A total of 32 cases of spontaneous intracerebral hematoma caused by hypertension and unknown origin is surgically treated and reviewed. Thirty two cases comprised 22 males and 10 females with a ratio of 2.2 too 1. The age ranged from 30 to 61 years with the highest incidence at 5th and 6th decades. The most important one as to prognosis is the level of consciousness, and the age per se does not influence significantly to the mortality or morbidity. Surgical exploration is better, attempted when the clinical features denote a space occupying lesion.

The primary sarcomas of the brain have been considered rare and occur mostly in infants and children. We report one case of primary sarcoma which was diagnosed as a huze intracerebral honiatoma in the left parietote nporal area with a case history and angiographic findings. Flow ever, the operative findings and histopathological report confirmed a primary sarcoma of the brain belonging to unknown type in. Abbott and Kernohan's classification. The tumor was extended into the leptomeninges and the Virchow Robin spaces, invading the cerebral parenchyma with intracetebral hematoma in the left parieto-temporal area. Dura was not invaded by the sarcoma. This is a case of primary sarcoma arising from the leptomeninges in the brain.
Colchicine 독성에 따른 골격근의 형태학적 변화에 관한 연구 : 막성소체 출현에 관한 전자현미경적 검색 Electron Microscopic Study

To investigate the morphological changes in skeletal muscle produced by colchicine toxicity, 42 rats were given a single intraperitoneal dose(0.4mg/kg) of colchicine, and the animals were killed at daily intervals up to 7 days. The results of light microscopic and electron microscopic observations are summarized as follows : 1) At the light microscopic level, colchicine treated rats show non-inflammatory, nonspecific scattered degeneration or necrosis of myofibers irrrspective of location of the skeletal muscle. No significant pathologic changes in peripheral nerve fibers distributed in affected muscles are seen.2) The general ultrastructural changes are dilation of sarcoplasmic reticulum, swelling and pleomorphism of mitochondria, and appearance of membraneous bodies characterized by a single or multiple concentric layers of membranes in subsarcolemmal zones and intermyosbrillar zones, and focal necrosis or loss of myofibrils. The incidence and severity of these changes show gradual increase and reach maximal peak 3 days after colchicine administration, and then they show gradual decrease. Nerve fibers and motor-end plates show no difference compared with the control. 3) The observations are consistent with the opinion that the muscle weakness or paresis produced by toxic dose of colchicine is not of neuropathic, but of myopathic alterations. 4) The membraneous bodies are classified into the following 3 types : Type Ⅰ is those bodies outlined by a few concentric membranes with osmiophilic granules, small vesicles, free ribosomes, and mitochondria in central zone. Type Ⅱ is those outlined by several concentric layers of membranes with osmiophilic gradules, small vesicles, free ribosomes, and mitochondria in center. Type Ⅲ is those outlined by multilayered or thick concentric membranes with osmiophilic granules, small vesicles, free ribosomes, and mitochondria in central zone, frequently with complicated lamellar structures. 5) The skeletal muscle lesions produred by colchicine toxicity may be categorized into those degenerative changes characterized by the appearance of membraneous bodies. And, morphologically, it is presumed that the membraneous bodies are heterogenous in origin, alterations of subcellular structures such as sarcoplasmic reticulum, mitochondria, and lysosome.

This paper describes the design theories and analyzes the theoretical frequency characteristics of New-type power divider that is compensated with microstripline for CATV/MATV systems. Furthermore, the practical measurements of the frequency characteristics for each fabricated circuit have been carried out and compared with the theoretical results. Especially, the frequency characteristics for the original Wilkinson-type power divider has been analyzed theoretically and has been improved by adding a matching transformer to the original one.

A design method of the new 7λ/6-branch line 3dB directional coupler using fundamental λ/12-section is proposed and their frequency characteristics are analyzed. Furthermore, the experimental verification has been achieved in microstrip network and hence, the validity of the design method of a microwave component with the basic λ/12-section proposed in this paper is confirmed.

본 44세 남자환자로 내원 12개월 전부터 성욕감퇴, 20일 전부터 식욕 감퇴, 오심, 구토를 주소로 입원했다. 내원 당시 탈수현상을 보였으며 2일후 의식이 변화(혼미)와 한차례의 대발작증세를 보였다. 뇨와 혈청 소견상 혈중 나트륨치가 100mEq/L, 혈중 Cortisol치가 1.1mEq/24hrs, 요비중은 변동이 있었으나 1.004까지 보였고, 그 외는 정상범위였다. 단순두개골 방사선학적 소견으로는 터키 안장부위가 커져있고 부분결손을 보였으며 뇌 전산화 단층 촬영 소견으로는 터어키 안장상부 및 왼쪽에 팽대된 뇌하수체종양을 보였다. 수술요법과 방사선요법을 받았으며, 현재 투약없이 비교적 안정된 일상생활을 영위하고 있다.
Mycoplasma Pneumoniae 감염이 마우스 소교세포의 증식, 탐식능과 Nitric Oxide 생성에 미치는 영향

In this study, the distribution and reisolation of Mycoplasma pneumoniae(Mp) were observed from the various tissues of BALB/c mice which were intraperitoneally pre-inoculated with Mp. In addition, the effect of Mp on the growt, phagocytic activitie, and nitric oxide production of microglial cells were also examined. The results were as follows : 1) Mp was reisolated from the various tissues such as lymph node, spleen, liver, kidney, brain, and blood from one hour through 48 hours after intra-peritoneal inoculation of Mp in mice by the cultural method. Furthermore, it could also be confirmed from those tissues up to 72 hours by the indirect immunofluorescent antibody method. 2) There was no difference in the phagocytic activities between the control microglial cells and Mp stimulated microglial cells. 3) The growth of microglial cells in the medium was significantly increased by the stimulation with Mp compared with that of the control. 4) Nitric oxide production of mouse microglial cells was increased by the combined treatment if IFN-r and LPS or IFN-r and Mp or IFN-r LPS and Mp. whereas no increase was observed by either LPS or Mp alone. 5) Nitric oxide production of microglial cells primed with IFN-r was closely related with the dose of LPS and Mp in the dose dependent manner rather than that of the IFN-r. These results suggest that ; ⅰ) Mp spreads to the various tissues of mice within one hour after intraperitoneal inoculation, ⅱ) the growth of microglial ce11s increases by the infection of Mp, ⅲ) microglial cells have phagocytic activities to C albicans and ⅳ) nitric oxide production of microglial cells was augmented by the infection of Mp. Increased nitric oxide production of microglial cells is regarded as an increase of the intracellular bactericidal activiteis of microglial cells. It is suggested, nonetheless, that the inflammatory response of the Mp infected tissues is augmented by the increase of nitric oxide.
