        ‘내’가 범인이다 ― 모파상의 오를라 다시 읽기

        The purpose of this study is to analyze and reinterpret several motifs appearing in “The Horla" of Guy de Maupassant. In “The Horla”, there are ‘objects’ that appear repeatedly. This article is designed according to the detailed plan of the protagonist, ‘I’. If you reclassify the ‘events’ of this novel in a logical order, it can be seen that there is an error in the flow of the story. If you read “The Horla” again based on the reconstructed plot, you can find that ‘I’ kept a diary with hidden intentions. The problem is that ‘I’’s narrative is both conscious and unconscious. By looking at objects that are consciously placed based on the law of entropy, you can find the direction of the ‘I’’s unconscious. Based on this direction, this study analyzes how the stigma and the frame that ‘I’ exerts on the ‘people’ around him have an effect on the reader.

        Recurrence of Melanoma After Initial Treatment: Diagnostic Performance of FDG PET in Posttreatment Surveillance

        Purpose In malignant melanoma, recurrence is often observed in distant areas from the primary site. While FDG PET is asensitive imaging for detecting malignant lesions, the role of FDG PET in posttreatment surveillance period has not beeninvestigated sufficiently. The aim of this study was to evaluate the value of PET during posttreatment surveillance in melanoma. Methods A total of 76 melanoma patients who underwent FDG PET during surveillance period after completion of the firsttreatment were retrospectively enrolled. PET scans were grouped according to the purpose and clinical situations, routinesurveillance, or evaluating clinical suspicion. Final diagnosis of recurrence was determined by complete clinical evaluation orlong-term follow-up. In each situation, the diagnostic role of FDG PET was assessed. Results A total of 143 scans of 76 patients were analyzed: 51 for clinical suspicion and 92 for routine surveillance. In the clinicalsuspicion group, PET correctly diagnosed non-recurrence in 10 cases (20%). In routine surveillance group, 16 cases (17%)presented recurrence, all of which was correctly diagnosed on PET. NPVand PPV were 100% and 76%, respectively. In subgroupanalysis, sensitivity and NPV were higher in the low-risk group (stages I–IIA) than in the high-risk group (stages IIB–IV), whilespecificity and PPV were higher in the high-risk group. Conclusion In conclusion, FDG PET is an effective diagnostic tool in posttreatment surveillance of melanoma. Even in caseswithout clinical suspicion, melanoma recurs in a considerable proportion of patients, which can be sensitively diagnosed on PET.

        사회불안과 미소지각: 신호탐지이론의 적용

        The present study examined the effect of social anxiety on perception of Duchenne smile by applying a signal detection theory. Two hundred and thirty one undergraduate students completed measures of social anxiety and depression. Based on total social anxiety scores, subjects who were in the upper 20% were selected to be in the high social anxiety group, and those who were in lower 20% were selected to be in the low social anxiety group. In the experiment, 34 subjects (19 subjects in the high social anxiety group and 15 subjects in the low social anxiety group) participated. After 20 videos of smiling individuals (10 Duchenne smiles and 10 non-Duchenne smiles) were presented, participants were asked to discriminate whether the smile was genuine(Duchenne) or fake(non-Duchenne). Then, to control the effect of the attractiveness of the smiling individuals on the perceptions of the Duchenne smile, the attractiveness of each individual was measured. The results showed a significant difference in response bias between the high social anxiety group and the low social anxiety group. However, the difference between the groups was not significant when the levels of depression symptoms were controlled. The results suggest that people with high social anxiety tend to judge Duchenne smiles as fake smiles, though it does not seem to be a feature unique feature to individuals with social anxiety. 본 연구에서는 미소를 지각하는 데 사회불안이 미치는 영향을 신호탐지이론을 적용하여 알아보고자 하였다. 231명의 대학생을 대상으로 사회불안과 우울을 측정하였고, 사회불안 점수를 토대로 상·하위 20%를 고사회·저사회불안 집단으로 분류하였다. 이 중 총 34명(고사회불안 19명, 저사회불안 15명)의 피험자가 실험에 참가하였다. 실험 자극은 중립적 표정의 인물이 미소를 보이고 다시 중립적 표정으로 돌아오는 약 4초간의 영상이었다. 뒤상느(진짜)/논뒤상느(거짓) 미소 각 10개씩 총 20개의 얼굴 영상이 자극으로 제시되었다. 참가자들은 이 영상을 보고 그 인물의 미소가 진짜 미소인지 혹은 거짓 미소인지를 평정하였다. 실험 결과, 고사회불안집단이 저사회불안집단에 비해 뒤상느 미소를 거짓 미소로 판단하는 반응 편향이 있는 것으로 나타났다. 그러나 함께 측정한 우울을 공변인으로 통제할 경우 반응 편향의 유의성은 사라졌다. 이는 사회불안이 높은 사람들이 뒤상느 미소를 거짓 미소라고 판단하는 경향이 높음을 시사한다. 그러나, 그것이 사회불안 특정적인 것이라기보다는 우울과 공유하는 특성일 가능성이 시사된다.

