상지 에탄올 추출물이 Lanolin 식이성 토끼 동맥경화증에 미치는 영향에 관한 조직화학적 연구

The present studies were undertaken in an attempt to investigate the effects of ethanol extract of Morus bombycis stem on lanolin-induced atherosclerosis rabbit. The experimental animals were divided into four groups and treated as follows: the first group served as normal control group; and the second group was fed lanolin (3.5g/㎏. body wt./day) alone for 3 weeks; the third group was fed lanolin and the ethanol extract of Morus bombycis stem (500 ㎎/㎏. body wt./day) simultaneously for 3 weeks; the fourth group was fed lanolin for 2 weeks followed by the ethanol extract of Morus bombycis stem for 2 weeks. During the experimental period, serum total cholesterol, free cholesterol and triglyceride were measured. All experimental animals were sacrificed after feeding of lanolin or/and the ethanol extract of Morus bombycis stem. The specimens were taken from the ascending aorta of each animal and stained histochemically for microscopic examination of morphological changes in elastic fiber, lipid deposition, acid rnucopolysaccharide accumulation and calcification. The following results were obtained: 1. The group, fed lanolin alone, showed marked increase of the serum total cholesterol, free cholesterol and triglyceride resulting in hypercholesterolemia. The aorta showed severe degree of alteration of eastic fibers, increase of acid mucopolysaccharides and lipid depositions resulting in atheroma. 2. The group, fed lanolin and the ethanol extract of Morus bombycis stem simultaneously, showed no changes in serum lipid and structure of aorta as in the normal control group. 3. The group, fed lanolin and then the ethanol extract of Morus bombycis stem, showed mild hypecholesterolemia in camparing with the lanolin alone administered group. It also showed slight changes in elastic fibers, acid mucopolysaccharides and lipid deposition in comparing with the lanolin alone administered group. No calcification was observed. 4. In reviewing the above results the ethanol extracts of Morus bombycis stem seems to reduce or inhibit and lanolin-induced hypercholesterolemia and lanolin-induced atheroma in rabbits. These reduction and inhibition effects of Morus bombycis ethanol extract appeared to depend upon two mechanism. The first may be due to its depressing action on lipid deposition, acid mucopolysaccharide accumulation and its regeneration of elastic fibers. The second also may be due to inhibition of the cholesterol absorption and acceleration of cholesterol metabolism and excretion.

This studies were carried out to identify the characteristics of the tongue of Korean native goat(Capra hircus) by macroscopy, microscopy and scanning microscopy. Korean native goat had torus linguae, median lingual sulcus, lingual fossa and ventral median fissure but did not have glossoepiglottic fold and terminal sulcus in the tongue. The whole length of tongue was $11.51{\pm}0.76cm$. The length of tongue apex, tongue body, tongue root and the torus linguae were $2.62{\pm}0.28$, $7.39{\pm}0.27$, $1.56{\pm}0.26$ and $6.37{\pm}0.29cm$, respectively. The width of tongue apex, torus linguae and tongue root were $3.41{\pm}0.24$, $3.74{\pm}0.29$ and $3.68{\pm}0.11$, respectively. The thickness of tongue apex was $1.60{\pm}0.10$, and the height of torus linguae was $1.52{\pm}0.15cm$. Filiform papillae were present at the tongue apex and the tongue body rostral to torus linguae. Fungiform papillae were scattered from tongue apex to rostral portion of torus linguae, being in abundance at the tongue apex. Vallate papillae were showed at the lateral portion of torus linguae, while lentiform papillae were present at its central portion. Conical papillae were located between vallate and lentiform papillae. The numbers of filiform, fungiform, conical, vallate and lentiform papillae were $46,980{\pm}1070.98$, $446.8{\pm}36.97$, $818.4{\pm}43.99$, $34.8{\pm}2.77$, and $255.6{\pm}39.30$, respectively. The average numbers of taste bud were $8.3{\pm}2.04$ in a fungiform papilla and $247.3{\pm}37.44$ in a vallate papilla. The filiform papilla had secondary and tertiary papillae. The height of filiform papilla was about $150{\mu}m$ and the diameter was $100{\mu}m$. The diameters of fungiform papillae were 350 to $550{\mu}m$. The long and short diameters of maximum-sized lentiform papilla were 4000 and $3000{\mu}m$, respectively, while those of minimum-sized papilla were 700 and $600{\mu}m$, respectively. The height of conical papillae was 450 to $600{\mu}m$ and diameter was 250 to $450{\mu}m$. The vallate papilla was round or oval in shape and its diameter was 500 to $850{\mu}m$. It had well-developed papillary groove around itself. The modified conical papillae were not observed in the tongue of Korean native goat.

지난 9월10일부터 3일간 중국 북경에서 열린 제14차 국제형태학심포지엄엔 30여개국에서 6백여명의 학자들이 참석했고 우리나라에선 28명이 참가하여 24편의 논문을 발표했다. 이번 심포지엄에선 연세의대 박경아교수가 유창한 영어로 진행을 맡아 인기를 끌었고 가톨릭의대 한승호교수 등이 논문을 발표했으며 아주대 이제만교수가 '손금에 의한 유전진단'을 포스터로 발표해 관심을 모았다.
한국재래산양 혀에 분포하는 신경전달물질에 관한 면역조직화학적 연구

This study was performed to identify the localization of several neuropeptides; calcitonin gene-related peptide(CGRP), substance P(SP), vasoactive intestinal polypeptide(VIP), neuropeptide Y(NPY), serotonin(5-HT) and neurotensin in the tongue of Korean native goat(Capra hircus) by immunohistochemical method. The results were summarized as follows: CGRP- and SP-immunoreactive fibers were observed as moderate immunoreactivity at the subepithelial plexus and subgemmal fibers in lamina propria of lingual papillae, but not seen in intragemmal, intergemmal, perigemmal fibers as well as in the supporting, basal and taste cells. Fibers around the acinus of the von Ebner's gland and blood vessels showed weak immunoreactivities against CGRP and SP. In the intrinsic ganglion cells, CGRP- and SP-immunoreactivities were not observed. The distribution patterns of VIP- and NPY-immunoreactive fibers were similar to CGRP-or SP-immunoreactive fibers, but their immunoreactivities were stronger than those of CGRP- or SP immunoreactive fibers. The immunoreactivities to VIP or NPY were seen in the intrinsic ganglion. Only a few serotonin immunoreactive fibers were seen in some filiform or fungiform papillae. Neurotensin immunoreactivity was not observed in the tongue of Korean native goat.
