Rotary swaging is a method of forging automotive drive shafts. In this paper, we propose a new two-hammer forging technique by applying the problem-solving approach TRIZ to improve the efficiency and productivity of the rotary swaging automation process. We will simplify the materials and hammers via the 3D modeling tool SolidWorks for high accuracy of a comparative analysis of existing and proposed methods under the same boundary conditions. In addition, we will compare the stress trends of the proposed model using ANSYS Workbench and verify the feasibility through a comparison of the simulation results using DEFORM. Relative to the existing method, the proposed method can decrease production costs and improve efficiency of the automation process by reducing the power source.

한국과 몽골 공동 학술발굴조사단은 몽골 치헤르틴 저 흉노 무덤군에서 2016년에 2기와 2017년에 4기의 원형 적석 무덤을 조사하였다. 2016-1호 무덤과 2017-1호 무덤은 치헤르틴 저 흉노 무덤군에서뿐만 아니라 원형 적석 무덤 중에서도 외부 적석의 직경으로 볼 때 초대형에 속한다. 외부 적석의 규모가 클수록 묘광이 깊어지고, 목곽의 규모도 커져 기존의 연구 성과를 반영하고 있었다. 배장묘와 마차는 지금까지 귀족무덤으로 추정되는 방형 적석 무덤에서 확인되었으나, 원형 적석 무덤인 2017-1호 무덤은 2기의 배장묘가 조성되어 있으며 목곽 상부에 마차 바퀴를 부장한 최초의 사례라 할 수 있다. 치헤르틴 저에서 조사된 원형 적석 흉노 무덤의 피장자는 무덤의 구조적 특징과 마차 바퀴 등 부장품으로 볼 때 흉노 사회에서 어느 정도 지위를 갖추었거나 지방의 부족장 등과 같은 사람의 무덤일 가능성이 높을 것으로 추정된다. 한편 몽골 전역에 분포하고 있는 흉노 무덤은 대략 기원전 1세기에서 기원후 1세기에 축조되었던 것으로 파악되고 있었지만, 청동촉과 골촉의 형태로 보아 기원전 2세기경에 흉노 무덤이 축조되었을 가능성이 높아 흉노 초창기 문화의 공백을 메울 수 있는 자료라고 판단된다. Korea-Mongolia Scientific Excavation Research Group investigated two circular Xiongnu stone tombs in 2016 and four in 2017 at Chikhertyn Zoo. The diameter of the exterior stone mound makes Tomb No. 2016-1 and Tomb No. 2017-1 to be the largest circular stone tombs of all Xiongnu Tombs of Chikhertyn Zoo and circular stone tombs overall. The larger the exterior stone mound, the deeper the tomb, and the larger the wooden chamber, supporting the findings from previous research. Satellite burials near the main tomb and carriages have been identified with the square-shaped stone tombs associated with the nobility so far. In Tomb No. 2017-1, however, there are two satellite burials near the main tomb and carriage wheels on the top of the wooden chamber. These are the first cases to be found in circular stone tombs. The structure of the tomb and the grave goods including carriage wheels all support the hypothesis that the person buried in the circular stone tomb at Chikhertyn Zoo is of a higher status in Xiongnu or a regional tribal chief. Xiongnu tombs throughout Mongolia have been thought to have the construction dates approximately from 1st century BC to 1st century AD. Bronze arrowheads and bone arrowheads, however, make it highly possible that Xiongnu tombs were constructed from the 2nd century BC. This site provides important data to fill the gap in the archaeology of early Xiongnu culture.
A Study on the Development of Hall Effect Sensor for Hydraulic Locking Alarm in Ship’s Steering Gear

The LVDT (Linear Variable Displacement Transducer) type sensor used for the existing ship"s steering gear is simple on / off that does not perform proportional control operation to the control & unloading device. When the main spool is located at both extremes, It is reflected in the price by using an expensive sensor for import. In this paper, the Hall Effect Sensor is applied to Hydraulic Locking Alarm to analyze classification rules, structure, characteristics and operation principle of valves, and research on localization development in terms of cost reduction. The comparative analysis of the existing prototypes and the cause analysis of the problems were carried out, and the structural analysis showed satisfactory results within the allowable stress range. In addition, it was verified through experiments that the actual operation is realized by applying the actual developed product, and it was confirmed that the load on the maximum value exceeds the allowable maximum load even in the case of the universal tensile test in preparation for the departure of the rod casing.

Considering the shape of a valve plate in design is important for reducing the pulsation phenomenon, which is a negative factor in pump performance. The purpose of this study is to propose an optimized method for a valve-plate V-type notch of a piston pump by modeling and simulation. The method uses SimulationX<SUP>Ⓡ</SUP>, a commercial hydraulic analysis program, and to provide data for the designing of the notch. The opening areas are determined by performing kinematic analysis of the notch part where the opening area changes rapidly. After applying the result analysis, the main effects on maximum pressure pulsation and maximum backflow according to the notch design factors are analyzed by using the full factorial method of experimental design. The optimized solutions are derived for the notch design variables, based on the analyzed data.
