화(中和)’에두고 미와 예술, 건강과 생명, 양생과 치유의 관계를 살펴보고, 더 나아가 이러한 제반 미적 범주들이 미술치료에 있어서 어떻게 적용할 수 있으며, 의료미학의 가능성이 가능한지를 치유자와 환자와의‘공명(共鳴)’을 통해 이루어짐을 제시하였다. (임상미술치료학연구2007;2(2):129-152) Apart from the western aesthetics, in the oriental aesthetics where a variety of methods to achieve the harmony of human being and nature are explored, it is possible to express a great number of aesthetic experiences and elements. In case the issues of subject matter of beauty, expression, autonomy, type, contents, experience are viewed from the aspect of relation between curer and patient, recognition, mutual understanding, communication, confidence and curing, it is apparent that the best aesthetic experience is ‘Resonance’ between curer and patient. In this study, having the cores of oriental aesthetic idea-‘Letting Nature Be’ and ‘Free State of Mind’ as its main axis, how the aesthetic elements relate with health & life, regimen & healing was explored. To do this, such critical element was focused on ‘neutralization’ where the relation between beauty and art, health and life, and regimen and curing was investigated, and further, how such overall aesthetic categories can be applied to the art healing method, and whether the possibility of the medical aesthetics exists or not were suggested through the proof obtained from the ‘resonance’ between curer and patient.         고통의 의미화 연구

        The purpose of this study is to explore the theoretical basis that can express the humanity of the dying person by reflecting on the meaning of suffering that can be subsided by medical treatment and drug prescription. If the suffering is derived from a verbal-representational cause, the healing must also be resolved by the verbal-representational cause. In order to reduce suffering at the time of death and to deliver reconciliation, forgiveness, and love, and to leave with love, the meaning-making process that they can ‘reasonably understand, express and symbolize their suffering in an appropriate language’ must be activated. Therefore, we intend to explore the language-representation of suffering in the meaning-making process for ‘rational understanding and appropriate word representation’. The theoretical basis of meaning-making (language-representation) is Husserl’s ‘reconstruction of consciousness’ and ‘synthesis of time’, and Freud’s ‘Nachträglichkeit’. The basis of these two theories is that all human mental mechanisms using language are always operated with two images (binary signifiers), and the structure is ‘reconstruction of temporal consciousness (past-present-future)’ and ‘integration deferred memory-traces’. Therefore, it is possible to recover the existentiality of humanity by shifting from body-physical treatment to meaning-volitional value orientation. When this happens, the dying person can reduce suffering by articulating his or her suffering with appropriate verbal representations. In the end, suffering leads to reconciliation and forgiveness, which are other names for religiosity and spirituality.