        비구 골절에서 인공 고관절 전치환술의 적용: 급성기와 지연기

        The incidence of acetabular fractures in the elderly has increased because of the increasing elderly population. To determine the treatment plan for acetabular fractures, the patient’s age, gait ability, presence or absence of osteoporosis and osteoarthritis, underlying disease, and fracture pattern should be considered. The application of total hip arthroplasty for acetabular fractures with the proper indications can be expected to have a good prognosis. In this paper, the application of total hip arthroplasty as a treatment method for acetabular fractures is divided into acute and delayed phases. 최근 노인 인구가 증가함에 따라 노인의 비구 골절 발생 빈도 또한 증가하고 있다. 이러한 비구 골절의 치료 계획을 결정하기 위해서 환자의 나이, 보행 능력, 골다공증 및 골관절염의 유무, 동반된 기저 질환, 골절의 형태 등을 참고해야 한다. 적절한 적응증을 바탕으로 한 비구 골절의 치료로써, 인공 고관절 전치환술을 적용하는 것은 좋은 예후를 기대할 수있다. 이 논문에서는 비구 골절의 치료 방법으로 인공 고관절전치환술의 적용을 급성기와 지연기, 각각의 경우로 나누어이에 대해 논의하도록 하겠다.

        Anti-influenza Effect of Cordyceps militaris through Immunomodulation in a DBA/2 Mouse Model

        The immune-modulatory as well as anti-influenza effects ofCordyceps extract were investigated using a DBA/2 mousemodel. Three different concentrations of Cordyceps extract,red ginseng extract, or drinking water were orally administeredto mice for seven days, and then the mice were intranasallyinfected with 2009 pandemic influenza H1N1 virus. Body weight changes and survival rate were measured dailypost-infection. Plasma IL-12, TNF-α, and the frequency ofnatural killer (NK) cells were measured on day 4 post-infection. The DBA/2 strain was highly susceptible to H1N1 virusinfection. We also found that Cordyceps extract had an antiinfluenzaeffect that was associated with stable body weightand reduced mortality. The anti-viral effect of Cordycepsextract on influenza infection was mediated presumably byincreased IL-12 expression and greater number of NK cells. However, high TNF-α expression after infection of H1N1virus in mice not receiving treatment with Cordyceps extractsuggested a two-sided effect of the extract on host immuneregulation.

      • Comparison between Simulations and Observations Focused on Upflow Area in Active Region

        We use three-dimensional magnetohydrodynamic (MHD) simulations of flux emergence from solar subsurface to corona. In our previous work, we reported the relation between magnetic-field configuration and the flux expansion factor. Following these results, we investigate where an upflow is generated in an active region and how its location is related to the flux expansion factor. We also derive physical quantities of a real active region from observation data provided by Nobeyama Radioheliograph (NoRH), X-Ray Telescope (XRT), and Extreme Ultraviolet Imaging Spectrometer (EIS) onboard Hinode. These physical quantities are plasma density, temperature and flow. By comparing the simulation result and observational one, we will discuss the properties of the location producing a solar wind.
