The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of science teaching using ARCS strategies on elementary pupils' teaming motivation and academic achievement. For this purpose, 67 children of 2 classes in the 5th grade of an elementary school were involved, and each class was assigned to experimental and comparison group. The experimental group, consisting of 33 children, were applied with the teaching method using ARCS strategies, while the comparison group, 34 children, were applied with traditional-type teaching method. The instruction effects were analyzed through pre/post-test's results using the questionnaires of loaming motivation and academic achievement. The results of this study are summarized as follows. After science lessons, it was found that the teaching method using ARCS strategies was more effective in improving learners' motives of teaming science and academic achievements than traditional instructions. And the instruction using ARCS strategies was effective to the children who were in low and middle level in academic achievement compared to those in high level.
전방 외측 대퇴 유리 피판을 접어서 시행한 혀 재건의 증례 보고

Tongue reconstruction after oncologic resection with free flap is important to conserve function and shape. Vertical rectus myocutaneous free flap is usually used for total tongue reconstruction, but our patient was thin and primary closure after flap elevation seemed hard. So we used anterolateral thigh free flap to reduce donor site morbidity and to maintain bulk of the tongue as much as possible. Deepithelization of both middle side of flap and folding was done to mimic normal tongue base's shape and volume. Flap survived without complication and patient underwent concurrent chemoradiation therapy three weeks after surgery. Anterolateral thigh free flap can be good candidate for total tongue reconstruction especially in thin patient.

Recurrent Aphthous Stomatitis(RAS) is inflammatory ulcerative condition of the oral mucosa. The lesions of RAS are self-limited and persist for 1 to 2 weeks, resolved with or without scarring and recurred after periods of remission. It is known that nicotine may protect oral mucosa from aphthous ulcers by keratinization of the oral mucosa. After quitting smoking, a stroke patient who suffered from RAS, used to relapse into RAS unless he didn't gargle with nicotine extract water. We diagnosed his case as heat in the stomach and treated with Chungwie-San(Qingwei-San). After medication with Chungwie-San, RAS was subsided and he stopped smoking during admission period.

A Plug-In Hybrid Excavator is composed of an electric motor to drive a hydraulic pump, a battery to generate electrical energy and an auxiliary engine/generator to charge a battery. It is designed to work by consuming the electrical energy of a battery. In this system, when the battery SOC drops below a certain range, a auxiliary engine/generator charges the battery. In the case of Series Hybrid system, there is a disadvantage that the energy conversion loss is relatively large. To overcome the disadvantage, the power distribution mechanism by using the Dual-Mode Hybrid system is proposed in this paper. The Dual-Mode Hybrid system operates in two modes: input split mode and compound split mode. The former has an advantage in a low workload range while the latter has an advantage in a high workload range. In this paper, the Series Hybrid system and the Dual-Mode Hybrid system are modeled and the simulation is conducted to verify the feasibility of the power distribution mechanism. The simulation results show that the performance by the Dual-Mode Hybrid system is improved compared with a series type plug-in hybrid excavator.
