Objectives: This study reports on the efficacy of treating patients with general weakness symptoms with Korean medicine. Methods: Two patients with general weakness symptoms were treated with Korean medical treatment modalities, including acupuncture, moxibustion, and herbal medicines. Blood tests, the visual analogue scale (VAS), and patients' complaints were used to assess the treatment effects. Results and Conclusions: dehydroepiandrosterone sulphate (DHEAS), DHEAS/cortisol index, VAS, and the patients' complaints improved after treatment. Korean medical treatment is effective in improving DHEAS and the DHEAS/cortisol index according to the improvements in the patients' conditions. However, more studies are required to validate its use with other patients.

Purpose – This study aims to examine and compare the opinions of social media users on the Boryeong Mud Festival, which has experience in holding face-to-face festivals before Covid-19 and non-face-to-face festivals afterwards. Design, data, and methodology – Using Textom, social media data were text-mined for the Boryeong Mud Festival, two years before and after Covid-19. Based on the collected data, TF and TF-IDF analysis, Degree Centrality, and LDA topic modeling were performed. Result – The 'where' was important for the face-to-face festival, while there were many comments on 'how' to participate for the non-face-to-face festival. For companion, the face-to-face festival were mainly 'friend', while the non-face-to-face festival were 'children'. Conclusions – It can be seen that the interest in non-face-to-face festivals have decreased since COVID-19. In order to hold a non-face-to-face festival, evaluations of festivals from the past and specific plans must be made thoroughly. Therefore, this study is meaningful in comparing and examining data so that non-face-to-face festivals can be prepared with differentiation from face-to-face festivals, and using these as basic data to prepare for non-face-to-face festivals. However further research was suggested so that data collection can be balanced and sentiment analysis for each word would be necessary.

A participating in festival program makes the participants feel the locality of the community and learn about the natural environment that cannot be experienced indoors. Recently, elementary school students tend to take advantage of these local festivals as they have more opportunities to have field trips. However, The educational effects through experience-immersion have not been studied much. Therefore, it is time to find out what educational effects the children who have immersed in the festival programs have and to use the information to improve the quality of local festivals. In order to achieve the purpose of study, literature review and empirical analysis were conducted. To perform the survey the Muju Firefly Festival was selected through random sampling method among the Culture & Tourism Festivals of 2019. The children were limited to elementary school students who had experienced this festival program. Based on the hypothesis test, The factors of the festival program had bigger influence in the order of entertainment characteristics, locality, and educational effect. In addition, in the analysis of the influence relationship between the festival program and the educational effect shows that the entertainment factor of the festival program has a significant influence on all factors of the educational effect. In other words, it was verified that the entertainment characteristic of the festival program was closely related to the educational effect for children.

Objectives This study aimed to evaluate the effect of Samryungbaekchul-san on childhood anorexia. Methods We searched 11 English, Korean, Chinese, and Japanese databases for studies published up to May 30, 2022. Randomized controlled trials (RCTs) assessing the effect of Samryungbaekchul-san on childhood anorexia were included. In the meta-analysis, relative risk (RR) and 95% confidence intervals (CI) were indicated as dichotomous variables, and mean difference (MD) or standardized mean difference (SMD) and 95% CIs were indicated as continuous variables. Results We included 12 RCTs with 1345 participants. The Samryungbaekchul-san treatment group had a significantly higher total effective rate (TER) than that of the western medicine control group (RR 1.42, 95% CI 1.23–1.64, I 2 = 0%). The combined Samryungbaekchul-san and western medicine treatment group had significantly higher TER (RR 1.31, 95% CI 1.23 to 1.40, I2 = 0%) and levels of neuropeptide Y (SMD 0.93, 95% CI 0.47–1.39, I 2 = 70%) and ghrelin (SMD 1.45, 95% CI 1.14–1.76, I2 = 0%) than those of the western medicine alone group. Additionally, leptin levels were significantly lower in the combined treatment group (SMD -1.19, 95% CI -1.88 to -0.51, I2 = 86%) compared with the western medicine alone group, although statistical heterogeneity was substantial. Conclusions Samryungbaekchul-san may be effective for childhood anorexia. However, owing to limitations such as high clinical heterogeneity between the studies, unclear risks of biases, and insufficient reports of adverse events and follow-ups, well-designed RCTs with a low risk of bias are needed in the future.

Objectives : This study's aim is to investigate clinical studies of cold hypersensitivity of hands and feet (CHHF) published in Korea and to explore the direct of future research. Methods : We searched clinical studies of CHHF using the database, such as DBpia(http://www.dbpia.co.kr/), NDSL(www.ndsl.kr), OASIS(http://oasis.kiom.re.kr), and RISS(www.riss.kr). The search words were 'cold hypersensitivity(冷症)' and 'syncope(厥證)'. Inclusion criteria were randomized controlled trials (RCTs), non RCTs, Before and after clinical study (B&A) about CHHF. Selection journals and data extraction were conducted by HS Lee and SH Sun independently. Results : Total twenty-one articles were selected finally. RCTs, non-RCTs, and B&A were 3, 12, and 6, respectively. The topics for CHHF were classified into three categories: effect of treatment (n=2) characteristics (n=11), and diagnosis (n=8). Conclusions : This results showed that RCT about CHHF and treatment effect of cold hypersensitivity of hands and feet were small in number. Further systemic and larger studies about CHHF will be needed.
